  1. Carnage After watching Christoph Waltz in two amazing films with Tarantino I looked at his film history and this came up. The 70 minute conversation between two sets of parents who's sons recently got into a physical confrontation leaves you spilling milk and questioning morality at the same time. If you're into good writing I'd recommend it. Cloud Atlas I feel like this is one of the best films I've ever seen, I'm going to cherish it every time I get to see it. The multiple plots flow very well with each other and they are always understandable. Some of the rebirths where a little hard to catch the first time they're shown but you quickly catch on after a rotation or two. The idea of the film (human connectivity) is beautiful to watch unfold. I hope to see more grand films like this in the future. Django Unchained Yes. Dredd Between this and "The Raid Redemption" I have to say that this is the clear winner. The writing is irrelevant in both films , but the visuals in Dredd just make it. The action in Raid is the best action you'll probably ever see in any film but the imagery in Dredd makes it more interesting to look at. Also https://soundcloud.com/frantisek-1/justin-bieber-u-smile-ambient-800-slower. John Dies At The End It felt like a mix between Scott Pilgrim and the old Star Trek series (the adventure's aspect of it). It was a fun film to watch but I doubt I'll see it again any time soon. Kill Them Softly This film made me feel like I was lacking in political or economical intelligence. The main plot was very easy to understand and didn't really feel like it was attempting anything much until the television/radio started appearing in almost every other scene. At that point it was obvious that the film was trying to connect this characters with whatever meaning the speeches being given had but I simply didn't understand the speeches to make any sort of connection. I'll probably re-watch this when I'm older or more invested in the themes. The Perks of Being a Wallflower The writing was very positive which worked against the film's darker plot lines (I had to read the wiki since certain things like child molestation where only hinted at in the film). It had me smiling and laughing a lot more than I expected it too. Good film. Red This film is over the top done right. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected too. Mary-Louise Parker is beautiful too. She's turning 50 next year, how in the hell is she still that good looking? Seven Psychopaths I can see how a lot of people enjoyed this film, I just didn't think it was amazing as most of them make it out to be. Just "meh", a very well done "meh" film. Silent Hill Revelation This film's equation boils down to this. 1. Show scary image 2. Exposition 3. Repeat. The imagery was amazing, and the final fight was bad ass. But the writing and any sense of cohesion (especially if you watched the first film) is all thrown out the window in favor of moving that character a long from set A to set B. Silver Linings Playbook A romantic comedy where both characters are supposed to be broken on some level on the inside. Very hard to believe considering how both actors playing the actors are above and beyond in the hotness scale. But it has its moments, enjoyable when you let your mind forget the little things, the writing is good and the acting is fun to look at. It's one of those films where the genre's stereotypes hold it down more than the actual film itself. Sinister I watched this on a stormy cold night by my lonesome self with 7.1 Digital Surround headsets on in complete darkness. I shat myself twice. I re-watched it the next day in a bright setting with stereo volume at low settings. It didn't have the same impact. If you let your imagination run wild with the film you can come out with some pretty scary stuff, especially after each short film is shown. But if you are ever pulled from that the film just feels like standard jump scares. Skyfall I didn't grow up watching 007. My first 007 film was Casino Royal and the poker scene left me wondering if the film was a black sheep in the series considering I fell asleep in the theaters out of boredom while it was going on. Skyfall was ok and gave me what I expected from a spy film. The camera work in this film was phenomenal but everything else felt really bland bringing the movie down a bit. The logic behind the characters and their actions is flawed if you question it most of the time. The main villain took too long to come out only for it to turn out to be a disappointment (was he supposed to feel scary because of the girl voice or was the bitch voice supposed to express how ominous he wasn't). The quartermaster hooking up the main villain's machine to the B.I.A central network was laughable. I wish his survival was explained (for my imagination doesn't come up with something amazing it just spouts "bullshit" every time I question it). If I compare it to Batman then I can see why the majority can ignore all these things (I grew up with the cape crusader after all) and in that case it's just nonsense rambling. I'm just a little annoyed that almost everyone that has seen this film make it out to be the second coming of Christ. It's good camera work, but that's really it. Ted I agree with every comparison to this and Family Guy. Funny to watch once, will probably never see it again.
  2. Just got home from The Hobbit in HFR 48/3D. Took a good chunk of the film (about 2/3's) for me to get used to it. Up until the point that it clicked and felt natural it just felt too real. Sets would pop out at your face and so would actor makeup/costumes. The first 10 minutes of the film also played out like a sped up monkey playing sound at normal speed, it confused the hell out of my brain and left me wondering if I had made a mistake not watching a different version. The story itself also felt dragged a long and I question if this was done because a trilogy is being made when it was originally going to be one film. Some of the action scenes felt unnecessary in that they didn't develop story or characters but they were just "there". The last act in the film (after my eyes settled in) did blow my mind visually speaking. My friend described it as "Watching a video-game that was 10 times ahead of our current generation". His description is the best one I have for the way the movie looks after you get adjusted to the speed of the film. I would recommend this film to anyone who is interested in visual effects or interested in seeing a film running at 48 FPS.
  3. The "Meh" spiderman, making sure to fill all your meh needs in 2012.
  4. The game might as well be called WoW:Dungeons edition (Now with bad lore!). It does have some nice game play mechanics, but I believe most of the balance around PvE atm is reliant on the auction house and its contents. Once you beat the game on normal the game turns into a grind, all you do is go do dungeons hunt better gear rinse and repeat. The servers have a 75% up time also kind of sucks, tomorrow they won't be up for the majority of the day due to maintenance lol.
  5. Mine gets fair use. Although I have to admit that I've played more DS games on it over 3DS ones. I'm waiting at the tip of my chair for Smash Bro's like a school girl though. Everything that's been said about Ocarina is true, it's an amazing game. But the 3DS game I'm playing right now is a remake of a PS2 RPG called Tales of the Abyss, so far it's keeping me entertained and the battle system is "new". The only other 2 3DS games I played were Sonic Generations and Super Mario 3D Land. I regret buying both of them at full price since they barely ran 6 hours on full completions each. But the game play was enjoyable, just not $40 enjoyable.
  6. Pizza with shrimp. Pizza with meats. Pizza with vegetables. Pizza with everything. NOT pizza with pineapple (it tastes like eww). Pizza, is my favorite definitive food.
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWlmhMSnVdM Let me start off by saying that I'm a little bias towards this "type" of film. I feel that films like this one, Scott Pilgrim, 300, and The Warriors; should be classified as "Beat Em Up's". The exposition is kept to a minimum, chatter is straight to the point (or used for a comedic tune to turn down the suspension), and there are boss battles everywhere. So in short, I enjoyed it very much, a long with the cinematography, and its music. The film's premise is simple, there is a SWAT team that is sent out on a quiet kill order in the hottest building of its city. The top floor has the leader of a gang, and 2 boss baddies a long with an entire army of members that are willing to die for their leader. The film takes the first 20-30 minutes explaining this premise, and setting up the tension for future pause scenes (the cinematography tries its best to make you "feel" like you're in the film during these moments). Then, one of the scouts catches the team as they move upstairs and all hell breaks loose. There are fire fights, knife fights, random object fights, fist fights, necks snapping, stabbing, Jesus the list goes on, they try to show you a different form of violence in every scene and the variety is buffet-like. But everything looks awesome while it is happening and the shots really do make you feel the impact of the severity of the situation (20 SWAT Team Members vs. an entire cast of beat em up bads!). Now I'm not entirely sure whether or not the soundtrack I heard was the original one, but I doubt the original one was better than what I heard in the film. It might be my bias (Mike Shinoda worked on the American version of the OST) but I feel everything being played fit each mood perfectly. Including the fights scenes, the music wasn't rushed in BPM but in intensity the harder the fights got, something I feel would've happened if any other musician worked on the film. Concerning the plot, I think it's pretty straight forward, there is some more to it than just fighting, but I don't think the motivation given wasn't strong enough to warrant the situation. I didn't ignore it, but I sure as hell forgot about it when the fight scenes started. If you feel like watching a story don't bother with this film, however if you want to see some action being fired at you with a similar rate to that of a machine gun, go watch this film. The only negative things I could possibly say about the film is that I felt they took to long shortening the cast, but that's a personal nitpick, the actual pacing of the film is deliberate and works for what is intended.

  9. Sure lol, have a positive attitude, surround yourself around positive people and a positive outlook can be accomplished . It's just his presentation on the subject that I was impressed with, most other "feel good" video's I've seen or speeches I've heard suffer from a robust amount of enthusiasm.
  10. It was a joke Alpha-dude I promise not to insult myself again . ^.^
  11. It is the most honest "Feel-good" video I've ever had the pleasure of listening too. I wish I met more people in life with this kind of attitude.
  12. I was a loner, but I wasn't a d-bag. I did have an encounter with several of them at the beginning of high school however. Nothing really serious though, just fights that erase from memory very quickly.
  13. I want to marry someday, but my right hand is registered under the same social security number as my own .
  14. It sounds lame, but I for the life of me can not stop enjoying Kesha's singles.
  15. Jokes aside I've heard good things about the modernization of the show.
  16. Axe is really all I ever use. I have other nameless cologne that's heavy for when I have a family gathering or anything similar. But on a normal basis getting out of the shower and putting on a bit of that spray is awesome.
  17. 26" tv. It didn't feel right at first but laying back for movies instead of sitting in front of a monitor really made me appreciate it. Although for gaming I do want/prefer a duo-monitor set up. The tv is all I have for the time being .
  18. I bought Deus Ex: Human Rev in the steam sale recently. I feel I should give the game a longer shot at impressing me, but so far it feels like Chronicles of Riddick. While Butcher Bay was an experience I'll never forget, I can't say the game didn't have its faults with the stealth system, and this one feels exactly the same. It feels amazing when you do something right, but the 10 attempts to do that "right" thing behind it just isn't for me.
  19. As much as I hate DLC, I can't make any statements considering I'm the biggest sucker for skins in LoL history.
