  1. That and the speed boost. In Quake 3, lots of players used the command to basically strip the game down to bare polygons to get the maximum performance for that extra edge.
  2. One way I know how it's done is to enable the Welcome Screen. But I hate the welcome screen so I'm using the 6 button method. Anyway, this is how you enable it. Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Click on Change the way users Log On or Off -> Check the Use the welcome screen box
  3. Sorry, I just had to post that picture. Anyway this is really cool. But I remember Carmack saying that they ripped stuff to allow that out of the console so people wouldn't use it to cheat in multiplayer.
  4. - Half-Life 2 *DONE* - Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines (whenever I get the game and beat it, it might be a while)
  5. If you're going to argue in this thread, make sure it's about the game. Personal vendettas go to Spam.
  6. They were for me too - until I played a little game by a chzech-based company that blew all my expectations away. "Mafia", for the PC. Has anyone played it yet? It's amazing! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mafia was really good too. I just couldn't stand the speed of the cars! But overall that game ruled. I wish they'd make another one or another game with that setting.
  7. Because I forgot to vote. Vote added.
  8. You could whore yourself out to 1000 fat chicks for 50 bucks a piece. Or 50 really fat chicks for 1000 bucks a piece.
  9. This is pretty cool so it warrants a double post. The people at HL2World.com found a way to enable deathmatch in HL2. http://www.hl2world.com/ Here's how: net_start sv_lan 0 deathmatch 1 maxplayers (whatever you want) map (mapname) restart But people have to make maps for it so that might take a while.
  10. Yeah, those are partitions.
  11. It's definitely possible. But putting them on separate partitions is your best bet.
  12. I prefer Star Wars movies Eps 4-6 over LOTR movies. I prefer LOTR books over Star Wars books (which I haven't read).
  13. Well then, that seems to be the problem.
  14. Max Payne 1 and 2 are the best 3rd person action games I've played.
  15. Racing games are extremely boring if you aren't using a steering wheel. I feel no excitement when playing one on a controller (vibration doesn't simulate jackshit) or a keyboard. All car games should include running people over.
  16. You need a NOCD crack. Don't ask where to get one. Geez...I thought most people would know how to pirate games by now.
  17. No. We have a Spam section for premium members. Closed.
  18. Muahahaha! The game runs absolutely fantastic for me and everyone I know. We all got it from Steam. From what I've been reading, most of the problems are with the retail version. But it still sucks for those that are having problems since this is a FANTASTIC game.

  20. Actually the cheapest Steam (Bronze) is 5 dollars less than the normal retail. It's extremely costly to run Steam so that's why the prices is what it is. But the main reason it's not at a lower price is that Vivendi won't allow them to sell for cheap otherwise it would be a breach of their contract since it would take sales away from them. well I would rather the bulk of my money go to Valve and not Vivendi. so if I do end up with some free cash I'll get it on steam, does it come as something you can burn? like an iso or zip or whatever? I am not paying for a program I can't back up <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, just last week Valve introduced a Backup feature in Steam which packs the files into self extracting files so it's easy to burn and reinstall. I haven't done it yet but I think they have an option to split into CD sized files and DVD sized files which is cool since I haven't gotten a DVD burner yet.
  21. Awww! Lucky bastard.
  22. Winamp's Death Greatly Exaggerated

Glitches in the menu? That's the first I've heard of that, it has to be something with your system. I like that Valve chose the minimalistic HUD view since it's unobtrusive but I wish you could make the font size smaller.
  24. I assume you've never heard of Eclipse. That was a smokeless cigarette made by RJ Renyolds (the people that make Camel, Winston, and more) in the mid 90s. It flopped because people didn't like it.
  25. Not crowbar, GRAVITY GUN! That thing is so flocking cool. And Diso, if you check out the overall percentage at Gamerankings.com, Half-Life 2 has 97.2% while Halo 2 has 95.5%
