BlackKnight Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Well, like I said, Tekken 6 doesn't look like much to write home about either. And that one is really their flagship title.
OverlordMondo Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I was expecting more from Namco graphics wise. You're right, she's practically two dimensional. I'll not accept this.
Chibi Kami Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I wish companies would stop half-assing the PS3 games. The system's got the power for ultimate win, but you can't just click compile source.I'm giving you the evil eye, EA.

The system's got the power for ultimate win, but you can't just click compile source.I'm giving you the evil eye, EA.This is Namco though, not EA. They're practically in Sony's pocket. If even they can't be f**ked jumping through the million and one hoops to squeeze power out of the PS3, then it's not their fault- the console's innards are just too knotted and up and complicated. And no it doesn't have the power for the ultimate win. I mean I'll believe you when I see one of those ultimate winning games, but if MGS4 and Tekken 6 can't blow us away graphically, then what leg does the PS3 and its supposedly 'godlike' hardware have to stand on?
Devia Eleven Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I mean, just look at Tekken 5, those graphics were spectacular, and Tekken 3 used the Playstation to it's full potential.
BlackKnight Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I mean, just look at Tekken 5, those graphics were spectacular, and Tekken 3 used the Playstation to it's full potential.Yeh but developing for those systems had been fully worked out by the time of those games. Also, those systems had such a large user base that it was worthwhile to figure them out and exploit them fully. The PS3 is even more complicated and not nearly as dominant in the market. Hence the 'we'll try harder next time' approach to these titles.
Tynvar Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I think we are all still waiting for that game that will show what the PS3 can do. Too bad sony doesn't seem to be putting any real effort into it. Or at least it doesn't seem like it.
Wizard Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Tekken 5 wasn't by any means, spectacular, neither does Tekken 6. SC4 on the other hand, in one screen it looks amazing, then in the next it doesn't. It looks like with Amy they dropped the poly count a bit, but otherwise she looks pretty good. Her outfit (that includes the fur) looks amazing and Namco decided to not to add more boobs. Unlike the other characters.
Tynvar Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 They have a quite a few games that could turn the tide if they make an effort of it. Metal GearGran TurismoFinal Fantasy These games alone could convince people of buying a ps3. Maybe they are trying to make the best that's why it's taking them so long... they better be.
Bobdrakke Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Well Sony have to show by example when they get round to doing GOW3. For me PS3 is possibility when XBMC linux is more mature wouldn't mind dabbling with XBMC Linux on PS3.
