Chaotica Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 That looks like a "cooled" up Looney Toons. Why must everything kids absorb these days must be "cool." It sickens me to see little kids these days trying to be cool, when they should be at home playing with their action figures or dolls.

Right you are...they should make the Minister of Playtime. Anyways, just a few minutes ago, Sunday Morning aired a piece about the new show in the works. They talked to cartoon historians who felt that this attemp by Warner Brothers to revamp the characters is going beyond the scope and won't work. The reporter went around playground with a drawing of the new Bugs...one kid said it was an evil Bugs Bunny . A Warner Brothers rep. interviewed said that they are trying to extend the franchise..blah blah blah...and the characters are meant to stand on their own. At the end, the piece hinted at WB trying to respond to rivals programming that are hugely successful, as in DBZ, Spongebob etc. I think I'm starting to agree with you more Gryph...being that it will end up being ridiculously lame. Lucandrake Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 My sister watched the preview, and she nearly slapped me, she thought I made the loony tunes go retarded. Bleh, anyways, im going to go watch space jam now.
Gryph Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 That's hardly anime-style. I read about this yesterday and somehow I got Batman of the Future vibes.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>It's got both. Take a look at this screen cap of the only human that was barely shown: Now that is definitely anime style.
Sturmvogel Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 The way the character is drawn (from what little i can see) doesn't really resemble an anime type depiction. But even if it did, that doesn't translate to anime being crap. This thread is slowly leading to a referendum on anime....
Gryph Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 Oh well, it may not be anime style but it's still crap. Batman Beyond style sucked huge one too.

Agozer Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Oh if only we'd get the Road Runner, Bugs Bunny and Co. as saturday morning cartoons... I miss the old days.
Prican25 Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 yeah i saw this the other day on the news and all i can say is WTF Is WB Smoking? Taz to Spaz,Bugs to Buzz they shouldn't even let this deal with looney tunes as those are classic toons that should have never been changed. Btw, I actually liked the batman beyond tho it isn't as good as fox batman series but was getting better in its last season and had a good movie (return of the joker).
OverlordMondo Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 You people blow. They're pretty much taking a show with some retarded humor (by my standards) and making the characters go kick some ass. Wearing black no less. This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. And by retarded humor, I mean the humor actually focuses on people (or animalistic humanoids in this case) acting retarded. There's the antagonist, and the protaganist. The antagonists in the Looney Tunes always fail horribly, without any chance of recovery, and it sickens me. The humor involves cartoon violence (the show invented cartoon violence) which just isn't funny. I repeat, the show sickens me. This though, this is actually better than some of the crap WB throws out.
Z-Neo Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Saw about this on the news this week too. Mel Blanc, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, and Fritz Freleng are probably rolling in their graves right now. I see it lasting a season or two, that's about it.
Lucandrake Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 I see this being the next "pokemon" kind of craze, there probably going to bring out cards and whatnot, pretty soon a rpg to..
Shibathedog Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 I like certain Anime, some of it is boring and i seriously think some people only pretend to like it because its anime, because they will rant on about portals and souls for like 3 hours.
