DarkCloud12X Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 (edited) CPS2 games do not support region switching within the game since seperate boards were released for each region. So the only way to play a japanese version is to use the Japan ROMset. Neo-Geo games however, do allow region switching via the dipswitches. Perhaps this is what you remember.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> eh? back when CPS2 games were the new thing region codes were the only way to play certain titles in English while waiting for the US boards to be dumped. In fact there's an option in the original final burn (under control settings I do believe) just for that feature. Kawaks (pc) still supports this feature if you need to see it to know what to look for to enable it. Primarily i'm just speaking about the feature that will enable the japanese romsets to display the English text...it thinks it's the USA region but it's still the Japanese romset therefor Norimaru and anita can still be selected. DarkCloud12X Posted May 5, 2005 Posted May 5, 2005 For example i dug up an old cheat dat file for Final Burn Alpha for these two games. // Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter & Clones 1:mshvsf:1:4c8f:00:Region:Japan1:mshvsf:1:4c8f:02:Region:USA1:mshvsf:1:4c8f:04:Region:Hispanic1:mshvsf:1:4c8f:06:Region:Asia1:mshvsf:1:4c8f:08:Region:Euro1:mshvsf:1:4c8f:0a:Region:Brazil e:mshvsfj1:mshvsfj 1:mshvsfj:1:4c8f:00:Region:Japan1:mshvsfj:1:4c8f:02:Region:USA1:mshvsfj:1:4c8f:04:Region:Hispanic1:mshvsfj:1:4c8f:06:Region:Asia1:mshvsfj:1:4c8f:08:Region:Euro1:mshvsfj:1:4c8f:0a:Region:Brazil // Marvel Super Heroes & Clones e:msha:msh e:mshh:msh e:mshj:msh 1:msh:1:4c23:00:Region:Japan1:msh:1:4c23:02:Region:USA1:msh:1:4c23:04:Region:Hispanic1:msh:1:4c23:06:Region:Asia1:msh:1:4c23:08:Region:Euro1:msh:1:4c23:0a:Region:Brazil
Prican25 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 (edited) fba-xxx pro supports cheats so why not just use that? btw, i shorten your post since all the codes weren't needed to point out what you meant i also tried it and it works fine for mshjr1 tho i had to make an ini file for it but none the less it works bt anita doesn't even have a ending in the game so its pointless to even use the region code. Edited May 6, 2005 by Prican25
DarkCloud12X Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 Heh...i wasn't even aware FBAXXX Pro had an option to use cheats...there was no cheat directory in the distribution zip nor any mention of it in either GoGo's or +T+'s text files (that I saw)... How exactly did you set up the ini to enable region codes via the cheat dat to be used?
Prican25 Posted May 6, 2005 Posted May 6, 2005 well the cheats folder does come with team-xxx's release tho its empty in the latest version but basically if you can get any of the cheat ini's that work in pc fba, it will work on fba-xxx/pro. just remember to enbale cheats in the emu options
thchardcore Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Hey, I noticed a few graphical/runtime errors in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (all versions and releases) that were never fixed by the FBAXXX team. I asked them if they had plans to fix these bugs that basically destroy the ability to play the game correctly. They basically laughed at me. So now, I'm begging the FBAXXX Pro team to please fix these problems. The errors/bugs I speak of are... Graphical glitches are basically in all the new challenger's stages (Cammy, Dee-Jay, Fie-Long, T. Hawk) and some show up elsewhere too. Almost every stage has minor graphical bugs or wierd screen glitching and off timing. The musical also gets distorted. Most of the grphical glitches are where the stage floor meets the horizon and the background starts. There is like clipping and crap going on, Nasty. Thanks

thchardcore Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 (edited) Is this just in FBA-XXX or is it in PC FBA also? No, none of these errors show up in the pc version of FBA but show up in every cps2 emulator for xbox so far (yes, Kawa X too). I would be in complete awe if you could figure out a solution to the stated problem. Thanks Edited May 7, 2005 by thchardcore
+ T + Posted May 7, 2005 Author Posted May 7, 2005 I'll take a look at it. But can you be more specific about what you mean by 'off timing'?
Prican25 Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 well i let the game play a demo in fei long's stage and i didn't see a prob but if you can, try taking a snapshot in fba-xxx and post it here.
thchardcore Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 (edited) Okay, when I refer the the glitches, I will be as concise as possible. The feet of the people in T. Hawk's stage breaking up. Sound glitches, random slowdown if both characters jump... Cammy's stage. Right corner and upper background have minor glitching and break up. Ken's stage: Where the boat meets the water is where some breakup happens. I will try my best to get snapshots. It's not just me though, others have the problem also and it has been reported by a few others elsewhere. Thanks Any idea on if you can fix this? Edited May 9, 2005 by thchardcore
Prican25 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 well i still haven't seen the probs with ssf2t but it did lockup on me if i select cheats but i think its due to the cheats ini's i have being out of date as some roms have been renamed and such but i'm not 100% sure on that. also there a minor prob with changing the buttons as when i press white, it chooses black and the same for left/right trigger. not related to this but i also tested a ps2 to xbox/gc adpater that i bought for $3.99 at a pc show they have this weekend in nj ( www.pcshow.com ) with this and it works great but i gotta wait till my ps2 saturn pad comes to truely test it out if you got $8 for the entrance fee, i suggest you drop by the pc show and pick one up as its a bargin and theres a few other things for older consoles there as well
bilippe Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 hello ! can you say me if the problems ( resize menu screen , music in menu..) in last pro-relesase will soon solve? since a lot of days there are no news about these....
sammaz Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 (edited) i just finished a huge fbaxxx pro torrent and found its missing the same roms i was... lol? dam someone killed prican....ive tried for weeks Edited May 18, 2005 by sammaz
Truth Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Why can't great arcade shooters like Raiden II, or Raiden JET, Raiden Fighters, Brave Blade, Espuglade work on Final Burn???? Anyone working on them or will try too??? These are must haves...
