  1. A friend on another board has just started this website, Retro Ringtones, where there's some nice short mp3s from Amiga games for your mobile phone. I think you can also download box scans for your phone wallpaper. The site is currently growing, and I suspect that, at a later date, some non-Amiga retro stuff will be upped as well. Check it out.
  2. This is great news! I would love to see a new Street Fighter in 2d!
  3. Mmm, in my humble opinion I think that the WWE, for all its fixation with making money, actually acts pretty respectfully when things like this happen. The tributes they give, and so on. When it comes to Benoit I think they acted the best they could in the situation - they give him a tribute, and then when all this double homicide stuff came out, they disregarded him. The WWE is obsessed with making money though. I think wrestling peaked in the "Attitude Era" of the late nineties and early 00. After the death of Attitude, it has become somewhat stagnant. I will probably stay tuned with the wrestling world until Undertaker (my fav wrestler by far) retires, and then I will tune out.
  4. I went to see my first movie by myself the other week (I'm 26). I thought I would be lonely, but I enjoyed it. It was very peaceful, just enjoying a flick on your own with no friends to bug you or throw popcorn at you. You just have to make sure not to sit next to any loud people. Or annoying teenie-boppers. It's winter here, and I don't have any holidays. I go out to clubs and bands every now and then. I read alot. That's all.
  5. Is this game a really strict, one-hit-and-you're-dead type shooter, or is it more laid back and arcadey like Quake?
  6. I voted that he is a dick. Just a dick. I never knew he got into the games industry. I made my vote because I have read some of his reviews as a senior reviewer at Gamespot, and some of them seemed to come across as pompous and oh so superior. Now Gamespot reviews are always abit snooty and arrogant because they think that people just consult their site without consulting others, or that they definitively know what constitutes a good game. But some of Kasavin's reviews just seemed abit more arrogant. I stress "some." But I don't share the volcanic hatred that you have, Mr Keeper.
  7. Nice... ...but I don't think Chris Benoit should be fondly remembered. If what is being said is true, I will never watch a Benoit match again. He should be erased from WWE history.
  8. SBS Radio. Are you familiar with that one? Broadcasting all over Melbourne, and I believe also in Sydney. But my show wasn't broadcast in Sydney, only Melbourne. I was lucky...I dropped in when they were looking for younger people to set up various youth shows on their station to appeal to more younger audiences. The first year or so it was me doing all the talk (people had been telling me that I had a "radio voice" for years before) and a producer pressing the buttons, but after that it was all me. In the last year or so I reverted to prerecording it and then broadcasting the recording, as opposed to putting it on all live to air, because I enjoyed how I could tweak with the prerecorded version until it was perfect. I'm the arty type - I like things perfect. And then I could also go home and listen to myself. They had a youth show before I started, but it wasn't very much more than an interview. After I had tidal waved the place the show had a funky intro, interviews, funny stories, weird stories, serious issues, songs, gig guides, reviews, kooky sound effects, and more. It was hard work, going from a full time job straight to the radio and working there until night (my days would go from 9am to 9pm, and sometimes work on weekends!) but it was worth it. Being on air was a massive buzz. I was also podcasted, too. However, at the start of this year I had grown tired of it, and I had decided I no longer wanted a job in the media. It's also an unstable industry to work in. That didn't appeal to me. So I left in January, and I am now pursuing a safe, satisfying, and well paying government job. And as a sub achievement to all this, I helped put on a hip hop concert for SBS Radio. There was a ton of hard work involved, but when the night went off without a hitch with 700 people attending, it was all worth it. I wish it could have been a hard rock/metal concert though!
  9. Writing a thesis and getting an A for it, or having my own show on the radio for 5 years.
  10. The world of wrestling never ceases to amaze me...and shock me. This has got to be one of the most tragic days in wrestling history. I still can't believe the news myself, especially if it turns out to be a double murder-suicide. Of course, I didn't know the man...but I just never would have thought that Benoit could be capable of such a thing. He was a great wrestler too. But if the murder suicide theory is true, it will certainly damn him and my memories of him. At least for me. Catastrophic.
  11. Thankyou mate! I just discovered that I can now play Street Fighter 3 on my PC - this is the best Birthday present ever!
  12. This sucks. I thought the first Manhunt was fantastic for the grimy setting it created, the story, the voice acting and the stealthy gameplay. I predict that it will also be banned in Australia, because the Australian government cannot think for itself.
  13. I think lack of hope, lack of persistence, and lack of rudimentary self confidence leads to failure. I think those who are arrogant, full of pride and have big egos usually go on to be successful - as much as I hate to admit that, I think it is true. Stuck up successful people are everywhere. Maybe it's because that they live in their own worlds so much, and believe in themselves so much, that they just keep on trying and persisting and soldiering on, until they get what they want. Until their fantasy land crosses over into reality. Bastards.
  14. I love hard rock and heavy metal, and I hate rap. My favourite rap album would be The Eminem Show.
  15. Well done on landing that gig and good luck. I spent 5 years at university and I don't regret it at all. I want to go back one day.
  16. Ironman was my favourite comic as a kid, so I am looking forward to this one. I think you guys are being too harsh on Hollywood. It will always pump out repetitive crap, and seek any label to take off and make bucks out of. You can't expect much more from it. Hence I can understand why Hollywood is doing over the major Marvel characters, especially after the success of Spiderman and Batman. Secondly, I disagree that you need more then just an established fan base to get lots of people to attend a comic book movie. People will go see any old crap that is pushed their way, provided it is marketed well enough. People go see crap movies all the time that they have no prior knowledge about, superhero flick or not. I think if Ironman is promoted well enough, and if the movie is actually good, then it can be a success, drawing fans of the comic, people who knew of the comic, people who have never read comics, and casual people who just want to see a movie on a Saturday night with a box of popcorn and a coke. Listen to me, defending Hollywood. Sheesh! I've flipped to the other side of the coin. I must be going through menopause or something.
  17. Oh my god! This is great news! I can't wait! Starcraft was the only RTS I enjoyed. (It frustrated me as well, but that's because I suck at RTS games). But I think it's a testament to how great the game was that it kept me playing, even though it pissed me off! On a somewhat negative note...I hope it is not just a "remake" - sequels should mean much more then that, especially sequels from Blizzard. I hope they go all the way. And call me controversial, but I never liked the 3d graphics in Warcraft III - they just didn't do it for me. I wait with fingers crossed though. Now I really have to complete Brood War - I never made it past the last Terran mission!
  18. I guess I can kinda see the sexual connotations, but I still think it is silly. So, these days, anything that is long, and that may or may not have a kind of round growth sprouting out the end of its length is wrong for being sexually provocative? Then we have to ban sausages! And joysticks! And deodorant containers! And toothbrushes! Seriously, if you look for something, you will find it. That woman posted that message trying to show how innocent and virtuous she was, but it reveals what a hypocrite she actually is, in that it illuminates how she has censores on the brain all the time.
  19. I meant, Venom in the movie (IIRC) didn't have a long tongue...and I missed the Venom from the comics that did have that disgustingly long tongue! Sorry for the misunderstanding. Did Venom in the movie have a long tongue? I can't remember, and I just saw the film last night.
