  1. Well so far the Nintendo DS emulators still have not been perfected so you won't really be able to play Blue Rescue Team but Red Rescue Team is for the GBA and the best emulator for that system is VisualBoy Advance. You can download it here: http://vba.ngemu.com/ They haven't updated the official version in a while but since it's an open source emulator there have been many 3rd-party versions such as vba-link which let's you link two games together much like on of the old Gameboy Color emulators did. Now as far as being able to play the game you will need what is know as the rom which is a file that contains all of the data that is on the chip in the actual cartriges. You can either "rip" the cartrige yourself or download it from the internet. However due to the rules of this forum I cannot give you any links to the roms so I'm afraid you're on you're own there.
  2. This is my recording of Kindom Hearts running in the latest version of pcsx2 that I uploaded into 3 parts on YouTube. To see the hardware I'm running this on click on the xfire image in my sig and scroll down to the bottom where it says "Gaming Rig". Let me know what you think.
  3. The whole point of this swap trick is so you don't have to use a mod chip. The only downside to this method is that anti-mod protected games will not run. If you are trying to load such a game you will get a "Software Terminated" message shortly after the games starts. Now as far as you not being able to load your disc at all it might help if you explain 1) how you are burning your discs and 2) just what you are doing and what "cheat disc" you are using when performing this swap trick.
  4. Unfortunately no. I will admit I didn't really have much hope in the first place but I figured it was worth a shot. The only thing I can hope for now is that someone makes a program to help with this problem. For now either continue to use your save state or start a new game with the vba-over.ini file setting. I know it's a pain to have to start all over again and I've had to do this as well but sometime you gotta do what you gotta do. I've tried to provide as much help as I can in this topic and will continue to improve a bit on it (perhaps by reposting everything in a more linear format on my web site) so that someone can find it useful. However I have notice many people don't really take the time to actually read what I've posted and ask me questions that I've already answered. Now, I'm not upset by this and will still continue to help out everyone I can but just be sure to read everything in this topic first so I don't have to keep repeating myself. Also, if anyone has any programming skills do you think you can help with this little problem these people are having with thier saves? I've managed to use a program that shows Pokemon they have by reading the save file and they have come way too far to have to start over (this does not include the person with the Red Rescue Team problem although I am still surprised at how far you got by using save states alone).
  5. Tomb Raider: Legend is easier to control if you have a playstation game pad which is what I used to play the game. Also, I believe you can change the camera behavior in the options menu.
  6. I have completed Tomb Raider on both PC and PSX, Tomb Raider: The Last Revolation on PSX, and Tomb Raider: Legend on PC using a PSX style contoller so yes it is possible to beat it.
  7. Actually the vba-over.ini file is mentioned in VBA's readme file and has been part of the emulator for some time. The only reason people are having problems with the Pokemon games is because VBA isn't detecting the save type correctly and the vba-over.ini file is what has to be used to force VBA to use the correct save type for some games that won't work properly otherwise. [EDIT] @Monkey D. Luffy: I got your email but it seems you forgot to attach you save state file to it.
  8. @djdan1791: If you haven't been able to save then just delete the save and VBA will make a new one that is 128k in size. @Monkey D. Luffy: hmm....send me your save state and I might be able to try something to get you a working sav file from it.
  9. There is a possible way to fix the save if that save was created using the IPS patch. Email me your save file (haldrie@aim.com) and I will see if I can fix it for you and send you the corrected save file. Note however that if you are using save states then there is nothing I can do for you and yes you will have to start over. [EDIT] Also if you use the vba-over.ini file DO NOT change the save properties in VBA. This will cause problems for games that use 64k Flash saves similar to the ones people are experiencing with the Pokemon games. The vba-over.ini file is used to override VBA's settings for specific games. The only games that are in the file in my post on the previous page are the US Pokemon games.
  10. Wow that PS2 media player on that site actully plays the video for the Ace Combat 4 game! (Just no sound. )
  11. In all honesty I haven't tried my burned copy in an actually psx but it does run on that old CD burner I mentioned in the first post. It just doesn't seem to want to run in any other drive for some reason. Oh well I run off images and emulators now anyway but thanks for the info (finally) and hopefully someone else will find this information useful.
  12. The only reason you would need to set the booktype (to DVD-ROM obviously) is to make the disc compatible with other devices such as DVD Players and the PS2. This can also be useful for DVD-ROM drives that can't read DVD+R/RWs. I actually have a DVD Player that can't read burned DVDs unless they are booktyped to DVD-ROM so being able to set the booktype is very useful for me.
  13. It seems that my method won't work with this save. If someone can get me the IPS patch for the German version of Pokemon Emerald so I can help this guy it would be appreciated as I might be able to use it for this.
  14. Unfortunatly it would seem that this flash card does not support 128k flash saves that are required to save properly in the Pokemon games. Simply setting the save type in VBA will not change anything. There is a method that might work but it is only said to work for saves that were made using saves that were made by the IPS save patches for the Pokemon games. Send me your save file (haldrie@aim.com) and I will see if I can fix it for you with this method. Now as far as trading between games the only way this is possible by running 2 sessions of VBA Link with the proper save file (that I might be able to fix for you). If you wish to continue playing your Pokemon games on your GBA I would suggest either buying the real game and transfering the proper save file to that cartrige or getting a flash card that supports 128k flash saves. Your current flash card just won't cut it.
  15. If you read the first post it says that you have to delete your save and start over for this to work. If you want to you can simply backup your old save (if you used an IPS patch at first) since I have found a way to fix these although I still have not tested it myself. As for flash cards to use on your DS you will need one that supports 128k flash saves. If not then it won't work no matter what you do. [EDIT] If for some reason you feel that I may have misunderstood you feel free to correct me.
  16. 1. Yes you can plug your Playstation to your computer's video inputs and see it on your computer. 2. No you cannot play your Playstation on your computer due to the delay in the video. Sorry, but the only good those input ports will do you is to watch and record. They can't be used to play video games becasue it is not a true live input. A delay occurs between the actual souce input and what you see on the computer screen due to the MPEG encoding on the graphics card and unfortunatly there is no way around this.
  17. Press F8 just before the Windows logo appears.
  18. Unfortunately Cinder, I don't see the "Local Users and Groups" choice on my computer. I'm guessing this is another difference between XP Home and XP Pro. @GoRDoOnE: Set that password for the setup and there should be an option under that same window that you can change to have that password be used for startup as well. I can't tell you exactly what it's suppose to say because I've seen many different variations of the term that each bios uses.
  19. Actually, Cinder, the Administator account is on every Windows XP system. It's there as a "just in case" measure in order to give unquestioned priority access to everything on the computer when your normal login won't work. For XP Home users this account is the only way to change the security options for verious files and folders. Now about the BIOS password. The first thing you have to do is access your computer's bios setting on startup. This can usually be done by pressing the F1 or F2 keys on startup depending on which bios model your computer has. Once there, go to the security settings and you will be able to set various passwords to keep someone from modifying your bios settings as well as have the password be used to keep anyone from even booting the computer without it (aka boot password). Meaning they have to have the password before they can even start Windows. So even though you may not be able to do anything about the "secret" admin account you can at least keep your brother from messing with your computer again.
  20. The Playstation does have a much wider range of excellent game then it's counter-part, the N64, but as everyone is saying playing games is about all you can do on the Playstation. The only reason anyone loves the Playstation is because they love the outstanding games that can be played on it not because of any neat stuff it can or can't do like the new consoles.
  21. Yes I do. I just recently beat Tomb Raider: Legend. Why?
  22. The only way to change the password is if you know the password in the first place. The Administrator account has full dominion over the entire system. Even more power then just a regular Administrator account which is what you probably use to log into your computer with in the first place. The only thing you can do is either get your brother to remove the password or reformat your computer so you can add your own. You might also consider adding a boot password on the bios. This will keep anyone off of your computer no matter what. However you will not have access to that Administrator account until the password your brother put on it is removed.
  23. I don't think it works that way. The Wii remote communicates with the Wii using Bluetooth which no computer is capable of using unless you get some expensive hardware and even then no telling what kind of encryption Nintendo has put on it to prevent this. Also DS emulation is far from being anywhere near running games that use 3D so talking about external peripherals like this is all but pointless at this time. I will admit however it is an interesting idea but not one that will be implemented anytime in the near future if ever.
  24. Basically Shibathedog is right. The Playstation is only good for playing games that were made for it and that's about it. Depending on your game preference there is quite a large number of titles to choose from. There have even been ports of old NES and SNES games to the Playstation with better translations, FMVs, etc... but they often suffer from long loading times. I believe Chrono Trigger is the best example of this. It all comes down to what you like to play and as far as anything else such as media, emulation and stuff....well I don't exactly have any experience in that department since all I've ever really done on it is play games. It does have a CD player on it though and the newer models have a visualizer for it as well, other then that...that's pretty much it as far as I know. I've never tried using an emulator or anything on it. It's all up to you.
  25. No do not set that setting in VBA as I have recently learned that it does affect games that use 64k flash memory. If you tried to play Red Rescue Team (or any of the Pokemon games for that matter) before adding this ini file you will need to delete the save file that was created by the emulator before the new ini file settings will truly take effect. Also the game's name in the vba-over.ini file is only for reference and is ignored by the emulator.
