Inky Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 here's all I've found out about segas "huge" announcement.:taken from gamespot The publisher made no mention of Phantasy Star Universe at its "surprise" press announcement this morning, where the only thing shown was a multiplayer demo of the Matrix Online. It didn't divulge much more information about the early-in-development game at its booth, either, other than show a trailer for Universe. No info on platforms or release date were made available. 2 things.1: Sega, You Suck! 2: Sega, kudos for making the whole game industry rumor mill go bonkers over NOTHING!!!!!11!!!1oneoneoneone!
Wizard Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 Their press conference was today, that news is from a few days ago.

Inky Posted May 13, 2004 Author Posted May 13, 2004 (edited) e3insider.com came out of the closet to say:Sega’s surprise announcement that they’re working on Matrix Online was coupled with an impressive working demo in their exhibit. face it we (the entire game community) got duped. no console, no handheld, no shenmue III. consider it an internet rumor life lesson Edited May 13, 2004 by garageink

Not that I really looked forward to Shenmue III, since I've never played I or II. This wasn't the first time Sega did something like this.

BoomBa_GoosE Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 this is why i didnt get my hopes up...im a sega fan, i love my dreamcast haha but i kno not to get my hopes up knowin that this "news" can be whatevers. sega made this news seem all big bc matrix is a big fan-base thing. (lets not get into whether matrix was good or not), and matrix is a huge thing, so to have matrix and a big name game brand is supposidly a big thing. it could be somethin big, but obviously, it was jus hype....
Gryph Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Wait...how many more days of E3 is left? One more day? Or is it just 2 days long? There might be some news on the last day...but that's just wishful thinking.
