MAME doesn't support samurai Shodown V. You need either Nebula Loader, Kawaks Loader, NeoRAGEx, or a custom build of MAME (don't ask, since these are against the MAME license. Or compile your own MAME.

PCB = Printed Circuit Board. MVS (Multi Video System) was SNK arcade solution where the arcade machine used carts that could be plugged to the actual system. (Up to six, if one had a 6-slot MVS unit) With PCBs, there are no carts, but all the game data is stored on one circuit board. I don't think there are glaring differences between the MVS and PCB versions, just from what kind of hardware was used to dump the game.
