Not really character design (well, they have to create a name for the design) but I think Sol-Badguy is really weird just because of his incredibly silly name. ;)

Weird characters:

Saber and Black Widow from Ring of Destruction,

D. Mariner from Wave Race 64 (a jet ski rider with his ass fully exposed!)

Dr. Baldhead/Faust from Guilty Gear

Mr Parodius (thong on his head)

Zeus from World Heroes (weird because of how funny his win pose and taunt is)

Yoshimitsu (obviously)

I'll think of others :P

Don't know whether Krizalid and Igniz can be considered unique? ;)

No, they can be considered as cheap as all flock. :P

but as for character designs, androgony is back in fashion so lets throw away all Gi's!

It seems like you can't tell the difference between "Hard" and "Incredibly Cheap"

Q is taken from an anime. I forget what anime  :-(

Yes Q is weird but he is taken from the anime - Metropolis. B)

I thought he was taken from Ken's SFII Stage?

Cuz i've seen a pic where someone looks EXACTLY like him in Ken's stage in SFII.

That's just his clothes. He wears a trench coat and a hat but he's just a normal man. If you haven't seen Metropolis - see it, it's great. Plus there is a cute version of Q. A grey robot in a 1940's trench coat and hat. Definitely Q.

Unless they were influenced from their own SF2 Animated Movie - the robots who spy on the fighters wear diferent disguises to blend in with the public. I'm sure one of them dressed like Q.

I can second that. Plus, SNK's Q reference is pretty much dead on.

I saw the movie, and it is great.

Who knows where Capcom gets this stuff. I mean Karin came from a manga. Maybe Q came from the SF2 anime.
