What game are you trying it with? I dont have mame32 but I've got the command-line version, and i couldn't notice any difference betwwen scanlines on or off. Certainly there was no tearing with hwstretch on. I tried 104 with the same options and it looked the same to me. mame -scanlines -effect sharp -hws kof2002
