  1. Not that I want to be insulting anyone myself anymore since I'm not nearly as vested in this all as I was before, but otherwise he is right... I haven't done any coding, or even any deep testing on any of the games as of yet. Truth be told, I'm really only doing all of this because I'm just OCD to a fault. There is probably only about 20 games that I would ever personally play on arcades, and aside from 2 player alternating and allowance mode, they run perfect for me. I don't support R5 either. I just collected the roms and made sure to have a shared folder for roms that work with both CoinOPS and FBL, saving about 1.5GB of space. I'm glad to hear that the roms will work better when I finally get around to upgrading. In the last 2 years I've probably only upgraded your emu 3 times, but each time I see some amazing changes. Looking forward to seeing what I'm missing when I finally get around to upgrading. Thanks, ~Rx
  2. No need to hurry it man. I'm in no hurry to update MAME as it already worked great for me in R5. Hopefully I'm still tinkering when it makes it in there.
  3. BP: illl look at that stuff after epic.... Hey man. Closed the topic before I could reply. I know you'll get it in there someday. I'll only give you real shit about it if I'm still around 10 years from now and you say you're done with CoinOPS Ultra-Mega-Infinity Edition and there's still no Allowance Mode. There's no doubt you're busy working still. Later, ~Rx
  4. Here's to two player/two controller alternating and to Allowance Mode in CoinOPS Epic!
  5. LOL.... no more support for Windows 3.1? You sound like Microsoft BP Seriously, good for you for sticking around so long and making so many changes that it truly warrants a discontinuation of service message. I'm probably out of that game for a while. Don't have anything past v5 myself yet, but I'll definitely keep up at some point. Hopefully it's not anytime soon and you keep up the good work. Later, ~Rx
  6. Yeah... there could probably be a top 10 list for it of unique games or games that play better on the system. I wouldn't mind having a small collection of things like that. Even a top 25 if people can justify it without cramming 15 p0rn games in there. Doing well man... hope you're doing well too. Later, ~Rx
  7. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=716968 The spreadsheets I have owe a lot to this list. Maybe even my entire involvement in the scene stems from this list. The original thread was great and I added a few hundred entries to it with Sotu back before any Xtras work was done in public. Basically, on my spreadsheets, all the entries on it were from this list if I didn't have compatibility and comments of my own for a game. Most of the testing I did was posted here, except for a large amount of work I did on it in the last 2 or so years. Even though that link is not the most up to date version out there for a lot of game settings, acknowledging that there have been additions to that thread that wouldn't have made it into my own spreadsheets yet, it's invaluable to a newbie to PCSX that wants to try out their old favorites. Look for the Xtras site & forum. I just found out recently that there are links on the forums to the compatibility spreadsheets that used to be on G00gle and were backed up in late May (Excel is needed to view them). I never updated any of these personally after that date, so most are probably completely up to date as of now. There's been a few additions here and there from others since May that I'm sure aren't included, but you won't find a full collection with such up to date settings as these docs anywhere else. Between both lists, you can basically figure out the best configs for games based off the images that were tested. Later, ~Rx
  8. Just so people here know, there is an Amiga Xtras starter pack that has been released at the other XBox site. I was not affilliated with this project at all, but from what I hear there are over 300 unique games put in special files that were all tested and do not require swapping of any disks. From what I hear, every game has artwork and videos, and all games are configured to work well with your XBox controllers right after FTPing them. Thanks to Waal and everyone else who has been working on this for months now. Currently, Guybird, Madmab and I are also working on a similar project for DOSBox. I'm still in retirement... I'm not pulling a Farve. Just got a little free time on my hands is all. ~Rx
  9. Sorry, don't know about anything with Adventures of Lomax. I would never take "perfectly" on the emu as truth. I have yet to see a game work perfectly. They seem to run the gambit from "Black Screen" to ""Playable enough to be satisfying". There will always be some sort of glitchiness on this emu unless the core is updated..... maybe even then still. This is why I never did a full PSX set before release. It was just too much work with too little payout. Hopefully this will be remedied with a core update or even better if the Xtras are all ported to more advanced hardware someday. I'm also trying to get XCOM and Loaded working at a playable level. Still haven't haven't had any luck with that, though people have told me it's possible. Good luck, and keep trying. Our favorite games are worth it. Sometimes you can just luck into the correct settings to make a non-playable game playable. @ace9094 I don't think a list like this exists. You could try to find the spreadsheet I had for PSX on G00gle and remove all the bad and untested games from there and you'd basically have what you were looking for. G00gle removed them though, so you'll have to find somebody who knows where the backed up excel spreadsheets are.
  10. Like Dark said, Discworld 1 works just fine, at least as far as I played it (which was definitely far enough for me to be satisfied). I believe I included this game and there are Xtras for it. I don't believe Discworld 2 works though. If memory serves, it will play with graphic and audio glitches (title screen is blank and voices/animations out of sync), but I think if you play in far enough it just freezes or something. Don't have the spreadsheet up anymore, so I can't say for sure right now. I didn't try Rapid Reload or any of the other games you've mentioned though. You could try the compatibility list at the other site though. Later, ~Rx
  11. Can somebody please tell me the draw to this emulator for anybody who doesn't naively speak Japanese? I actually tested about 200-300 games for this system at one point and it was going to be included in my Xtras sets, but in the end I totally decided against it. I couldn't figure out any benefit from it whatsoever. I will fully admit that for the time it came out it would have been an awesome system to own, but with the perfect ability to replicate these arcade games on CoinOPS and sometimes FBA-L, why would somebody go to the trouble for this. Granted, there are some interesting Japanese games that weren't available here, but they're either heavily burdened with "adult" content and/or completely unplayable by an engilsh-only speaking audience.
  12. Yep... You too man. Let me know if you ever get Allowance Mode or 2 player alternating on old games like Pac-Man and Pyros (Wardner) working.
  13. Yep.... like I said, your build is more advanced, and was even about 5 versions more advanced by the time I came out with the pack that I'm using. Any games I've tried work well enough for me, and at the very least this collection is a great start for somebody who has nothing. I was basically on my own the entire time I did this, with the exception of a few outside sources that helped me out. There's over 1,600 working MAME games in my collection, with quite a few that overlap FBL and then FBL has some that don't work with MAME, (or at least I couldn't get them to work on MAME without any help) so it's all good. Besides, most if not all the games I didn't include because I couldn't get them to work are way past the time I went to the arcade, so I'm not missing anything. There's probably 1,500 games that I'll never play in this collection as it is, so I'm perfectly happy with it.
  14. Hey illtww, Bummer about the spreadsheets, huh? Fortunately, after the whole UG debacle, I had the forethought to at least back all of those spreadsheets back towards the end of May. I was thrilled to see that all of the color/font settings were preserved as well. I got them out to a few of the team members 2 or 3 weeks ago. I'm hoping that somebody uploads them to a different site that supports docs (waal found one, but it's a matter of getting somebody to do it). In the mean time, I hope that the people who have these now make them readily available for download for everyone who wants them. Until we get them up on another site that supports online documents though, any changes people make will not be in sync, so that's the real bummer about not having them on google anymore. Right now, I'm pretty much unable to do anything since recent storms killed some of my connectivity issues and make it hard for me to do anything much but post here and there in the threads. (I guess it's like God's way of agreeing with me that it's time for me to move on, lol) Thankfully, the data is safe and backed up and in many different locations now, so it should never be lost, even if the torrents die and people who are involved today aren't around tomorrow. Here's hoping that when upping these to the new docs site that the colors and font settings will be imported as well. The color coding really was amazing for the compatibility lists and it would be a lot harder to use these lists going forward if they were uploaded entirely in B&W without the font settings. Later, ~Rx To eparsox.... Try deleting your save file for the Castlevania game and playing it again. There was a change made to the emulator to specifically address some music issues with this game. If you had a previous save of the game, there may be some residual conflicts that would be eliminated if you just delete the save and start again. At the time of release, this game worked flawlessly for myself and the people I was working with. To mirsad... Hope you finally found them. We have a CoinOPS R5 & FBL 1.3 set out there at the same place where the rest of it is hosted. This eliminates all of the crap videos (non-working games, dupes, and blank vids), and also is set up in a way that there are no duplicated roms or videos where they are not needed. BP would like me to mention that he doesn't endorse this set, and I'm fine with that. He's babbled from time to time that my sets are no good, but all of the games work that I've ever played and I've never heard any complaints from others using them. I'm sure it's missing games that have been made to work since, and it's probably missing games that I couldn't get to work because of memory errors, but I couldn't get any help getting those games working on my setup from anybody here in the timeframe I had to work on them, so I just cropped them out and moved on. I'm an old-school gamer anyways, so any game that didn't work because of memory constraints was way after my time in the arcades anyhow. To everyone else, how are they working out for ya? It's been a few months since release and I've seen some youtube vids and other mentions of the Xtras out there. Pretty, pretty cool.....
  15. Good topic here grr... I've been out of it for so long that I don't even remember the good hacks. I know there were a few that I did play for quite a while, but most of those have been purged from my memory now. If you include every single hack that was ever made, I would think that we only covered about 5-10% of them. For instance, it's just silly how many lame SMB hacks there are out there. The "winners" of that contest for me would be "Super Bud Brothers" and "Super Afro Bros". Take a look at the Super Mario Bros zip in a goodset and you'll see what I mean. I can say that we included close to 100% of the hacks/trans that were complete or near-complete at the time of the 1.0 release at the romhacking site. There are also a few other hack sites that we used that escape my mind right now as well. RomHacking, is just an amazing site and really did their best to only bring the best hacks available to the public, particularly for the translations. When in doubt, you can always use the "Synopsis" feature in the Madmab Edition emus to get a brief description of what was changed in the game. Whenever there was a description available at the site about the hack/trans, it was included in the synopsis file and the reviewer was credited with the webpage url at the bottom of the synopsis entry. Good luck, ~Rx P.S. Oh yeah... there was a hack of Dragon Warrior that I believe had "Omega" in the name that was really good. It was a completely different story about Aliens invading a futuristic world. I never played it to the end, but I got pretty far into it and was really impressed how much was changed and the quality of the storyline and text.
  16. Hey everyone. It's been about a month since i've even been here. Just wondering if there were any problems finding what you needed and how it's working out for anyone who's tried them.
  17. Well now that you clarified that, this is absolutely wrong what they are doing, and the community should do something about it, before the feds do. I wasn't going to argue a donate button in here after reading the responses after my post, even though I feel that asking for donations for work you've done with what is largely considered illegal content is 100% wrong in my book, regardless of how much time or money you put into it. I wasn't going to mention that I've had a lot of people tell me that I should put a donate button up for my own work over the last few years and my response has always been that I'm not looking to make any money off of this project. All I wanted from the start was help from other people completing this and the satisfaction of knowing that any other OCDers out there like me could now find better stuff to do with their time than redo all the stuff the team has already put together. I think we accomplished both of those goals brilliantly, and I'm thrilled to see that more people seem to join up all the time to continue the effort after I leave. I wasn't even going to mention here that my own unhealthy obsession with this has cost me a lot of money for hardware and high speed internet access, and that I've been putting in 40-80 hour unpaid work weeks to wrap it up since I've been laid off. But.... I feel I have to respond when I hear how their business model/piracy organization operates..... when somebody uses other people's work to demand "donations" and makes money off of anything any of us do here, or especially the original creators of this copyrighted material, it is not only immoral and unarguably criminal, but it is also a terrible reflection on the rest of us as a whole. Stuff like this effects all of us through the public perception of what we do. Anyone who has given of themselves in any way to the retro-gaming scene should be enraged that stuff like this goes on, whether they be paid game programmers or unpaid hobbyists. If this is truly how they run their operation, then they should be shut down. I'm only hoping that it's done from the inside before the Agency guys get them and then they have one more nail in the coffin for shutting down the emulation and retro-gaming community.
  18. Personally, I feel that nobody should be trying to make any money doing any of this, even based off of donations. Not only does it make the community as a whole look bad, but it even makes the work that people have previously done with no financial incentive look like part of a Pirating for Profit organization. I'm not going to pursue it personally, but I do believe that the original poster is right and that these people should be shut down if they don't remove the donation option from their project.
  19. 25 torrents re-uploaded to a public tracker that is fond of demons. More to come. Please help seed. ~Rx
  20. I'm not going to cause any trouble. Whatever. Have fun.
  21. Mods, please remove my username from the database here. I couldn't find a way to delete my profile. Thanks, ~Rx
  22. GUI isn't my department at all. My work was the behind the scenes grunt work getting all of the media for all 12,000-15,000 games included in the sets, making the synopsis for each game, and naming everything so it works perfect together. Regardless of what GUI is used, these things will display however the coders choose to make them work. HS would be foolish not to use these collections in the future, and emumovies would be foolish not to take all of the WMV files for movies they don't have since we used all of their stuff originally. You're confused BP, or you're trying to confuse other people. I don't make emus, GUIs or skins.... That's not what the Xtras project is at all. As you know, the XBox has some limitations, and a severe lack of programmers around anymore compared to other platforms, so we do what we can do. I'm hoping that the abilities that madmab has added to his emus that really showcase the Xtras are ported over to other platforms, such as all the auto-load features for each game while you're currently playing the game. There is NO OTHER emulator out there now that automatically opens the GameFAQs or VGMaps for a game while you're playing it. There is NO OTHER emulator out there that will automatically load Commercials or Game Manuals while you're playing it. There is NO OTHER emulator out there that has detailed synopsis information for over 25 platforms. I don't care how pretty they are. Here's hoping the ability to use all of this great stuff is ported to other systems. Bottom line is, it will be built around our work, because everything is already done on our end. It's perfect.
  23. Does AUTO-INSTALLER DELUXE 4.5 format 250GB drives? The xbpartitioner is the only program that I've used before and it's worked flawlessly every time. I've only used drives up to 500GB myself, but I've heard that it will theoretically work on drives up to 2TB. A-ID definitely looks a lot prettier, but does it get the job done And I can't tell you how many times I've realized that I didn't partition a large drive after I have over 250GB of info on it. Uggggghhhh.... that's like a day of wasted file transfer on my setup. Anyways.... Just wanted to thank the people who continue to seed these awesome collections after they've gotten them. The only ones we're still working on getting solid seeders at this point are the WMV, OTHER and PSX image torrents. Everything else now has so many seeds it shouldn't take them long to get any of this at all. Look for the CUT File, Cut Creator and Wide Icon torrent coming soon. It's all included in the same one and weighs in at about 1.86GB. Then all that's left are the emu packs
