  1. I agree. I havn't really enjoyed a new game in a long time. Maybe this is why. UT to UT2003. There you have it. Money, graphic detail etc etc up. Fun down.

  3. Sorry to derail and dig up this thread but its better than making a new one. There's this song.. R&B ish. Its got some chick featuring a guy or the other way around. Lyrics go something like 'but I'm lookin at ya' or something like that. Dunno if its new or old or what but I heard it twice randomly today so Im guessing it must be at least semi-recent. Any ideas what it is?
  4. I have no idea about how much each component uses but Ill list em- P4 3.06Ghz 1GB DDR 120gb SATA HDD 250gb SATA HDD 1 DVD+RW SB Live 5.1 and the 6600GT (Currently a FX 5200). Is that a lot?
  5. I can live with that, but would anything get damaged or would the PSU blow? Coz if the card will just run slower Ill just go with that. Seems the simplest option.
  6. Yeh Dell really blows, but what possible problems could you have if you dont have enough power?
  7. Sorry guys I asked about video cards before and this is the same thing, but Id really like advice on this one. Here's the problem... I have a Dell 8300. As you may know Dell uses non-ATX mobos and PSUs, which menas I cant change the 250W one Im stuck with. I desperately want a 6600GT, which requires 300W and Im freaking out. But- Dell 8300s also come with 9800 Pro sometimes and manage them on 250W. That card requires 300W as well as far as I know. So can someone who knows about these things tell me if that means I should reasonably expect a 6600GT to work too? Or if not... will having low wattage damage anything, or will it just underclock the card...? Please any thoughts would be appreciated.
  8. Wow. If it can live up to that boast, I'm quite excited
  9. Has anyone else lost interest in SC Ghost? It's too late now.
  10. I thought Sony dropped the ball in not having a similar service for PS2, although considering the lack of penetration of broadband services outside the US back in the day may have been a ddetractor. Xbox Live seems to be a brilliant service, and honestly, internet play is a logical extension of any game that has 2 players to begin with. Since consoles are the plug and play type game outlets where PCs are complicated buggers to set up, consoles SHOULD have an equally simple multiplayer service, not the complicated rubbish that was PS2 broadband. Live allowed patches, updates, as well as online play, and it had a HDD standard. That was really a good move. This time Sony is not having a HDD standard for PS3 (am I right?) AND they are not having a unified online service. The thing I just liked about Live was that it oozed organisation and quality... and I expected something similar to be almost a prerequisite for all platforms in the next round. Does this sound to anyone like Sony is just digging its Playstation hole in the same direction, only deeper? Whereas the Revolution is going for something completely off the wall, and the 360 is aiming at a much broader platform with all that Live and Media Centre stuff going on? I think this is a bad move- I think my focus is shifting from the PS3 to the 360... something I never thought would happen...
  11. Cheers, Gryph for those soundtracks. I've checked and the Q4 versions lack the CD Audio, but do work properly if you place an original Q2 CD in the drive. It is a big flock up, and I guess they could have compressed the data and put it in the pak files quite easily. Maybe they were just lazy about it or didnt care too much.
  12. Ah thanks that's exactly it. Oh and btw, with the Quake 4 versions of Q2 and the expansion, I hear they don't have music? Of any kind? Is for there a fix for that? Also, did the expansions have their own CD audio, or did you just put the Q2 CD in and listen to that music while playing?
  13. The virus idea, and the single shots of the Baron and Pinky all sucked. But the rest was good. The shots that had the Baron and Pinky were badass, just wish there were more of them.
  14. Ah well pending my getting a new vid card Doom 3 and Quake IV are out of the question for me. However I say the Doom movie the other day and that first person shot really stirred me up. So without those two new games, what do I do? I dig out Quake 2~ oh yeh. AHEM. Anyway I wanted to ask something, if anyone remembers because there are no decent walkthroughs or anything like that to be found these days. Everyone remembers the Tank enemy, right? Big armoured guy with rockets. Then there was the Tank Commander, same deal but with black armour, and in one mission you need to get one's head. I want to know if anyone remembers the Tank Boss, or Supertank, which actually looks like a real tank. If you do know it, then what level or map was it on in the original Quake 2? Or was it only in the expansions? I can't find it anywhere but I remember it
  15. Just another one of those advice threads. Im upgrading, AGP only. My comp is P4 3.06ghz, 1gb ram. Basically I'm wondering about these cards- I've been looking for an AGP 6600GT myself- this is what I've found are the best cards in this price range. I have relative prices in AUD. Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256MB - $150 Older chipset, but cheap. It manages 800*600 in Quake 4 semi-playably. Gigabyte 6600 AGP 256MB - $180 Vanilla 6600 so performance aint great, but its a decent brand, has more memory, and is cheap. MSI 6600GT AGP 128MB - $215 Decent performance, along with the rest. This card's draw is that it has VIVO as well for that price. I'm probably gonna ge this one. Leadtek 6600GT AGP 128MB - $230 Slightly (very slightly- few frames) better performance than any other 6600GT. Apparently it cools well too and is a bit cheap. Gigabyte 6600GT AGP 128MB - $235 / $280 Performs decently, cools well. The $280 version has VIVO. Still I havn't seen that its better than the MSI one, which is cheaper. Leadtek 6800LE AGP 128MB - $230 Based on the 6800 reference, so more features than these 6600GTs but not as good performance? Thats what I gleaned but Im not sure. Leadtek 6800 AGP 128MB - $310 The 256-bit 6800 series, should speak for itself. Outclasses all the 6600GTs but is more expensive. These are cards I've been able to find retail in Sydney pretty easily, and the prices are just for comparison. Honestly Id say the MSI 6600GT is the best deal overall, and from what I gather it is heaps cheap at that price point right now, at least over here. Any suggestions?
  16. Odd thing is Soul Blade was one of my favourite games of all time, yet I never took strongly to any Soul Caliburs.
  17. I walked in on the guy unpacking Guilty Gear Isuka 2 weeks ago, and I'd forgotten about it.. didn't even know it was coming out here until I saw it taken out. That was the actual release date though - I found out later.
  18. Is there any higher quality photo of that out there? I feel sorry for the snakes now. Even more so for this one than for the last one that got stuck on the electric fence.
  19. My friend is using the net with ME. However, if you make a connection using one of those custom installers ISPs make then those should still work right? This overall seems like an ass move on Microsoft's part.
  20. Ah Rondo of Blood That's the way. Yeh use Magic Engine, and make sure you set DaemonTools or Alcohol to Analogue Audio if youre using an image
  21. The trailer for this movie looked half decent... but I'm not convinced the movie is going to be decent at all.
  22. For anyone that cares the OST is out now. Haha I like it a lot more than I liked the movie .
  23. He didn't list a PC Engine controller! The horror! My Dynastic Hero / Demon Castle fanboyism seems unjustified at times like this.
