Prican25 Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 well i for one didn't like n64 much at all in fact i never bought it since ps1 had plenty of quality games over n64 (tho goldeneye rocked in multiplayer ). someone commented saying the nintendo being kiddy was bullsh*t, well even nintendo themselves said the n64 was towards kids as other consoles featured more mature games like re 1-3, tomb raider 1-4 and so on. it was late in n64's life that games featured mature themes (blood and such). gc on the other hand has changed nintendo's image by allowing more mature games (re series for exmaple) and i for one was shocked they even allowed bmx-xxx (lame game but still the point that it has XXX). most ppl i know that own a gc barely play it since they bought it for certain games (re series) and if i were to get one it will be the same for me.
Gryph Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 I have the best pad ever!! The Logitech Wingman Rumblepad, its really nice I also have the Sidewinder...the really crap one, 4 buttons, D bad, and 2 shoulder buttons (although their actually triggers), Its great for SNES emulation!! and another pad is my CH Gamepad, its real old, but is a perfect copy of a Genesis controller (cept it has shoulder buttons which i use for Mode and Start when im not using my Logitch, which i almost always use anyway) I have teh Saitek X46 and the Saitek Cyborg Gold too for sticks and i have a PSX-USB adaptor I have some more crap too but im too lazy to type itDamn...that's a shitload of extra controllers. I just made do with my mouse, keyboard, Sidewinder, and a $5 2 button joystick for old ass flight sims (LHX Attack Chopper).
Shibathedog Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 i use them all for different things, also, when im playing multiplayer my guests tend to whine less when im beating them hehe
Agozer Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 I miss my Commodore 128. It got eaten by....lo and behold, a virus.
Gryph Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 Well here's some more news that the Gamecube is going down the toilet. Factor 5, the people that made Rouge Squadron, is stopping production for the Gamecube and focusing on other platforms. In a conversation with IGNcube today, Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht said the company would not develop any more titles for Nintendo's GameCube console. The studio is currently creating software for other platforms. Eggebrecht would not say what titles were in development at Factor 5 nor would he talk specifically about what platform they might appear on. However, at the Game Developers Conference 2004 Eggebrecht was spotlighted as one of the studio heads very keen on Sony PSP development.
Shibathedog Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 poop heads, if only they realized if they ALL kept developing games, there would be more good games, and more sales, and the sales would go back up
ForceX Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 If you guys see the amount sale figures of the N64 and PS you will see that the N64 was outselling the PS but as soon as SquareSoft announced FF7 on PS, everyone started to buy PS's, but overall the N64 was not a failure....
DanManXZ Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 If you guys see the amount sale figures of the N64 and PS you will see that the N64 was outselling the PS but as soon as SquareSoft announced FF7 on PS, everyone started to buy PS's, but overall the N64 was not a failure....but hell what system at the time(except for DC, I sometimes hate my PS2 and Sony cuz they advertize their asses off ) could compete with games like FF7-FF9, Castlevania:SOTN, Metal Gear Solid, Streetfighter games, Soul Blade, Mega Man X4, and Tekken.
ForceX Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Why are you hating Sony when MS advertises the xbox hardcore as well.... Anyways, the kids nowadays don't appreciate gameplay...they prefer blood, guts and sex... Super Mario Bros. doesn't have the greatest graphics but damn it is an awesome game to play...
DanManXZ Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 (edited) Why are you hating Sony when MS advertises the xbox hardcore as well.... Anyways, the kids nowadays don't appreciate gameplay...they prefer blood, guts and sex... Super Mario Bros. doesn't have the greatest graphics but damn it is an awesome game to play...That was at the time when PS2 and DC were having a little console war. THe only reason PS2 won because they were advertising the hell outta it. Now Gates'box does the same too And for kids liking blood, sex and whatever thank Grand theft Auto. I never said any of N64 games were bad. I loved Nintendo's games but PS1 had an Ultimate 3rd party line up. Edited April 16, 2004 by DanManXZ
Prican25 Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 well thats for good reaon since it was nintendo's dumb decision to stick with carts when cds were the better choice in which it lost a lot of support and squaresoft being the biggest hit to them (can you imagine a 17 cart version of ff7 ) as for dc vs ps2, it actually lost to ps1 and not ps2
random guy Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 (can you imagine a 17 cart version of ff7 )that's the best argument I've hard for why it was a baaaad idea to put a cartridge system on the n64.
Prican25 Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 hehe lets also not forget what was to be the addon for n64 that was suppose to be close to cd, 64DD i think it was called. what a waste of money that had to been when they were even working on it
Shibathedog Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Yeah, and that Disk Drive idea for making saves with your N64 similar to Savestates from Emulators One of the many cancelled uses for that big port on the bottom of the N64
