Cominus Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Marvel vs. EA [working title] Developed by Electronic Arts in association with Marvel's brand-new game production division, this fighting franchise will pit well-known Marvel heroes against a brand-new band of characters developed by EA. What the hell is this? I found this when i was looking around at ign.com, what does ea have? Football players and cars?
BoomBa_GoosE Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 yeah, this was anounced like a couple months ago...hard to believe. shouldve stuck with capcom..
Madi Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 (edited) wtf........................cyclops vs james bond! Edited May 16, 2004 by madienmasher
Madi Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Dude, Ryu is with Capcom...yea i just noticed...right after i posted......damn im stupid
Agozer Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 (edited) The news itself is so old....I was like "wtf is EA thinking? Do they actually have any so-called characters that would fit in a fighting game and not being laughed upon?" when I first heard about it. Edited May 16, 2004 by Agozer
Wizard Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 They could exploit the Def Jam license thats for sure.
Agozer Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 (edited) They could exploit the Def Jam license thats for sure.Oh please... Some thugged up rap ganstas against Ryu and Ken? Give me a break.Besides the original news dates back before Def Jam Vendetta was even announced. Edited May 17, 2004 by Agozer
BoomBa_GoosE Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 if i see another vs game imma throw up. excluding the Sammy one bc face it, thats too kool haha. but i mean, the marvel vs street fighter and capcoms were good enough. i ono, despite the fact that the games were kool, im tired of saying VS every time i talk about a game haha.
Wizard Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 They could exploit the Def Jam license thats for sure.Oh please... Some thugged up rap ganstas again Ryu and Ken? Give me a break.Besides the original news dates back before Def Jam Vendetta was even announced. I seriously thought it was a joke when they first annouced it.
Gryph Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I'm just looking through the EA website and looking at their games. And here are the ones that could realistically (not saying good) be translated to a fighting game: Lord of the Rings characters, Harry Potter characters, Def Jam characters, James Bond, Catwoman, Freedom Fighters, and Black and White. But does it sound like a good idea? HELL NO! Does anyone know if this will be 2D or a 3D game? If its EA, it'll probably be 3D.

Give me a break.Besides the original news dates back before Def Jam Vendetta was even announced. Do you guys not read my POSTS!!! It says: Marvel heroes against a brand-new band of characters developed by EA.A new cast, meaning "NEW" made up characters! Not old charaters, and it says developed, meaning they're being made up. And agozer, ken and ryu are in capcom not marvel.
Captain FuKu Posted May 17, 2004 Posted May 17, 2004 It's time companies start making an original fighter that doesn't have "vs." in it -- especially Capcom. Versus series: 1) XvSF 2) MvSF 3) MvC 4) MvC2 I think they're in a slump or something. New ideas are just not creeping into the 'ole noggin. Anyone want to join Capcom and hopefully turn things around? We need a savior.
