  1. Hm...Is this an NDS or GBA game you're trying to use with No$GBA? To get the saves to work for NDS games you have to select the save type and then reset the game for it to take effect. Usually if you have the wrong save type selected when you start a NDS game you will get some kind of error message in the game that is usually displayed on the bottom screen.
  2. I did read somewhere on the site that it does have support for all audio formats for NDS but I can't seem to find out where I saw it but if I'm not the only one with problems then I guess I can safely say that it's not because of my sound card.
  3. Actually for the GBA mode it can although it seems to have an issue with games that use EEPROM saves so those do have to be selected manually but for the NDS mode you do have to manually select the save type since there is no automatic setting. I ask if he's using a bios file because this might be cause by a corrupted one. Just covering all the details to be sure.
  4. Save states are never a good idea when it comes trying to save your game unless you are at a point in the game where you want to stop playing but you can't save or if you are playing a game that doesn't support saving at all. A little more information might help us solve your problem. -What version of No$GBA are you using? -What settings are you using? -Are you using a bios file "gba.rom"? Things like that. In the mean time I will try that game out with my copy of No$GBA and see if I have the same problem as you and if so then I will see what can be done to fix it.
  5. Um...I think you might be confused. We're talking about using a Wii controller for a DS emulator on PC. Now I have learned that there is now a program that can use the Wii remote to emulate the mouse on the screen so that might work for the DS emulators since the touchscreen feature uses the mouse anyway.
  6. As far as running emulators I'm not sure but I think they are working on emulators that run on the DS. Not sure how N64 will work though. I'm still surprised they manage to get PSX games to work on the PSP. From what I can tell the NDS games you load on any slot-1 flash card like the R4 should function just the same as it would if you used the real cartriage. I know that at least the games the use wifi work.
  7. I read on the official site that no$gba is suppose to have full sound support but for some reason all I get is nothing more then a buch of noise with...some sound at times. If you want to hear what I'm talking about you can check out the videos I posted on YouTube of a couple of games that I was testing. The only time I get good sound with any game is on the opening FMV of Final Fantasy III (of course that's about all any NDS emulator will play of that game). My YouTube Channel
  8. The 3d updates can really be seen on Super Mario 64 DS. Some of them fix the menu but some other fixes have messed up the in-game stuff. The entire screen will go black at curtain spots (like the spot where you have to get the key from the rabbit to get into the castle...the is hard to do when you can't see the rabbit).
  9. That thing doesn't suppot microSD though but there is an adapter that will work for that that I've seen
  10. In order to connect between two computers you have to set up the LAN properly. I've never done this myself but I will do some tests with this feature and see if I can still help you out. I assumed you were using the same computer with two sessions of VBA-link. [EDIT] Ok I did some tests with some simple games that let you play simple multiplayer game from the start of the game and was able to get it working. Setting up a LAN network between two computers: You will need: 1 patched CAT5 cable to connect each computer together with one cable (these cables have the wire reversed at each end so there is no need to use a hub) or 2 standard CAT5 cable and a simple network hub to connect each compter to each other Connecting the compters with the patch cable: simple connect the patch cable to the LAN port of each compter Connecting the compters with a hub: Plug the hub into it's power source (usually a simple AC adapter) Connect one end of each of the standard CAT5 cables to one of the numbered ports on the back of the hub (except for the last numbered port as that is used for another purpose) Connect the other end of the cables to the computers you are trying to network Configuring the computers: The only thing you need to do with the computers is make sure that they are set to use the same workgroup and that the computers' network names are not the same and the network should work. If you want to share files between the computers you will have to enable File and Printer Shareing. If you need help doing this let me know. Using vba-link in a LAN network: Open the same version of vba-link on each computer Go to Options->Link->Settings (or press Ctrl+M) Under the General tab choose "Network" On one computer go to the Server tab and click "Start", you will be given the IP address of that compter On the other compter go to the Client tab and enter the IP address of the Server computer and then click "Start" The Server computer should now pop-up a window saying that a player has connected and will ask you if you want to wait for more players Click "No" and "Ok" on all the other windows and start your game You should now be able to link between the two computers just like you were linking two GBAs Make sure that you do not interrupt the link by opening one of the drop-down options when the games are linked or you will loose the link between the games. You should still be connected on the LAN though so in order to get the link back just reset the games and start the link again. I hope this helps and if there's anything you don't understand just let me know.
  11. Hm...check the link settings and make sure that they match. They should be set for "Single Computer" and the timeout should be set to 1000. If it still doesn't work try changing the timeout to 500 and try that. Make sure that when you are linking that you do not open any of the menus as that will pause the emulator and break the link. There's not that much else to tell about linking. I hope that works for you. If it doesn't then it's either something you're doing wrong that emulator. I am also using 1.8 beta 0 and I haven't had any problems.
  12. So...does that mean it's working now or are you still having a problem?
  13. I will be glad to help you. My first question is what version of vba-link are you using? Second, what exactly are you doing in order to link? You should note that there is a setting the pauses the emulator when it's inactive and this could be why you're loosing the link. To disable this feature go to Options->Emulator. Now just click on "Pause when inactive window" to unselect it (only if it has a check mark next to it, if not then it is already disabled). Make sure you do this for both windows before you start the link.
  14. And the sad part about it is that we're letting it happen (yes I'm American). There are just too many ignorent people here that don't see what's going on in front of their own eyes. Fortunatly I'm not one of them but I still don't have much power to do anything. One person may be able to change the world but that's only if others will stand up with him/her.
  15. This is just stupid. Our rights as consumer being thrown away. Hollywood can kiss my...well you get the idea. As far as standard video this doesn't bother me any since I can easily record a live video stream via Composite or S-Video cables to my computer using a USB capture device. I manged to manipulate it so I can even record Macrovision streams with it since the included software denies recording when it detects Macrovision. I can basically take what ever is being sent to the device and let it do the MPEG encoding for me while taking that raw stream and saving it to a file on my computer. For HD...that's gonna really suck.
  16. Hello again everyone, as Agozer said and as noted several times in the first post it helps if you read everthing in every post as I made all kinds of changes here and there and added little notes to avoid having to competely rewrite the first post. Plans to reorganize all of the information here into a simple web page for everyone to be able to understand are being worked on but it may be some time before I get it up and ready for everyone to view. @Lord Peatchu: The vba-over.ini file is just a simple text file created with Notepad with a .ini file extention. These files were used with Windows 3.1 and have become popular in the emulation community as they are easy to create and modify. As posted near the end of the first post the legend for everything that is in the code box above it is: @Jon763248: Changing to 1.6 is one of the many changes that I made by making the second post which is dedicated to the DBZ games. Using the vba-over.ini file like with the Pokemon games now fixes the save problems. You can copy and paste the test in the code box in my second post into notepad and save it as "vba-over.ini". Note that you must include the quotes or notepad will still add .txt at the end of the file and VBA will not read it. The text in the code boxes in for the U versions of the games listed in them so if you have the same game but for a different region they you will have to change the game code with the one that matches the rom you have. VBA only reads the game code not the game name. The game name is only added for reference when editing the .ini file.
  17. These people are just regular old people like us that don't bring it that much money so that is why they are asking for donations for the beta to help them to continue to work on it. I actully did donate $20 to them to get this (whould have donated more but I didn't have enough money at the time).
  18. Hey you spelled it wrong it's pSX . Anyway this version is truly incredible and has fixed several problems with a few games. The aspect ratio fix allows the screen to correct itself to the prober aspect ratio in full screen mode and the framebuffer fix has corrected games like "D" where the screen was small and positioned in the top left corner. Now it is stretched and centered like it should be.
  19. I got me a copy of this new version at last and they have indeed made some new improvements. One of the new features has occured within the last few days of this post. They have fixed the problem in the video plugin where on Maro Kart 64 on the Luigi's Raceway when the monitor showed up above the entrance to the tunnel of the first turn the game would freeze for a short moment. This problem has now been fixed. Not sure if it helps any other games but I'm sure after some more testing I can find some others that work better.
  20. All Bill Gates wants to do is keep his patent on Windows that's the only reason he's made Vista. I say burn him at the stake for all the crap he's put us through. We have the right to make copies and to use the software that we spend our hard earned money for and he's helping to take those rights away while still being a greedy sob and keeping all the real profits for himself.
  21. It seems all you're doing is burning the image file itself on to the disc. I'm willing to bet that if you browse the disc you will only see the .img file in it. Since it seems you are using a CloneCD image then what you will have to do is mount the image using Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% and use Nero to copy the virtual disc to a real disc. If you burn the disc correctly you should see many files and folders on the disc. If you need help doing this I am willing walk you through.
  22. It seems that you are burning the images correctly and the discs you are using are good. In this case the only thing I can think of is that you could be performing the swap trick wrong. What exactly are you doing step by step? I might be able to point out your mistake.
  23. Ok for one you have to burn the ISO itself not just copy the data to a disc. The files in the ISO are arranged in a specific order on the disc so that is will load in the Playstation. There is no program other then the one used to burn the original Playstation disc in the first place that you can use to recreate this order. Nero is capable of burning .iso, .cue/.bin and .nrg images. I guess my question now is what brand of CD-Rs are you using?
  24. Well it would seem that compatiblity to properly burn PSX games varies from drive to drive. I believe that the old CD burner that I have is an LG and it works almost perfectly for that sort of thing. Although I will admit I've yet to try any of my burned copies on and actual PSX but they run fine in every other drive I put them it that can read real PSX discs perfectly.
  25. I actually did use this swap trick with Spyro: Year of the Dragon which does have anti-mod protection on it and it gave me that warning screen that shows up when it detects that the system is modded. However I also did this trick on my PS2 (a bit more complicated and you can damage the CD tray if you don't know what you're doing) and it read past it and I was able to beat the game whith no problems. I'm surprised anyone is still reading this thread btw. I had thought of it as dead until I saw a reply to it a few days ago.
