Wow, someone who is actually too young to remember how the command prompt works ;)

People who still know DOS commands are a dying breed.

Know DOS commands? I'm one of those trying to forget I ever knew DOS commands.

Use one of the window MAMEs.

Makes me feel old when people don't know about it anymore. I still remember DOS stuff, it's ingrained, I can't dig it out of my head.

Dos commands are still good to know.

Ping, dir, ls (whoops thats linux)

Its only if windows crashes and then you have to start it up again using fileview instead of explorer. :D

respect the command line, beeyotch!

you just unzip MAME into a folder, and copy all your roms to the %mame%\roms\ folder. then just cd into the folder where MAME resides, and type "mame romname".

Or yeah, you could save yourself the trouble of learning some useful information which could assist you somewhat in learning the underlying foundation of your Windows OS-based computer and download a version of MAME with a graphical interface... but where's the fun in that?

Where indeed? Manually typing in your commands is fun! I don't see why most people don't just use DOS.

I've been thinking that myself for the longest time... At least there's DOSBox.
