Bonus JZ Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 (edited) That will be great update - hope you solve the problem. I have small request - could you add selectable path for previews (screen shots) to the fbax.ini Edited July 17, 2007 by Bonus JZ
xlordo Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Don't mess with those transcoders anymore. The xbox now supports a VGA completely with the new vga bios. 720p and 1080i work flawlessly, and there is no more reverting back to green screen on some 480p xbox games. Emulators in 720p via the vga bios looks amazing. How i do that man ??? I have to flash my xbox ?? ps: i have a 1.6 xbox i think is xcalibur the vga chip...
Ebsy Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 djohng: I realise the concept of FBA-XXX Pro is from more of a collectors point of view, but is there any chance at all of adding hiscore.dat support to fba?. I realise we can use save states as a workaround but maybe an option of 'automatically loading last savestate' can be added?. The Neo-Geo memory card feature is buggy as doesn't work as intended so we haven't even the support for Neo-Geo scores. I'd really like to see some type of hi score support in FBA-XXX Pro someday. Thanks,Ebsy
Mystikos Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 (edited) no. Just got back to US from Argentina (real-life business related) I havent release yet, due to a bug in the video selection; it crept in before I left on my vacation & business trip. Just now jumping back in to squash it. Plus add more drivers, that have been recenttly added by others on the PC version. -djohng Yo Djohng! Please please add the CPS3 drivers to FBAXXXPro.. be awesome if you could..as you know the roms are avail at the usual places and a few CPS3 games aresupported in the latest mame build JoJo's Venture, Street Fighter III (2nd Impact), (3rd Strike), Red Earth Would the XBOX have enough power to handle the juice? CPS-3 for fba is being worked on. As for if the xbox can handle it... who knows? It all depends on what cpu core is used, how much work is needed to decode the graphics, etc. It is really too soon to know.
Ix444333 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 (edited) great news, Djohng! there's only really one thing i'm fussing about in FBA XXX Pro: it's arcade perfect display. i've been running FBA XXX Pro in my Aero City arcade cabinets for a long time now and i love it, but when i saw real arcade versions of Samurai Shodown 4 and Marvel VS Capcom recently, i could very easily tell between the two. i know it looks very, very close and plays exactly the same, but i can still see the difference. i'm using the settings that +T+ gave me some time ago when i asked him about this (i agree these look the best on my arcade monitors so far):No software filterFlicker Filter : 0Hardware Filter: Linear edit:this is a very crappy description of the difference that i see. when a large sprite suddenly moves from one position to another, i can still see several lines from that old sprite on the previous position for a REALLY short time. this is really obvious when there's a lot of motion on the screen, and somehow very obvious in KOF games. sorry if that's rather vague, i'll try and find a situation that clearly shows this the next time i play. + T + Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Unfortunately the display from FBA-XXX Pro will never be arcade perfect since the Xbox's video resolution is fixed at 640x480, approximately double the native resolution of the Neo-Geo system, so some form of upscaling will always be necessary to have the display fill the screen. The Xbox is incapable of playing these games in their original resolution hence the visible difference between the emulator and real hardware. I don't see how this is related to the sprite effect you describe though. I guess my eyes aren't as good as yours because I've never noticed anything of the sort myself. Try enabling some of the software filters and turning up the flicker filter to see if it makes any difference.
GLiTcH Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 cool, hope to see the bug fix when changing to 720p... n support 720p skinso traxen, sorry been busy thats why i havent send you the skins..
Ix444333 Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 oh, right, i guess there's nothing we can do about it, then. thanks again +T+! try playing KOF2k2 on those settings and doing yuri's stomp kick move, and look at her legs. i'm quite sure you'll notice that on an arcade monitor, but i don't know if it'll show on a TV. (i don't have an xbox hooked up to a TV at the moment.)
Cospefogo Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 (...) I'd really like to see some type of hi score support in FBA-XXX Pro someday. Thanks,Ebsy I second that! This is a very nice feature that I love on Mameox 128 - saving my hi-scores!Recently me and my friends discovered the old way of playing to beatthe others hi-scores... and it is a very exciting way of playing! Unfotunately FBA-XXX Pro does not handle it! Is there a way to have it implemented in the future? Cospefogo.
Mystikos Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 (edited) cool, hope to see the bug fix when changing to 720p... n support 720p skinso traxen, sorry been busy thats why i havent send you the skins.. very nice skin glitch! hiscores for FBAxxx - would be niiice!maybe see you guys on MARP someday DHJONG// Could you please add "sb2003" driver to the next FBA update? is that one possible or is that for Mame? Its Super Bobble 2003. Edited July 22, 2007 by Mystikos
Yarus Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Hello, Now that CPS3 protection was cracked and fully functional EMU is out (CPS2 drivers, but still) are there any plans to include CPS3 support into upcoming release of FBA-XXX-PRO 1.29 or 1.30? Perhaps, that is the reason for delay of release of 1.29. Great Job on FBA-XXX-PRO in general. It is without a doubt the best out there. I wish you all the best. Yarus
