Garcimak Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 One quick question for anyone who might know - are there any analog settings for Sega games, as analogue steering on Turbo Outrun, Power Drift Hang on, space harrier etc etc. Gameplay is a bit harsh without it. Looking forward to great addition, cheers all. I was curious about this too.I never played the original machines, so I don't knowhow exactly the controller sensitivity should look like... Maybe this setting already could be performed bythe analog sensitivity option?Or dead zone option...Something like that... The one we see in the ingame menu. Regards!<C>Thanks , tried this, it seems the dead zone is another parameter linked to the pad itself, not the game playability. Space harrier arcade was also the best on hydraulics imo, you could move you character and making him stay anywhere as long you can keep the right 'angle' with the analog lever, the same for Hang on, where you had to keep down the bike as much you need to keep the curve.
+ T + Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) I wonder... What do you think about a MAXIMUM COIN INPUT option? This could be great to bring a bit more of "reality" to the arcadeemulation. Who used to go to the arcade center and get a full bagof coins and play with no limits? I think I never saw deep pocketslike that in the arcade era. Also, it could bring more challenge. Some people are inclined tojust keep inserting coins in the emulator all the time and theysimple get no fun at all from the game... "Why should I worry if Ihave infinite lives?" My idea is something like: OPTION for COIN LIMIT:1 coin / 3 Coins / Free CoinsGood news, FBL already supports this feature. To enable it just do the following: 1. Insert the number of coins you want to play with (1 coin/3 coins/ etc.)2. Do not insert any more coins. Sorry, I'm joking of course, but seriously as the user you need to take some of the initiative in terms of customising your emulation experience. You can't expect the emulator to do everything like that for you. there is a item select key bug with Dungeons and dragon 2 . it has to be 4 keys in game. but final burn legends 1.4 has only three keys in dungeons and dragon 2 , also dungeons and dragon 1 this bug from final burn legends 1.3U please test and fix this bug. and some neogeo games can only excute on universe bios 2.3 . so please fix this bugTo make this point absolutely clear; there are no Neogeo games that need Unibios to run. If your games are not booting under the default bios then there's something wrong with either the game ROMset or the neogeo bios zip. So there's no bug to fix. As for the D&D buttons, I'll look into that and fix if necessary. Possible to add a bg music selector for the gui? For e.g you can put your mp3's somewhere and select music track1, track2 etc from the guiIt's a nice idea but a bit late in the day for v1.5. Maybe v1.6 though. Edited August 21, 2011 by + T +
darknior Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 cospfogo : BP is writing next CoinOPS will make MDRIVE_SuperBubbleBobble works Edit : now playable on the Xbox thanks to Haze I d'ont know what emulator is use to do that ...
destronger Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) will the next fbl be just patch xbe or complete install? Edited August 21, 2011 by tristanx

It makes a big difference on those games which originally had analogue controls. Turbo Outrun and analogue controls would be heaven!
+ T + Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 like i said i know you removed the genesis emu but would it maybe be possible to have this game from the hazemd set playable on xbox as we cant play it on neogenesis or any other emu at this moment.thanks.It looks like a fun game but it wouldn't really fit to add it to FBL in its current form. It would be fairly easy to compile a separate build solely for Genesis and SNES games if there was any great interest in that, but would there be any real advantage besides playing that one game? will the next fbl be just patch xbe or complete install? It will be an upgrade package to be applied over a 1.4 install. Looking forward to great addition, cheers all.I've looked into this and I'm afraid I'm going to have to admit defeat for the time being. FBL does possess the capability for analog controls since it's there in the FBA code, but I just can't get my head around how they would fit into the system FBL uses to handle its inputs. Unfortunately many things in FBL are not nearly as straightforward as they were in FBA-XXX Pro. But then FBL is a far more sophisticated emulator and really deserves someone with more know-how than me working on it.
weinerschnitzel Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Why isn't it straight forward enough, do we need more if statements? I guess you need the controller code to return a value within a usable range and need to send that to FBA. Anything outside of the deadzone and within 32768 on XBOX should be 0-whatever for FBA. N64 needs a magic number of 256 as a divisor to reduce the range from 0-32768 to 0-128. We use 258 to keep the controller from reaching areas where it may be prone to drift, like in GoldenEye. You might need a few magic numbers to get the range right for the different hardware the arcades use. Not sure if that has much to do with the interfacing bumps you're hitting, but I'll take a gander anyway. Thanks again for taking this project under your wing. Someone had to do it

Cospefogo Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) (...) but would there be any real advantage besides playing that one game? No other - absolutely none - emulator for Sega Genesis out therehas scanlines filtering support over point hardware video. It is just FBL, NestopiaX on NES and ZsneXbox on SNES. :( Regards,C. Cospefogo Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 +T+, I need to recall tis subject again sincethe answer was not clear for me. Is there ay chance of having the gameslike Raiden and Toki getting its music fixed? On both games the sound (music only) isreally, really, really slow. But all game andSFX are perfectly fine. Those are my favs...=/ Regards,C.
cba.gy Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Thought i would bump a subject worth reading as "what's your favourite colour Yellow or Pink" topics are getting rather mundane.
