Wizard Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Alrite, I am sharing this wonderful feat of mine to everyone here because...Well, I said to a few guys on irc I'd post pics. Short run down;On irc, practically everyone knows my old speakers suck. The old rear speakers kicked the bucket but the front, and sub+center still works. Yesterday, I got a new pair of 4.1s. Using a Y Cable provided with my new set, I have created Surround Sound 6.2, of course it isn't really offical or anything, but it's a strange and amazing feat no less. I used my old speaker set as my middle and the sub+center as the back center. Combined with my new speaker set, I have created The Poor Man's 6.2 Surround Sound System. A few things before It is properly set, is I need a an extra powerbar. PicsThe Front Sub+Center; The Back Sub+Center with the "middle" right on top of it;Middle Left (temp place until I make adjustments to the cord) and Rear Right; My Desk with the Front speakersThe lonesome Left Rear speaker There you have it. The Poor Man's 6.2 Surround Sound System. Never coming into existance for you. Am I computer/audio junkie or what Next project: 7.5 Surround Sound.
Gryph Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Haha! That's great. How does it sound? That Alienware sticker on your monitor disturbs me.
Wizard Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 LOL. Sounds absolutly kick ass. My room shakes when both sides are on full, this sound system rivals my stereo system, which is only 2 speakers.
Ryuken Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 what kind of wires r those near ur bed?? u should watch, and don't burn ur house down
Wizard Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 (edited) Those are unused plugs near the joystick, my lamp and clock radio are the only things that are hooked to that wall socket. Some other shots I took are of my room. I got hard drives, video cards and mother boards, even whole computers around me. In a neat fasion. Behind my Matrix Reloaded poster, 2 monitors. Daeval Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Nice setup! Your room looks HUGE and extremely messy.
Wizard Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 I haven't gotten the time to place some of my former belongings away, but I'll take more pics of my room afterwards, I had to say goodbye to the camera, wasn't mine.
Mag Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 What camera is it ? brand ? the quality is great.
Lucandrake Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Three words... K'Dash is rich. That's all I had to say, by the way, how much did your IpoD cost you? If I ever took pictures of my room and computer the pictures would all be black considering my room has no electricty!
Wizard Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 Ipod was my christmas present from my mom. Cost 429 CAD + $40 dollar rebate, could of gotten a $15 added more for the rebate, but I didn't buy the radio turner. I got the speakers on discount(maybe because I know one of the employees), original price is 60 bucks, I got them for 45. This is just all my stuff from the past 4 years. I don't like going out and buying tons of stuff (only when the money presents it self ). I've had the monitor for 3 years, my old 4.1 system (the white ones there, my "middle") I've had for 4 years. Matrix poster was 12 bucks For giggles my pc specs if some of you even care:ATi 9800 Pro 128MB @ 405/371AMD Athlon 64 3200+ at 2.55 GHz 754 PINOne 60 gig IDE drive 5200 RPM 6 mb cacheOne 120 gig IDE drive 7200 RPM 8mb cacheSamsung DVD-RomLG CD-DVD-+ RecorderA floppy drive that doesn't work. only there because I like floppy drives1GB OCZ PC3200 Ram I'm planning to upgrade the PSU to a 500W(not paying for it ;, upgrading to a 64 3400+ 754 (Don't feel like getting a new mobo that supports the 949 and 754 pinset), and a APG 8X Geforce 6800 next January.
Lucandrake Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Man, you lucky son of a bi***! I've been begging my mom for a IPOD for at least 3 months now, and the $300 one, with not enough gb for my songs....
Agozer Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 The iPod my friend got a while ago cost nearly € 800. That is way too much, although it's pretty as a storage media and portable music player.
