    TG16/PCE emulator

    - The processing of the wave memory sound was corrected and improved. The tone quality was modeled on the atmosphere of a real machine.

    - The reading processing of the joypad has been improved(speed-up and perhaps stability improvement).

    - It dealt with the problem that the joypad might not be able to be set in some personal computer environments.

    - When "TV Sports Basketball" was played, the problem that freezed before the player was selected (It is generated by v0.72) was corrected.

    - "Open bram Folder" menu was added to "File" menu.

    JAPE WIP

    By Robert,

    10-20-2006 - JAPE

Thanks to the invaluable help of AJ Mas, we have perfect sound support for Namco games!

We also have support for many Atari vectorial games (only BattleZone does not work properly yet).

Also I started experimenting with an automatic tool called Jappy. This tool does actually convert MAME C drivers into JAPE Java drivers.

It already works pretty well but there is still a lot of work to do in order to have automatic driver generation.

It will help us to concentrate on the interesting stuff (new cpu cores, new sound cores, sound support, MAME features and source changes) and less on the repeating drivers port process.

By the way, Robby Roto is now fully playable so you can expect to play this game freely online soon.

Just to remind you, Robby Roto is one of the free legal MAME game with ROMs available to the public domain.

Here are all the latest changes:

[JAPPY] Added preliminary support for Jappy, an automatic tool to convert MAME C Drivers into JAPE Java Drivers [Gollum].

[JAPE] Added preliminary sound support (only basic samples are supported) [AJ Mas, Gollum].

Sound is already working nicely in PacMan, Miss PacMan, Pengo, Dig Dug, Jr. Pacman, Super Pacman.

[JAPE] Added support for Unix-based makefiles [AJ Mas].

[MAME] Added support for Mr Do's Castle, Mr Do! RunRun, Mr Do! Wild Ride [Gollum].

[MAME] Added support for Mappy, Dig Dug and improved support for Super Pacman [Gollum].

[MAME] Added support for Seawolf II and improved support for Space Zap, Robby Roto, Gorf, Mappy, Dig Dug [Gollum].

[MAME] Added support for Three Stooges, YieAr Kung Fu [Gollum].

[MAME] Added support for the vectorial games Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Black Widow, Gravitar, Lunar Lander, Red Baron, Spaceduel, Tempest [Gollum].

[MAME] Incorporated most changes from MAME 0.26 to MAME 0.27 [Gollum].

    vbSMS+ ("olafsms") Released!

    olaf
    By olaf,

I've officially released the first public version of vbSMS+ (it was named "olafsms", but some people had some problems with that, which is okay). Here's a little about vbSMS+ (taken from its new homepage)...

vbsms+ is an enhanced unofficial continuation of the vbsms project (as of version 0.2) by john casey (which emulates the sega mark iii, master system, and game gear). the majority of source code in vbsms+ was not written by me, therefore, i take no credit for the appropriate portions. however, all additions/alterations to the source code of vbsms are entirely by me (unless stated otherwise) in vbsms+.

Below are the changes done to the original vbSMS project.

    - added a menu system

    - added a "load rom" dialog

    - added closing of ROM/stopping execution

    - added pausing w/blitting while paused

    - added resetting

    - added a program icon (schamp.ico from mamu_'s mameicons)

    - added support for the sega game gear's start button

    - added an "about" dialog

    - added display size changing/blitter stretching

    - added border masking for sega game gear mode

    - added support for player #2 controller

    - added full screen support (with resolution changing/enable on rom load)

    - added state saving/loading

    - added movie recording/playing

    - added layer disabling

    - added saving of screenshots

    - added support for pc gamepad input

    - changed palettes to be hardcoded/switchable

    - changed the black and white palette to be more accurate

    - changed keyboard input to be configurable and added a configuration window

    - removed drag and drop support

    - removed error dialogs (allows more games to be played)

You can visit the official vbSMS+ homepage here or download it here (version 0.1.0).
