I know the rest of you enjoy the community etc, but it's well known to many how much I dislike Timmah!

Glad to see him go, he's a disgrace to the emulation scene.

I suspect there are a lot of people who sympathise with you Cinder. For those who don't know, 'Timmah' is the owner of a@h, user name of Teckel. There are lots of stories about his behaviour, but as I joined late, and never visited that often, I'll leave it to others to explain it - if they want to.

It's not just his behaviour, but his sad attempt at exploiting the scene for financial gain.

Now he's not the first or only person to do so, but his methods were at times bold and outrageous.

he used to be a mame rom burner, however, he'd charge a fee for the roms as well as the discs (if you didn't provide them yourself)

but the point is he'd sell roms and that is a big no no

also the site had a lot of ads; you could become a premium member by signing up for the "Real Arcade" service and saying that you heard of it through A@H and you'd get no ads and your attack system stats were raised higher

...but, he'd get money out of ppl becoming premmies

That attack system was horrible! I hated it. The only people to benefit were high posters and mods - and Superman.

I'd heard stories of Tim's methods of appointing mods, and of threads being deleted because he felt like it, etc.

The forum had a good core of talkative ppl though. Where will they go now?

What ever happened with the story of him being the one who caused mame.dk to shut down? Did we ever find out if that was true or not?

I myself had some good times over there. But that place would easily bring out the worst in people. I myself was banned a few times because I would try to argue stuff with Tim.

He would always talk a lot of BS, and when someone would prove him wrong that person ended up banned.
