  1. Thanks nes!!! You're on the ball as usual.
  2. Fantastic work from you yet again nes6502! Thank you!!
  3. Unfortunately the word "Select" is almost always used for DIP switches, adding credits, or something like that. Those games have a control called "P1 Select". It's under Arcade Settings for all controllers. I guess those games are the exception. It's not intuitive but you can change the item by going to Arcade Settings and picking P1 Select to cycle the item menu. Thanks for the reply. Though it's a little cumbersome compared to the arcade games, it's better than nothing so this will work for now. But I take it you will take care of this in the next release, along with Forgotten Worlds/Lost Worlds 2P rotary controls. Again, thanks for this EPIC piece of work.
  4. Found a significant bug: Games affected: Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom (and clones) Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara (and clones) Issue: There is no button available in the FBL controller settings to toggle through the secondary inventory. This makes it impossible to use oil, axes, arrows, or magic, etc when needed at specific times. The arcade games all had a button that allowed the player to cycle through the inventory. These sets really need this fixed: ddtod.zip ddtodu.zip ddtodj.zip ddtodjr1.zip ddtodur1.zip ddsom.zip ddsomu.zip ddsomj.zip ddsomur1.zip ddsomjr1.zip
  5. I don't have a debug Xbox version, but it would be very nice to have CPS3 support in FBL. It would be a great way to make it future proof. Some of us might get 128 RAM upgrades. I'm very happy that nearly all the games run great on the stock Xbox at this point. But there is no harm in having the Xbox use the extra ram with CPS3 games or Asura Blade/Buster. If I had a debug Xbox, you know I would help you test this Kenshiro. But I don't have one yet. Hopefully someone who does can help.
  6. I have a question nes. Which XBE does CPS1 fall under? Default.xbe? NeogeoCPS2.xbe?
  7. seXBOX, try going into the emulator Options, then select 'Rebuild Game List' That should make your changes to your roms folder take effect. I hope this works for you.
  8. PM was sent not too long ago. It's contains two different save states. I don't understand what you mean Kenshiro. Your contributions to the arcade scene for the Xbox have been amazing. Mooooooooo was a great contribution too, my friend.
  9. Does the screen saver appear every time? Does it crash as soon as the screen saver disappears? If so, can you edit the ini and set the screen saver time to something like 30 (that will delay it by 30 minutes) and try it again? Can you delete your D:\config\mvsc.ini first before testing it again? If it still crashes, can you post a savestate? The screen saver doesn't appear in every case. I changed the screen saver time to 30 anyway just in case. What happens is, the crash message pops up as soon as the Staff Credits screen appears after killing Onslaught. This affects the parent rom only (mvsc.zip) and I've recently discovered that it happens with all characters, not just Strider. I deleted the config\mvsc.ini and it still crashes. I find it strange that the clones do not have this issue. I'll post a savestate if this info doesn't help, nes.
  10. Found a more significant bug: Game - Marvel VS Capcom and clones: mvsc.zip, etc. Issue - Strider Hiryu's ending causes the emulator to crash. Details - After KOing Onslaught with Strider Hiryu, the Final Burn Legends screensaver comes up and stays there until you press a button. Then a message appears that reads "Final Burn alpha crashed. This rom or cheat code is not supported. Press A to exit" I have no cheats enabled for the game and I have not altered mvsc's cheats in the dat. Tried this several times to confirm. My settings are: 720P Hardware filter - Bilinear Software filter - Simple2X Flicker and Soften filters off Sound Low pass = off Sample interpolation = Linear FM interpolation = Enabled
  11. Strange. I don't understand. You pick Exit from the menu and the Xbox reboots and that game automatically starts? That shouldn't happen and it has never happened to me. The only things in the menu that night not work the first time is Reset, and Arcade Settings. Figure out a game where that happens and post or pm me your path.ini and the name of the game. I'll see if I can figure it out. But any way, let me explain again - even on a clean install, with only Final Fight and Street Fighter Alpha 1 on the roms directory, the problem happens on different occasions. When I am inside of the game and I select the option EXIT GAME, instead of being thrown to the emulator GUI I am thrown to the game itself again, like a game reset. I even see the GUI background and a 'loading' message (or somthing like that, don't remember the exactly phrase), but instead of arrive on the rom list, I am inside the very same game again. Thanks, Cospefogo. I think I figured out why you're having this issue Cospefogo. When you Press A to Exit any game, a "Please Wait" message comes up while the GUI loads the rom list. It only takes a 2 to 5 seconds for this to happen, but if you continuosly mash the A button while the "Please Wait" message is there, you will actually be selecting the game you just exited again. This is because FBL returns to the last rom that was selected in the rom list, which saves time. All you have to do is avoid pressing buttons when the "Please Wait" message comes up after you exit a game. Pressing A once should do the trick. Let me know if I'm wrong or if this doesn't solve the problem. I'm just trying to help you out. True. I forgot to mention an option to adjust the Gamma settings would be a good minor addition too.
  12. So far, the only bugs I've encountered are: -The arcade settings for CPS2 games do not save when leaving a game. For example, turning on Free Play or adjusting the difficulty settings in each game's Test mode does not save the settings. The settings have to be changed again each time you load a CPS2 rom. -No rotary control for Player 2 in Forgotten Worlds and clones. Player 1 has them. -A random ringing sound in Metal Slug 1. This happened in Mission 1 as soon as some of the first group of grunts threw bombs at me. It was a weird ringing noise that happened intermittently for about 25 secs. I only had this bug happen once, but it hasn't happened since. -Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo's hi-score ranking list has corrupted sprites for slots 3, 4, and 5 whenever hi-score data is saved in the ini. Since deleting my hi-score ini, I have not been able to reproduce the issue with the game locking up. There may be other games affected by this, but it will take time to find them. My personal Wishlist: -An option to enter the in-game menu with something besides the Right thumbstick. Pressing L trigger + R trigger simultaneously is the one I'm hoping for the most. Back + Start and Start + Black are also good choices. Black + White is used in certain games as vital attacks (this switches characters in the Marvel vs Capcom for instance) so this one might be a bad idea. -Support for the Universe bios v2.3. We have discussed this already. At the moment, if I had to choose only one NeoGeo bios to be added in the next release, then it would be the uni-bios 2.3 one. -CPS1 Dipswitches. The CPS1 games all had settings that could be adjusted this way in older FBA versions. Some of the choices were: increasing the number of lives, turning on Free Play, adjusting the difficulty, Demo Sound on/off, number of players per game -- the DipSwitches were there for all CPS1 games. -An option to toggle frameskip on or off. After witnessing how efficiently FBL handles frameskip, I can admit that this is no longer a major request. But it's still on my list as a small request. Many of the games don't even need it. Depending on the game, it's very rare to catch FBL skipping frames. But having the option to toggle this can't hurt as long as it doesn't mess up something else in the core. Perhaps make it accessible only by editing the ini. That way people can't stumble upon it by accident unless they know what they are doing. -An option to disable hi-score saving if we choose to. I absolutely love the feature, but in any case where the hi-score saving causes problems, then I would like to be able to turn it off if it helps.
  13. I can't reproduce the first issue. When you say you paused at the in game menu, do you mean the FBL one brought up by clicking the right thumb stick? Or some in game menu in the game? How long did you leave it at that menu? Did you have any cheat codes enabled? Yes, I paused by pressing the right thumbstick to enter the menu. I left the game there maybe 60 seconds or so, then I switched control pads from a controller port and returned to the game. That's when the issue occurred. No cheat codes were enabled. I can't reproduce the issue now, but I will delete all ini files for the game and refresh my rom list. This might have also been due to the hi score saving as well. Btw, thanks for the reply.
  14. Came across a few strange issues with: Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo - USA 960620 Issue 1: I paused at the in game menu for a bit. Upon returning to the game, the game screen was jittering and my controller refused to accept any inputs. I also noticed that the audio had completely disappeared from the game. Had to do a hard reset of the emulator to do anything. I have no idea what caused this. Issue 2: After rebooting FBL, when I leave this game running up until the Score Ranking screen appears, there are graphical bugs for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th spots where characters should be in the high score ranking list. I fixed this by deleting my hiscore.ini for spf2t. The graphical bug in the high score list disappeared after that, but after completing the game, I suspect it will return. Should the hi-score saving feature affect games in this manner?
  15. Hmm...perhaps nes isn't aware of this issue after all Cospefogo. After checking again, I couldn't find any info on this in the "Frequently Asked Questions" document. There is no readme file for FBL; it's called "Release Notes" and that document exists word for word in the very first post in the thread for reference. I apologize for the mistake Cos. I could have sworn I read this discussed somewhere. However, I've been trying to reproduce the issue you're having but I still haven't had any issues with exiting any of the games. What resolution and video settings are you using? Do you remember which version of Final Fight and SFA 1 you used? Do you have any cheats enabled? I hope you can get this sorted out my friend.
  16. Btw, if people are finding bugs or issues with how the games run, then they should definitely report them in these threads just so nes can address those issues whenever possible. I haven't seen a case where he doesn't address an issue, whether he's already done so in the app's Readme file or not. It does no good to report issues to anyone except nes right now; he is the one who did this port and he created this thread for that purpose. That said, a while ago I found that Gunbird 2 and Dragon Blaze had sound issues -- both games have the sound effects on the left channel only, music on the right channel only. I didn't report this earlier because these two games are newly supported by the latest PC FBA, therefore these issues also exist in the PC version by default as that's from where they originated. If this sound issue gets fixed in the PC version for these two, then we can expect it to be fixed in the Xbox port soon after in an update at some point. If no one reported this at all, then most people wouldn't even find out that this issue affects Gunbird 2 and Dragon Blaze for the PC FBA as well. FBL is just a great port of the most updated FBA for PC, so it inherits the exact same issues with preliminary emulation on a few specific games, but these issues get fixed over time in most cases. On my side, the rest of the games run great so far. The CPU speed adjustment is there now for any game that allegedly "ran slower" and I haven't found any bugs with any CPS2, CPS1, NeoGeo, or Cave games -- there is no emulator on the Xbox that runs those 4 better than FBL.
  17. Hey cos! The issue with some games needing to be exited a few times is in the FBL Readme. Nes6502 is aware of this issue. For the soften filter issue, is this for HD mode or SD mode? I'd like to test this out too. This may be a bug.
  18. Just tried Hyper Street Fighter 2 -- works perfectly with no issues for me. My current settings are: 720P Hardware Filter: Anisotropic Software filter: Scanline On another note, the news about the CPU speed adjustment in the ini is huge for the people who wanted it. Though the minor slowdown is 100% accurate to the arcade versions of Metal Slug 2 and ESP Rade, for example, it's still great to have the option to eliminate it for these two games. Thanks for including this nes.
  19. Don't panic! What happens is that the current version has to be paid for, but previous versions are free. When the next version comes out, 3.0 will become free. You might not like it, but he's the author and his choice should be respected. Even if it is "illegal". It's really not a big deal at all actually. The 2.3 has always been more than enough for me personally, but maybe The Ice-Man feels more strongly about this since he initially brought the 3.0 issue up. It's really too bad we can't please everybody, but I guess it is what it is. Good point about the previous versions becoming free after the new ones are released. That's very promising for a free 3.0 someday for the people on the console scene who want it more. Razoola made a great contribution by creating this bios in the first place, so there is certainly no lack of appreciation on my part.
  20. This sucks for us as a community. A list like this would help fans make the best use each individual emulator. Most people don't have the room to install both. My plan is to upgrade my HDD so that I can have a full install of FBA 1.29c, CoinOPS, Final Burn 1.1, and Final Burn Legends. But again, most people can't install them all, so that's why a compatibility list would really help. btw, I'm just an observer here. Watching all this bickering is like watching your parents fight. Just a helpful idea -- even on a regular stock HDD we can install all of those apps as standalone first, then load the roms from DVDs. That's the way I did it back before I upgraded my HDD a few years ago. That method gives you full access to all the roms you want, even if you don't have the space.
  21. This works perfectly for now. Thanks!
  22. I don't think so. I couldn't find anything in the Arcade settings. Ok, gotcha. No worries.
  23. Sorry for being redundant, (I'll stop I promise) but is there a way to turn on Free play in the Neo Geo games?
