ken_cinder Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I've only got 120GB across 2 disks, but I've got 13 partitions and 3 Operating Systems on here. So bite me

I got 6 partitions on this current machine. One for Windows XP ProOne for Linux (Which I barely use because the free version of RH9 is discontinued)One for Windows 2000One for Windows 98 :SThe apps partition (lazy ass mofo who doesn't like reinstalling certain software, also dual layers for both my XP/2k to Win98)The big 120GB HDD for my downloads/pictures/movies. The matter is, if you use XP as a default, your PC will run better using NTFS partitioned drives insted of the FAT32 format.
Agozer Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I have (had) a 10 GB HDD, but I screwed with some partitioning stuff and accidentally turned it into a 8 Gb HDD. Woe is me. Beat that, I dare you. If I was an emo fag, I'd write a gloomy poem about it.
lancerx Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I have 3 disks, 20-120-250=390gb but i think i will be needing 250 or 300 gb more Glyph, why did you make so many partitions? i used the hole amount, well meybe your board can't read so many gbs, right?

Wizard Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I don't trust that PM7 anymore, it erased 2 of my partitions when I wanted to create another one. Now I just to id the lazy way and what I think is a more safer way. fdisk owns all.
solidius23 Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 i got all of my drives spread out between 2 systems all used for various reasons

Yeah, it's sort of nice in a masochistic way when partitioning programs can crew you over if you don't know exactly wht you are doing.

My board can definitely read that many GBs...how does that matter when dealing with partitions? I just had to update by BIOS to let it read drives larger than 137 gb.
