  7. Found a foreign coin at work. It has a picture of a moose on the front, and the Queen's head (from about 60 years ago) on the back. On the back it says D.G.REGINA and on the front it says 25 cents 1982. It is the size of our 10 cent piece. What country?

  10. Looks like this thread has run its course.
  11. You will see it setting while dawn is beginning, and the moon will become impossible to see against the blue sky. By the time the sun becomes visible, the moon will have set. Now, the middle of the eclipse has passed, and I need to go outside to see it as it has risen too high to see from my window.

  13. Now there's just a tiny bit left. And, seeing that the middle of the eclipse is still 46 minutes away means it's going to be fully covered for an hour and a half.
  14. Teh answer is HERE.
  15. time's out the answer is x: 1,5 y: 3 z: 4,5 Sorry, just noticed this. Actually there are many answers. y = x/(x-1)
  16. Now two thirds of the moon is covered, and it is still rising, and I can sit here at the computer and watch it.
  17. As I write this, the moon has risen about 30 degrees, and the earth's shadow is just starting to have an affect. Thankfully it is a clear, cloudless, warm night, perfect conditions. The eclipse will be visible across most of the United States as well, so enjoy and take pictures. If you miss out, you'll have to wait another 4 years at least. A few years ago we had a lunar eclipse, and it happened at midnight, with the moon directly overhead, and it was in the middle of winter and it was freezing. And not so long ago we almost had a solar eclipse, unfortunately, the moon had almost obscured the sun right on sunset, so it was hardly noticeable. A bit further west and it would have been perfect.
