WWE Royal Rumble Results (1/30/05): Batista Wins The Rumble!

 

Event: WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View Results

WWE Royal Rumble Opener:

 

The Royal Rumble opened up with a video highlighting the Royal Rumble match integrated in with the Royal Rumble commercial. It hyped that the winner of the Rumble will go on their way to the main event of WrestleMania, and we will find out who that will be TONIGHT! The fireworks then went off in the arena as Michael Cole and Tazz welcomed us to Fresno. We then went over to Carlos and Hugo, the Spanish Announce Team before handing up to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler!

 

Referee:

Edge vs. Shawn Michaels

 

The music of Edge hit in the arena as he made his way to the ring for this big match with Shawn Michaels. These two have tons of history going back months, and this should be a good one!

 

The start:

 

Edge attacked Michaels as he got inside but HBK fought back with a back body drop and then clotheslined Edge out, and skinned the cat to get himself back inside. He then took off his entrance gear and Edge was not happy. Edge circled the ring before getting back inside. They locked up and Edge backed Michaels to the corner and went for a cheap shot but Michaels ducked and gave Edge a series of chops. Michaels sent Edge into the buckle, head first and then continued to chop away on Edge.

 

Mid-match notes:

 

Edge came back with a swinging neck breaker to take HBK down and then gave him a series of right hands. Michaels came back with right hands of his own until edge scored with a thumb to the eyes. Edge scored with a chop but Michaels came back with Thesz press and hit some mounted punches before sending Edge over the top to the outside. HBK went for a baseball slide but Edge avoided it and they traded some more right hands before Edge scored with the Edgeomatic on the outside. Edge rolled back in and then knocked HBK down again with a baseball slide.

 

Edge drove an elbow into the back of Michaels head but Michaels fought back with right hands. HBK went for a dropkick but Edge reversed into a sit out powerbomb for two. Edge locked in a rear naked choke with a body scissors on Michaels in the middle of the ring as the fans chanted “HBK, HBK”. Michaels got back to a vertical base and elbowed out and then hit a chop but Edge pulled him down by the hair! Edge then mocked HBK by doing his pose, and then gave him a right hand. Edge sent Michaels face first into the buckle and whipped him hard to the corner. Edge then hung Michaels over the top rope while dropping down to the outside. Edge went up top and came off with a cross body but Michaels ducked and then got Edge in a Oklahoma Roll for two! Edge quickly got back up and hit a super kick for two.

 

Edge pulled Michaels up by the hair and then drove him into the mat. Edge went for a back suplex, but Michaels reversed for two but Edge got up first and knocked Michaels down with a clothesline. Edge then went back to a rest hold as the fans got behind HBK. Michaels elbowed out again and scored with a forearm and some more chops and then scored with a knee lift and sledge to knock Edge down. HBK scored with a reverse atomic drop and a right hand before going to work with more chops in the corner. HBK gave Edge some mounted punches in the corner and then hit a sunset flip for two. Michaels catapulted Edge into the corner and rolled him up for two and Edge bailed to the outside and started walking up the aisle but HBK followed him and hit him with another chop.

 

The referee had HBK tied up and Edge came out of nowhere with the Spear on the outside to lay out Michaels. Edge got back into the ring as the referee began his count. HBK made it back inside at the count of nine and Edge mocked Michaels some more. Edge stomped his feet in the corner and went for Sweet Chin Music, but hit the Spear instead but Michaels kicked up! Edge couldn’t believe it! Edge perched Michaels on the top rope and climbed up himself but Michaels hit some right hands on Edge and knocked him down. Michaels then came off with an elbow drop on Edge and both men are down!

 

The Finish:

 

Michaels was first to his feet and started tuning up the band in the corner. Michaels went for Sweet Chin Music but Edge ducked and scored with the Electric Chair and made the cover but Michaels kicked out! Edge and Michaels traded some shots and then Michaels hit a sunset flip but Edge rolled through and then locked in his submission hold in the middle of the ring! Michaels is writhing in pain trying to make it to the ropes and he finally did so. Edge then went to lock it in again, but Michaels got an inside cradle for two! Edge picked up Michaels but Michaels dropped out behind and got a rollup, but Edge reversed it and then grabbed the ropes for leverage and Edge has beaten Shawn Michaels!

 

Winner - Edge

 

Backstage, Eric Bischoff and Teddy Long were shown by the trombola where the superstars will draw their numbers. The two argued as to which brand member will win the rumble. Christy and Torrie were in control of the trombola. Ric Flair and Eddie Guerrero were the first two to enter. Flair drew his number as did Eddie and Ric looked very pleased while Eddie looked a little disappointed. Ric danced with Torrie a little and Eddie shook his hand and they hugged. Christy asked Ric what number he got and he showed it to her and then stomped dancing all of a sudden, and Eddie stole his number!!

 

Heidenreich was shown looking disturbed, saying that he hates caskets. Snitsky then showed up and said he heard Heidenreich didn’t like caskets. Snitsky said he didn’t like them either, but he does like Heidenreich. Heidenreich said he likes Snitsky too, but he still hates caskets. Snitsky said he has an idea. Weird.

 

Casket Match

Heidenreich vs. The Undertaker

 

Some druid music played as they brought the casket out to the ring. The music of Heidenreich then hit as he made his way out and was very wary of the casket. The arena then faded to black as the Undertaker’s music filled the arena.

 

The start:

 

Undertaker and Heidenreich locked up and Taker grabbed a side headlock and tried to drag him towards the casket but Heidenreich backed off. They locked up again and Taker again tried to drag Heidenreich but Heidenreich escaped and Undertaker hit a shoulder block, followed by a hip toss and then an arm drab into an arm bar. Another tie up and Heidenreich got a side headlock this time but Taker whipped him off and Heidenreich came back with a shoulder block. Another lock up and side headlock by Heidenreich and another shoulder block by Heidenreich. Taker came back with a takedown and then hit an elbow to the mid section and locked in a single leg Boston crab.

 

Mid-match notes:

 

Heidenreich escaped to the outside, right near the casket and it freaked him out. The Undertaker followed him out and hit a knee to the gut, but Heidenreich then whipped Taker into the casket and scored with some big right hands. Heidenreich sent the Undertaker into the casket head first again and then sent him back inside the ring. Heidenreich hit some rights and lefts in the corner and then stomped away at the Dead Man. Heidenreich scored with some body shots in the corner and screamed at Taker and then grabbed him by the throat, but Taker got him in a triangle choke on the ropes! Taker then dropped down to the mat with the choke still in tact as the fans started to boo and Gene Snitsky came out and started stomping on Taker! The fans heavily booed Snitsky as he scored with a big clothesline on Taker! The fans chanted for Kane as Snitsky and Heidenreich picked up the Taker and hit a double team suplex.

 

Heidenreich and Snitsky then hit stereo elbow drops and then dragged him to the casket but Kane was in it! Kane sat up and got in the ring and went to work on both Snitsky and Heidenreich. Kane kicked Heidenreich to the outside and gave Snitsky some right hands and both men went over the top and he continued to wail away on Snitsky, sending him through the crowd and continuing his beat down! Heidenreich then started shoving the casket up the aisle as Taker came from behind. Taker drove him head first into the casket and then whipped him, but Heidenreich reversed sending Undertaker knee first into the steps. Heidenreich then started to rip up the padding at ringside and gave Taker some more right hands.

 

Heidenreich peaked in the casket and then rammed it into the Undertaker! Undertaker has to be out after that! Heidenreich picked him up and shoved him back into the ring. Heidenreich locked in a Million Dollar Dream.

Heidenreich shoved him inside and went to shut the lid, but Taker shoved him arm out and started fighting back with right hands. The Undertaker then dragged Heidenreich into the casket, and then dropped a leg onto the casket as Heidenreich was half in and half out! A holy crap chant started up and Heidenreich is then dragged back into the ring by the Dead Man. The Undertaker then grabbed him by the throat but Heidenreich escaped with a headbutt and then Taker came back with a charge, but Heidenreich countered into a side walk slam!

 

The Finish:

 

Heidenreich tried to drag the Undertaker towards the casket and he rolled him inside and went to close the lid, but Taker grabbed him by the throat and battled out. Back in the ring and Heidenreich and the Undertaker traded right hands. The Undertaker hit a huge DDT on Heidenreich and then signalled for the chokeslam. The Undertaker grabbed Heidenreich by the throat and scored with the chokeslam and then ran the finger across his throat and picked Heidenreich up and gave him the Tombstone! The Undertaker then rolled Heidenreich into the casket and closed the lid and this one is over!

Backstage:

 

Eddie was backstage with Teddy Long and Long was asking for Flair’s number back. Evolution then stormed in and Eddie pretended he didn’t know what he was talking about. Eddie finally gave it back and Teddy gave it to Flair. Eddie then gave back Flair’s wallet too! HAHAH! Batista then said he had to go to Bischoff’s office, and Triple H said they need to go over what they are going to do with Orton. Batista said he would be right back but both he and Triple H got in each other’s face before Flair calmed them down.

 

Backstage:

 

Bischoff was backstage with Christian and Tyson Tomko and teddy came back and Christian said he just signed a petition to get Long kicked off Smackdown! Christian made his draw and looked very pleased with it. John Cena then turned up and shook hands with Long and Bischoff. Cena flirted with Christy and Torrie. Christian said Cena didn’t impress him, and rapping isn’t even that hard. Christian said he can beat Cena any day! Christian did a rap and it wasn’t too bad! Cena then came back with a rap of his own and told Christian can pick his number since he likes playing with balls!

 

WWE Championship Match

Triple Threat Match

The Big Show vs. Kurt Angle vs. JBL (WWE Title)

 

The music of Kurt Angle hit in the arena as he made his way down the aisle for his shot at the WWE Championship in this Triple Threat Match with the Big Show and WWE Champion, John Bradshaw Layfield!

 

The start:

 

The Big Show and JBL started it off with a right hand from JBL but Big Show came back with a shoulder block and then a big head butt. Show chopped JBL in the corner and gave him another big head butt. Show chopped away at JBL in the corner and then whipped him to the opposite corner. JBL came off the middle rope but Show caught him and slammed him down and then hit a leg drop and made the cover but Angle came inside to break it. Show gave Angle some head butts and chops and then went back to JBL and gave him a big right. JBL fought back with right hands and went for a suplex, but Show reversed with one of his own. Show then knocked Angle down with a big boot and Show is dominating.

 

Mid-match notes:

 

The Big Show then clotheslined both Angle and JBL to the outside and then went out himself and knocked JBL down with a right, and then sent Angle head first into the steps. Show whipped JBL into the ring post and Angle went for a German, but Show gave him a butt bump. Show ripped apart the steel steps and put them in position and then started to dismantle the announce table. Show climbed up the steps and grabbed JBL by the neck and went for a chokeslam but Angle came from behind with a low blow and then hit show in the head with a monitor, sending Show crashing through the announce table! Angle then took over on JBL with right hands and forearms and then sent JBL back inside but JBL came back with some clubbing shots to the back. Angle fought back with an arm drag into an arm bar as we take another look at Show crashing through the table.

 

Angle worked over the arm of JBL but JBL came back with a right hand and then hit a clothesline on Angle in the corner. JBL whipped Angle to the other corner but Angle moved when JBL charged in, and scored with a German. Angle went for another but JBL held onto the ropes and then escaped and went for the Clothesline From Hell but Angle ducked and he hit another German. Angle went for the Angle Slam but JBL fell out and hit a big boot for two. Show is back inside and knocked both Angle and JBL down with a clothesline and handed out some head butts. He gave JBL a scoop slam and then slammed Angle on top of JBL. Show whipped JBL into Angle in the corner and then squashed them both and scored with another double clothesline! Show signalled for the chokeslam and grabbed them both, but JBL hit a clothesline from hell as Angle hit a leg sweep at the same time on Show! Angle took over on JBL with a German for two and then hit the Angle Slam on Show!

 

The Finish:

 

JBL went for the clothesline from hell on Show but Show caught him by the throat and hit the chokeslam, but JBL got his feet on the bottom rope! JBL and Angle are now both on the outside and Show follows them out and then charged at JBL and knocked him right through the barricade! Holy crap! Angle is back up and in the ring and he has a steel chair. Show is back on his feet and got back inside, but Angle is hiding the chair and Show can’t see it! Show got back in the ring and the Basham’s came down with tend to JBL. Angle went for a chair shot on Show, but Show ducked and hit a big slam and made the cover but Reigns and Jindrak came out and double teamed the Big Show as Orlando came down to check on the champ as well. Show fought off Jindrak and Reigns and Orton helped JBL up and placed him back in the ring. Angle turned around and walked right into a clothesline from hell and JBL has won it!

Backstage:

 

Batista is shown backstage and Carlito came up to him and asked him to sign the petition to get rid of Long. Batista said he isn’t going to sign it. Carlito took a bite of his apple and Batista asked Carlito if he saw RAW last week. Did he see what he did with the flagpole? Imagine what he would do with that petition! Batista continued on his way and picked his number. Meanwhile, Bischoff banned Evolution from ringside of the World Championship Match. Bischoff asked Batista if he would like to tell Triple H or should he? Batista said he would do it, with a smirk.

 

WrestleMania Goes Hollywood:

 

Eugene is shown in a commercial and it is a take off of Forest Gump. He offers some woman a chocolate and then said the famous line. He said life is more like WrestleMania and started talking about some big moments, and then knocked the woman out by accident. Regal then came up and screamed “Run Eugene! Run!” Funny!

 

World Championship Match

Randy Orton vs. Triple H ©

 

The music of Randy Orton hit in the arena as he made his way out for a shot at the World Championship against his former Evolution team mate, Triple H, and Evolution are barred from ringside! The music of Triple H then hit and he made his way to the ring as the World Champion.

 

The start:

 

Randy Orton shoved Triple H and they went it and Orton with a backslide for two. Orton went to work with right hands on Triple H and then sent him to the buckle and hit a back body drop. Orton went for the RKO but Triple H bailed outside. Orton followed out and sent The Game into the apron and then shoved him back inside and hit a big dropkick for two. Orton went to work on Triple H in the corner with right hands but Triple H hit a shot to the mid section. Orton with more right hands and the Game with another low shot and then hit some mounted punches in the corner but Orton hit Snake Eyes and went for the RKO, but Triple H tossed him out!

 

Mid-match notes:

 

Triple H went out and then whipped Orton into the steel steps and then got back inside the ring. Orton got back inside and Triple H hit some knees to the back and then stomped away at him and then choked him in the ropes. Triple H gave Orton a big right hand and then whipped him to the corner and charged in but Orton got his boot up and scored with some right hands of his own. The fans started a “Randy Sucks!” chant as Triple H took him down by his injured right knee. Triple H wrapped Orton’s leg around the ring post and Orton is down on the outside. Triple H shoved him back inside and hit a chop block to the bandaged knee of Orton.

 

Triple H drove the knee of Orton into the canvas and then wrenched on the knee. Orton is down on the mat in lots of pain and Triple H went for the Figure Four but Orton got an inside cradle for two! Triple H then went right back to the knee and locked in the Figure Four on Orton in the middle of the ring. Orton was so close to the ropes but Triple H dragged him back to the middle of the ring and Orton is writhing in pain. Triple H slapped Orton while locked in the figure four, and Orton then tried to turn the move over, which he succeeded in doing! Triple H made it to the ropes quickly and went right back to the injured knee of Orton. Triple H dragged Orton’s knee to the ring apron and drove it hard into the canvas. Orton then shoved Triple H off and Triple H went flying over the Spanish Announce Table!

 

Triple H got back inside but Orton is up and hit his modified back breaker and the crowd started to boo. Orton went to work with right hands and some lefts as well. He was relentless with rights and lefts in the corner and then hit a swinging neck breaker out of the corner for a near fall. Orton hit another modified neck breaker for two. Triple H charged at Orton but Orton hit a power slam for two. Orton stomped the Game in the corner and then went for some punches but Hunter hit an inverted atomic drop. Triple H went up top but Orton got up and gave Hunter a right and arm dragged him down to the mat. Orton then went up himself and came off with a cross body for a close count!

 

Orton hit a big right hand and whipped Triple H to the ropes, but Triple H hit the face buster and then went for the Pedigree but Orton countered and catapulted Hunter into the turnbuckle and signalled for the RKO but Hunter shoved him off and then charged at Orton with the high knee and got his arm over Orton for a near fall! Orton is bleeding from the mouth and Hunter went for the Pedigree again but Orton countered and scored with a clothesline for two! Triple H rolled to the outside but Orton followed him out and sent him into the barricade and the steel steps. Back inside and Triple H started to beg off. Orton hit some body shots in the corner and Hunter is out on his feet but Orton won’t let him fall! Orton went for a DDT but Triple H hooked the ropes and Orton crashed and burned.

 

Orton’s head bounced right off the canvas and he has a far away look in his eyes as he rolled to the outside. Orton is very groggy here as the referee told him to get in the ring. Orton rolled back in and I’m not sure if this is legit or not. Triple H then stormed in and knocked Orton down HARD but Orton crashed into the referee! Triple H then hit a shot to the back of the head of Orton to send him outside. I guess it wasn’t legit after all. Triple H went to the outside and he now has his sledgehammer. Triple H went for Orton, but Orton hit a drop toe hold sending Hunter into the ring post but Orton still has a far away look. Triple H got back inside the ring and Orton pulled himself in and he saw the sledgehammer. Orton picked up the sledgehammer but Triple H exploded with a huge clothesline to knock Orton down. Triple H now has the sledgehammer again but the referee began to stir so Hunter chucked it to the outside. Triple H then went for the Pedigree and scored with it. Triple H then made the cover and Triple H has retained his World Championship!

Backstage:

 

Nunzio is backstage and he said he has a spot in the Rumble. Angle then came up and took his number. Nunzio said it was his spot, and Angle said they should fight for it. Nunzio then left and it looks like Angle is in the Rumble!

 

Backstage:

 

Long and Bischoff were shown and they were talking but then JBL stormed in with his cabinet drinking champagne. JBL said hello to Bischoff and JBL taunted Long but Long said since JBL is here, he wanted to tell JBL about his next WWE Title Match. Long said that at Smackdown’s next pay-per-view, No Way Out, what is going to happen is that he will face the man he didn’t pin tonight, the Big Show! JBL said he will beat Big Show like Big Show would eat a pizza! Long then said that there will be no outside interference at No Way Out because for the first time in WWE History, this will be a barbwire steel cage match! JBL then went all quiet as we went back to Cole and Tazz at ringside and Tazz and JR and going to call this one!

 

Royal Rumble Match

 

The music of Eddie Guerrero hit in the arena and he has drawn number one in the Rumble! The music of Chris Benoit then hit and he has drawn number two! Benoit and Guerrero locked up and Benoit backed Eddie to the corner but Eddie reversed and broke clean. They locked up again and Benoit hit an arm drag. Eddie grabbed a side headlock into a hammerlock. The fans heavily chanted for Eddie as he hit a snapmare into a headlock. Benoit whipped Eddie to the ropes but Eddie came back with a shoulder block and Daniel Puder is the third entrant!

 

Benoit stomped away at Guerrero as Puder got in the ring and then slid out. Puder got on the microphone and said that they are about to witness history! Puder said he will be the first Tough Enough champion to win the Rumble! Puder got inside and Benoit and Guerrero both stared at him. Benoit chopped him and the two took turns on Puder lighting up the chest of the young man. They then hit a double vertical on Puder and then Benoit gave him a back suplex. Guerrero then hit the Three Amigos as the clock began to countdown for the fourth entrant and it’s Hardcore Holly!

 

Holly got into the ring and Guerrero and Benoit backed off, leaving Puder for Holly. Holly chopped away at Puder in the corner. Benoit then took his turn and then held Puder for Holly to chop him some more and Puder’s chest is bright red. Eddie then took some more chops on Puder and Holly hit his shot to the mid section while he held Puder on the ropes. Holly then took Puder down with the Alabama Slam as the fifth entrant came down and it’s the Hurricane! Puder was tossed out and then Guerrero and Benoit tossed out Holly! Hurricane got in the ring and Benoit and Guerrero took turns chopping on him and hit a double back elbow and then Guerrero went to eliminate Benoit but Benoit blocked it and the two chopped away at each other. Hurricane hit a neck breaker off the top on Guerrero and Benoit took over on the Hurricane. Benoit sent Hurricane into Guerrero who back dropped him to the outside and the next entrant made his way down and it’s Kenzo Suzuki!

 

Kenzo got into the ring and Benoit and Guerrero waited for him. Guerrero held Suzuki and Benoit chopped at him. Guerrero hit a drop kick and Benoit scored with a snap suplex. Kenzo fought back with chops of his own but Benoit and Guerrero were too much for him. Guerrero gave Kenzo a back suplex and then Benoit took over on Guerrero and tossed him over but Guerrero held on as the countdown began again and the next entrant is Edge! Edge stormed to the ring and hit some shoulders on Guerrero and then took over on Benoit. Edge hit a dropkick on Guerrero and tried to get him over but Guerrero was hooked in the ropes. Edge was sent to the ropes by Benoit and he knocked him down with a shoulder block and then Kenzo went to work on Benoit as the countdown began again and out comes Rey Mysterio! Rey ran down to the ring and went after Eddie, and then Edge. Rey hit a bulldog on Edge and then a dropkick on Benoit. Kenzo got Rey up and went to toss him over but Rey hit a headscissors sending Suzuki to the outside!

 

Eddie hit a back breaker on Mysterio and then did the same to Benoit and the countdown started again and out comes Shelton Benjamin who is the Intercontinental Champion! Benjamin knocked Edge down with a reverse elbow and then gave Eddie a back body drop. Shelton went to work on Edge in the corner while Benoit was going at it with Rey and Benoit tried to get Rey out but he held on for dear life. Guerrero then came from behind Benoit and tried to get him over and then Rey hit a chop block on Shelton Benjamin as our next entrant came down and it’s Booker T! Booker went right after Edge and hammered away on him in the corner and knocked him down with a side kick. Guerrero was taken down to the mat by Benoit and Rey almost has Shelton out as Bischoff came down the aisle and it looks like he is cheering on the RAW guys. The countdown started up again and the next entrant is Chris Jericho!

 

Jericho went after Mysterio and then knocked down Benjamin and then got a piece of Booker T. Jericho slammed Edge down and then went to work on Eddie. Mysterio is trying to push Edge out and Benjamin is working over Benoit. Teddy Long then came down to cheer on the Smackdown! guys. Benjamin and Booker T are now going at it as the next entrant comes down and it’s Luther Reigns! Reigns got inside and went after Jericho and choked him in the corner. They then started teaming off with each other and it’s the RAW guys vs. the Smackdown guys! They all mounted off at each other and BOOM, rights and lefts by everyone. The countdown started up again and Shelton was almost eliminated as Muhammad Hassan made his way down with Daivari.

 

Everyone in the ring looked at the aisle way as Hassan made his way down. The fans heavily chanted USA as Hassan got into the ring and all the guys in the ring and stared at him! He got inside and he is surrounded! Everyone unloaded on Hassan and stomped away at him and then they held him in position for the 619 by Mysterio and then they all picked him up and tossed him out! The next entrant then came down and it’s Orlando Jordan! Booker has Rey on the turnbuckles but Rey has a good grip. Orlando went after Luther but Benoit and Booker then took over on Jordan. Shelton and Jericho are going at it and Shelton got Jericho on the apron and Jericho managed to stay in. The countdown started again and out came Scotty Too Hotty! Hassan then attacked Scotty from behind as he was making his way back and locked in the Camel Clutch in the aisle and Scotty is down and out.

 

Shelton hit a splash on Edge in the corner and Edge was almost sent out by Benjamin. Benoit chopped away at Reigns and then the next entrant came down, and it’s Charlie Haas! Haas went right to work on Benoit and was then knocked down with a kick from Booker. Reigns took over on Booker but then Booker sent Luther out with a clothesline and then Orlando was taken out by Booker! Booker did the spinaroonie but then Eddie sent him to the outside! Booker was mad on the outside and Eddie reminded him it was every man for themselves. Haas and Benjamin double teamed Eddie in the corner and Benoit and Rey were double teaming Edge as Rene Dupree made his way out as the next entrant. Dupree went after Mysterio but Haas then attacked Rene from behind. Haas and Benjamin then hit their old double team move and Rey hit a spinning wheel kick on Rey. Shelton went for a splash on Edge, but Edge moved and eliminated Shelton!

 

The next entrant came down and it’s Simon Dean! Simon went into his bag and grabbed his weight belt and put on started to warm up on the outside and Eddie was tossed by Edge! Jericho then dropkicked Edge from behind and hammered away at him as Benoit is chopping Haas in the corner. Dean was still doing push ups on the outside and HBK made his way down as the next entrant! HBK went right after Edge and then clotheslined Simon Dean to the outside. Shawn gave Haas some rights and gave Mysterio an elbow. Haas took over with some shots on HBK. Edge is stalking Rey but Rey keeps escaping. HBK sent Charlie Haas to the outside and the next entrant came down and it’s Kurt Angle! Angle ran to the ring and gave Benoit a German and gave Rey a belly to belly. He then gave Jericho a German and gave Edge the Angle Slam. He then hit the Angle Slam on Dupree and went for one on HBK, but HBK ducked and went for Sweet Chin Music but Angle grabbed the foot and locked in the Ankle Lock, but Shawn escaped and gave Angle the Sweet Chin Music to eliminate him!

 

The countdown began and the next entrant made his way down and it’s the Coach! Benoit knocked down Rey with a back elbow as Coach got inside. Coach attacked Benoit and then ran off. Benoit cornered him and stomped him in the corner and Coach is holding on the ropes. Benoit ripped off his shirt as Jericho tried to eliminate Rey but Rey got Jericho by the head and dragged Jericho to the apron and both are safe as Mark Jindrak made his entrance. Jindrak went right after Dupree as Angle back came in from nowhere and eliminated Shawn Michaels and then knocked him out with the steel steps! HBK is busted wide open as Angle unloaded with some more right hands and then locked in the Ankle Lock on HBK! The referees came down to broke it up and Angle has snapped here at the Rumble and HBK is eliminated.

 

Rey hit a bronco buster on Coach in the corner as Gene Snitsky made his way down. Snitsky knocked down Edge and gave Rey a big boot. Snitsky knocked Benoit down with a shoulder block but London went to work with some forearms and grabbed a sleeper but Snitsky swatted him off to the apron and then hit a mighty clothesline to knock London to the outside and he flipped over on the way down and almost landed on his head! Cena and Snitsky had a stare down and Snitsky went for the FU but Snitsky escaped as Kane made his entrance! Kane went right for Snitsky but Snitsky caught him coming in with stomps. Kane came back with a clothesline and then he gave a chokeslam to Edge, and then one to Benoit, and one to Cena! Kane chokeslammed Jericho and then did the same to Rey! Kane is taking everyone one! Kane then tossed Jindrak to the outside and Coach attacked Kane from behind. Kane grabbed him by the throat but Snitsky attacked Kane from behind as Snitsky hit a pumphandle.

 

Shawn Michaels was taken out on the stretcher as Batista made his way out to a monster pop and he clotheslined Snitsky right out! Kane and Batista were face to face and went at it with each other and Batista hit the Batista Bomb on Kane! The fans heavily chanted Batista as he eliminated Jericho! Batista tossed Edge to the apron, but Edge held on. The next entrant came down and it’s Christian who is accompanied by Tomko. Christian went after Cena but Cena came back with right hands and stomps in the corner. Rey hit the 619 on Kane and then Cena hit the FU on Kane to the outside! Cena and Rey celebrated tonight and then started working together. The Nature Boy then made his way down as the 30th entrant. Batista and Flair high fived and Flair went to work on Coach and then Batista hit a big spinebuster on him. Flair then tossed Coach to the outside.

 

Batista hit the spinebuster on Christian and then military pressed him to the floor and he landed on Coach! Flair and Benoit traded chops and then Batista hit the spinebuster on Benoit! Flair and Batista then tossed Benoit to the outside. Flair then went to toss Batista but Batista was going nowhere! Edge and Rey then hit a double dropkick on Batista and Edge then took Flair down and tossed him out and we are down to the final four! Batista, Edge, Cena and Mysterio! Edge went after Rey but Batista took over on Edge, but Edge came back with the spear, and he then hit the Spear on Cena! He went for the spear on Rey but Rey dodged it and hit the 619! Rey was then sent to the apron by Edge and Edge speared him off the apron and we are down to three!

 

Edge went to work on Cena but Cena managed to get him out and we are down to the final two, Cena and Batista! Cena hit a right hand and went to work but Batista hit a low blow but Cena came back and picked Batista up for the FU and went to throw him over but Batista kept blocking! Batista then came back and went for the Batista Bomb but Cena took him over and both men went over and hit at the same time and both men hit at the same time! The referees held Batista’s hand up, and then they held up Cena’s hand and they can’t decide the winner! Vince McMahon then strutted down to ringside and he doesn’t look happy! They all argued around Vince pleading their case and then Batista tossed Cena to the outside. Cena came back in and threw Batista out and Vince is just sitting there!

 

Fink announced that the match will be restarted and it’s Batista and Cena! They went at it and Cena picked up Batista for the FU but Batista reversed into a spinebuster and then tossed Cena to the outside and Batista is going to WrestleMania! Batista has won the Royal Rumble!

i jus posted a huge results post in my wrestling forum so im jus gonna say that it was one of the best ive seen. tho it was super-predictable, i dont care, it was awesome. New Year's Revolution looked like recess compared to Royal RUmble 2005

Royal Rumble was awesome, probabaly one of the best Royal Rumble's I've ever seen. IMO the best Royal Rumble ever is in 2000 with HHH Vs. Cactus Jack. The double elimination at the end was just hilarious when Vince McMahon came out. For anyone who orders this show, your going to get your money's worth. <_>

I seen this one coming from a mile away. but I am glad. batista is ready to turn on HHH. now my bet is it will be Batista Vs HHH Vs Orton at 'Maina with Orton winning the strap, HHH going to film Conan and Batista to become the main heal while he's gone.
