Aaron Giles runs MAME on Windows 7, so the problem isn't the OS. I have XP, and it runs fine there also. I haven't used any recent version of MAMEUI though.

Well let's see.. - Since the forum "upgrade", Emu Authors can post in closed threads, I wanted to fix it but cannot access the admin panel. - Some Emu Authors are no longer such, and want the designation removed. Again, can't do that. - Some people (such as Hexter) asked for a name change, months ago. Can't do that. - Had an affiliation request. No answer from GC. Abandoned. - Plus various things which I don't recall right now.. The "activity" (if you call it that) in the xbox forum has led to the loss of almost all the authors from the scene. For those that never visit there, take a look sometime and be shocked. Anyone who wants to argue about it, or wants to apportion blame to somebody, do it in that forum - not here. My finger is on the delete key.

no idea what a bubble wand is.. I tried moderating the Xbox section, upsetting some people, and a certain person complained loudly. So, I've stopped, and the same person (who has posted in this thread) now complains again. Cannot win. Why should I stay?

I visit daily, just to keep an eye on things. But, no access to the admin panel, no FAS, no arcade, and nothing much going on, so I rarely post now. In fact just yesterday I was giving consideration to abandoning you lot. But I might hang about for a little longer.

Welcome back someboddy, glad to see that you have made it through alive, hopefully injury-free. It seems you have at least recognised what they did to your mind, and perhaps you can eventually throw off the bad things that they taught. I'm not around much now, since the demise of the FAS. But I still drop in most days, for a minute or so.

It's a bit hard for me to comment, as I have not experienced or seen this sort of thing. This is because African Americans are rare in this country. When I was in school, it was a time of immigration of various Europeans: Greek and Italian mostly. They were called wogs. But, they thought and acted the same as us, and soon everyone accepted them. Later we started getting Lebanese, they were generally not interested in assimilating, I only later learned it was to do with their upbringing and their foul religion. All I've seen of African Americans is what I've seen on TV. It's obviously not a very good education, but it's all we have. So, the stereotype is: Listens to dreadful Rap music; mostly unemployed; hangs around in gangs; plays basketball; tall, strong and muscular; and occasionally gets a job such as Policeman or a Marine. Now to your specific situation. Is it unusual for a black guy to like videogames? I would have thought anyone would play them. You didn't say what you do in the Air Force (you might not want to - that's ok), you might be a computer analyst, or you might drive a forklift in the warehouse. Is it unusual for a black guy to work at the Air Force? For me, the type of behaviour you describe of your fellow citizens is abhorent. I'd rather find out what is in your mind before deciding. If I didn't like what I found, I still wouldn't abuse you, I would just ignore you. But, from what I see, you are a sensible, bright person who is embittered from years of insults. All I can suggest fwiw, is to ignore the detractors, do the best job you can, and get on with your life. Do not think of death.
