  1. But I am. The emulator "fakes" these slow downs because it acts like the PSX. Then you can't do nothing about these slowdowns, as trying to tamper withthe original FPs results in the PSx's internal timer going haywire. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lame.
  2. But I am. The emulator "fakes" these slow downs because it acts like the PSX. I've tried this too, but I still get the emulated slow downs. I kind of figured it would be possible... if I can run at a constant 200FPS I surely can make it run at a constant 60FPS... I don't think they are bugs. The are intentinaly placed. The emulator acts like the PSX, so it will have the occasional slow downs. My Specs : P4@3.2Ghz, ATI X800XL, 2.0GB of Ram
  3. Okay, so recently I've been playing a lot of PS RPGs. Instead of just playing them on my dusty PS2 however, I decided to take advantage of my PCs power and see how much of an improvent it would make on the graphics. I'm using ePSXe along with my PSone Bios (scph101). Along with Pete's OGL2 plugin... Quiet a huge improvement over the PS quality, smooth textures and added a lot o color. Chrono Cross is looking like a very early PS2 game now. Anyways, one thing that is bugging me are all the emulated PS slow downs. As you may already know, the PS had FPS drops... these are emulated by ePSXe. So even when my FPS read 60, i'm getting slow downs. So, basicly I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to adjust the CPU frequency on a PS emulator to get rid of these slow downs... I'm thinking it is possible, since PSone had a performance increase over the original PS (higher clock freq?). I'd appreciate any tips.
  4. Remeber way back during the PS2 release they had that commercial showing PSXX(forgot the exact number)... You stuck it in your head or something, hehe... Wonder if it will ever be like that.
  5. Voice acting in Nippon Ichi games? I think the voices are superb. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was talking about Magna Carta: Tears of Blood... It's Xenosaga Episode II bad...
  6. Beware the voice acting Agozer...
  7. It's already out yes. I'm starting to really like Atlus. I haven't bought one RPG from that publisher that I haven't fallen in love with.
  8. Maybe it's a bit exaggerated, but I don't ever remember having a problem like the X360s on my PS2 or any other Sony product for that matter. (I do remember my first generation PS2 overheating beacuase the fan screen was clogged with dust) I remember my buddy having a Sony PC, he ran into tons of problems (spyware, virus related) and the Sony tech support was great. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess you never had to turn an original psx on its head to get it to read a disc. :S <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually had to do this, but I did many things that went against the warranty... For a long time I did the disc swapping trip to play burned PS games... then I added a chip to it... Figured that was what caused it. ^^ EDIT : Back on Topic. http://www.canada.com/technology/story.htm...d1-2b0fecc9604e Add over heating to the list. ^^
  9. Resident Evil 4 for the PS2 is a good buy. Graphics have been downgraded slightly, but you have progressive and wide-screen support to make up for it. =) Xenosaga Episode I & II for PS2 are great RPGs, if you manage to keep up with the storyline which draws heavily from philosophy and religious referrences. Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga I & II for the PS2 is another fantastic series. Beautiful graphics (what cel-shading should of been), innovative gameplay and a great story to go along with it. Megaman X8 is another great game for the PS2. Back to old school side shooters. It's honestly the best Megaman X game I've played, even better then the original in my book. Those are a few I'd recommend, if you are a hardcore RPG player I suggest picking up Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. It's an extremely well done game, but it isn't for everyone. Also, Guilty Gear Isuka is... a bad game in my opinion. I love the Guilty Gear series (can't wait until XX/Slash hits the US) but GGI was a bold experiment. Gameplay has been downgraded quiet a bit, along with the frame rate for the character animations. The hole 'turning' and 'lane' changing is incredibly awkward... The only redemption for this game would have been online support, but it doesn have it.

  11. You base this on one game? From a franchise that is well known to be poorly ported to console? Don't blame the hardware, blame the company responsible for the port. Doom 3 is great on Xbox. Doom 3 Xbox > Activision, Vicarious Visions Quake 4 Xbox 360 > Activision, Raven Software Both run on the same engine, so where does the fault lie? Activision is a publisher, so that leaves Raven Software to blame.........for a bad port. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, I based that on on product. Why? Because it shows what kind of products we can expect in the future from the Xbox 360. Quake 4 still passed QA even though it was clearly not optimized. Keep in mind this is their launch list... Does look good if some games are already a bit too much for the system. Raven soft has always put out decent games too... I don't see why 100% of the blame is on them either.
  12. Man, Xbox 360 is kind of pathetic... http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/qua...iew.html?page=1 Already having trouble keeping up with it's own game?
  13. and we all know how well the neogeo home system sold......... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol, I actually know someone who has one... Gotta love those loading times.
  14. I read this week ago. I wonder, how realistic are these figures. I was already prepared to spend up to $600 on the PS3 since It would hold every console game I would ever want to own. But $300-400? Wasn't it going to be extremely expensive?
  15. I'm not a fan of the Matrix, so I'm judging the game purely based on it's own merits. It's not a good game. Music is horrible, game play is repetitive, and the graphics are incredibly subpar. Not to mention that fact that it runs horrible on my rig (P4 3.6Ghz, ATI x800xl PCI-E, 2GB of Ram).
  16. Ahem, you can't do certain things after updating from a certain version though.
  17. It was around 6/kb average for me during my 56k days.
  18. They won't. MS is really trying to get the hype machine rolling.
  19. SBC Yahoo DSL is cheap. $14 a month for a pretty fast connection.
  20. Playstation had a ton of games you love to play (or would have, god there was so many). Nintendo 64 had more games you absolutely loved though. Right? I feel somewhat the same way. Some of N64s game I would consider the best of that entire generation. Majora's Mask was just a brilliant game.
  21. I've already decided to only own one next generation console. One that takes care of games my PC won't be able to play. Since xbox 360 seems to cater to a lot of FPS type games, no 360 for me.
  22. Your own fault for choosing a console based on the technological advancements.
  23. Very good choice. If that doesn't work out howeve, check out GBA. It's cheap and fun and the better of the three handhelds atm. Only because it's large library of games.
  24. Any chance you can post the link? I checked around Zophar's translation section, but didn't see it. ;. ; <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, because we can't post roms on this site. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol, well i'm not asking for a rom.
