DropDeadEd Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 it was pretty fun, I have it in it's packaging. I am considering playing it =3 edit: pics added by GameCop
Alpha Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 The controller looks like someone ripped out a bunch of Select/Start buttons from as many Super Nintendo controllers as they could find. I can't imagine trying to play a game with a controller like that.

Well it predates the Xbox. I liked the console. It just met a quick death though. I bought a brand new one for 10 dollars off Ebay. My original one died on me, like most systems for anyone, during childhood.

Gryph Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 That type pad thing is just an extension for the regular controller. It plugs into the bottom port. I didn't own one as a child but my best friend did and the only game we played was Tempest 2000. That was such a great game.
L.S.D Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Old NES system are still easily available here. And it's USD10 + 200-in-1 cartridge.
BlackKnight Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Yeh I've picked up old systems. SNES = $100 AUD w/ Killer Instinct, Super Mario Allstars and RARE's arcade stickSaturn = $5 AUD. That's right. With Night Warriors too.Dreamcast = $50 AUD with a bucketload of Jap region games and 2 controllers / VMUs. Unfortunately, Atari and friends predate me by too many years. In fact even the NES and Master System were on their way out during my time.

Mooney Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 I bought an SNES with two games and three controllers for $20 at a church rummage sale... and I got an NES with 2 controllers, two games (Tiger Heli, Mario + Duck Hunt 2-in-1) and a light gun for $10 in Iowa. Good times...
Agozer Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 The Jaguar has a near worthless library of games, and for Atari to ship a 3 button controller with the console is unforgivable when the SNES set the standard to 6 buttons the year prior. It didn't help much when Atari released a 6 button controller, because by that time the console was pretty much forgotten already. Then Atari as a console maker and a game developer crumbled under the mistakes it had done in the past. Heh, the Jaguar was supposed to be the first 64-bit console.
ken_cinder Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Yes, and it very much wasn't worth it in the end. At first it was cool, but software support was sorely lacking and the controller is THE worst design EVER.I also owned a 3DO, that cost me so much money I couldn't afford games for it.......not that there really were any worth buying anyway.I now have another 3DO, but I won't get a Jag again. I only collect standalone CD/DVD based systems.
Agozer Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 At least the 3DO was better than the CD-i. As far as Atari is concerned, their best console is still the Atari 2600. The Atari 5200 was once again hampered by serious design flaws (lovely controllers, don't you think?) and the thing was hueg liek teh xbox.
