iq_132 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I guess I should start out that I live about 5 minutes from Michigan (international) Speedway. Having said that, I think I can now go on my rant. I just hate these idiots. I go to the largest town in the area (Jackson), and in the mall there are a tons of pushy, obnoxious morons, with breath-taking mullets. These people are loud and don't care that there are people at the mall to shop and not have idiots bumping into them and then being rude about it. The next thing that bothers me is the traffic. As soon as nas-tard week gets here, It's nearly impossible to drive on the main roads. Every mullet-ed idiot with a care and a case or two of beer is on the road and heading to MIS. Having to work 20 minutes away really sucks because I have to leave an extra 15-20 minutes to make it on time After the race, these drunken (sometimes angry) idiots are on the road again, tailgating, driving like they were actually racecar drivers, and just being dicks. This leads to the police being out in huge numbers and pulling everyone over that drives a little unusual or is out after 2 am (which I usually am), even if the driver made no mistakes. I got pulled over twice in 3 days last nascar week, and was never given a ticket Still quite aggrivating though... And really the last thing that annoys me about these Nas-tards is that they always leave the sides of the roads lined with beer cans, bottles, and other redneck paraphenalia. This just makes my town look terrible for weeks and requires quite a lot of cleanup time.

Gryph Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I hate Nascar but I'm sure I'd hate it more if I had to deal with all that. I pity you.
Weirdy Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 what's so fun about seeing a bunch of left turns anyway?

darkmage479 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I too fail to see the excitement in NASCAR, nor do i find explosions and fatalities compelling reasons to watch. I much prefer technical motorsports such as FIA, F1, and WRC to watching a bunch of 'redneck jackoffs driving around in a circle for hours'. Even worse, we never get to see - 'THE PITS EXPLODE!!!!!!!' Hooray for Carlin... A recent poll does show that NASCAR fans are some of the most loyal when it comes to buying the products that sponsors their drivers - rednecks certainly do display a herd mentality in more ways than just voting. 'If i wanted to watch something race around in circles for an hour, i'd tie a sock to my dog's tail, or maybe try flushing a ping-pong ball' - anonymous
Agozer Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 There is something very wrong in the world if people get excited about a bunch of nicely colored cars going fast on an oval track, always turning left. I've never seen anyting great in NASCAR, whether that be the actual "sport" or the video games.
Z-Neo Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 To be fair, they do race a couple of road course races each season, which have some right hand turns, lol. I try to catch a couple of races on TV every year, but usually I fall asleep about 30 laps end, and wake up with 10 laps to go.
iq_132 Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Well, it's finally over. We can all return to normalcy.
