This is a test only version and should not be used on real files, nor be widely distributed.

This release fixes a lot of bugs, new (or old) features will be added as soon as some stability will be reached.

The database structure changed, you can' t use the alpha 1 bin files, so you must create new one.

 

Bugs fixed:

- Improved refresh speed

- Fix incorrect icon colors with some files

- Fix add/close path icon disabled sometimes

- Update and optimize countless database codes. This fixes a lot of incorrect reports and repair bugs.

- 'bad dump' icon does not appear on some files (005, 40love, astrob, animaljr ... )

- 'arithmetic exception, numeric overflow or string truncation' fixed

- horizontal scrollbar now stay on the left in the treeview

- date conversion error

- unknown files sometimes not deleted

- Empty files are deleted

- Add some reports at the end of the fix log.

 

Added:

- Samples analyse. No samples fixing yet and you can't actually set a folder as a sample folder.

- red/yellow/green/grey filter (for files only. You can sort by icon in the database nodes until filter is added)

- Added verion number in task bar caption.

- Speed up the gui loading (by delaying the nodes loading only when needed (node expanding)).

Looks like the problems with getting MAME32 variants working with the new structure of MAME has been sorted, here is what's been released.

Arcade emulator

I took a long time for this one. Anyway there are quite a few changes, with the last emudx game being emulated : galaxian. A very old game, yes, but did you know that the official record for this game is 1,114,550 points, achieved the 24th August 2006 at Dukinfield in the UK. Good luck to beat it !!! (it's from the history.dat file).

 

It means 2 new emudx files for this one, and I updated the frogger graphics too, with pre-scaled versions which look a little better.

* Added support for a frogger hack which adds hiscore table. The rom should be renamed as froggs.zip. The permanent ram is saved on disk, no hiscore.dat update required. Emudx support works also for this one (it doesn't change anything in the game).

* A little fix for the hiscores : They were loaded too late to be shown on the first screen of dkong (it starts by the hiscore table). So they are now loaded at the begining of the emulation and you see correctly the hiscore table in dkong now.

* The cheats.cfg file now supports a new syntax for clones with the same cheats, it makes the file 1/3 smaller (why didn't we do that earlier ???)

* Added donkey kong foundry (dkongex) : http://www.jeffsromhack.com/products/donkeykong.htm

* Linux: Fixed fbcon support when using a driver which allows to change the video mode like matroxfb or nvidiafb : these drivers require a special handling in sdl to avoid a crash. Advice : use 16bpp at least for fbcon if you want to use raine with that, or expect a strange looking gui...

* Added galaxian, super galaxian, and galaxian part X, with emudx support. The original sound is not emulated for now, so you'd better use emudx samples if you want sound !

* Editable cheats, usually to select the game stage, are supported again.
