Agozer Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 Hell no dude. They go upwards up to 1.2 gigs.Oh Crap, I Was Hoping They Are Small Because Of THem Big Mini Cd-r's And All, So I'm Guessing They Are Mini DVD-/+r's Right? GameCube discs are Mini-DVDs. Can't hold as much as a regular DVD though.
Shibathedog Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 (edited) actually, yes, they are miniDVDs, they hold exactly 1.5GB maximum There have been rumours that they are going to start using Dual Layer MiniDVDs which would up their size to around 3.2GB I think they already are dual layer DVDs though that hold 1.5GB, if you know how a CD/DVD works, the inner part holds the least amount of data...and yeah, im pretty sure it would have to be dual layer for it to hold 1.5GB Edited September 5, 2004 by Shibathedog
Fatal Rose Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 I don't think it has much functionality yet, but I'm interested to see how it progresses. My thoughts exactly. So lets say if i rip the game file of of a GC game can i just play the game through the emulator like that?

Hmm...that's HUGE news, I thought they didn't sell mini-dvd-rs publically? But if they do someone should test the gamecube's copy-protection ability.

saiyanfire Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Whoa, when i get a system that will run it, i might be interested. im really not into next gen emu anyway.....
alexis Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 i dunno but it is almost for sure someone have already done this, the game ripping i mean, its been a long time since i last was into consoles so i dunno if there are pirate GC games on the market in fact i don`t care about next gen emulation either, but all in all it is another emulator and that makes me want to test it with commercial games of course, but don`t feel like even try to find out which is this em u`s name
Shibathedog Posted October 10, 2004 Author Posted October 10, 2004 lol gamecubes are like 50 bucks used now, and you can get alot of the games for like 10 bucks used...
alexis Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 dolphin final was released, the guys released the sourcecod and said bye bye to mulation, just in case someone is curious
powuh_of_PIE Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 yah yah all this is fine but how r u supposed to get the files off the discs if they r so small? Wouldn't they slip off when spinning inside or something? Or is there actually somewhere I can get GC ROMs? Where? SOMEBODY HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Agozer Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 GC games aren't roms, but you still can't ask for those. CD/DVD-ROM drives nowadays have a place for those mini-DVDs, just take a good look at your drive.
sf2_ryu Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 wow gamecube emulator thats cool if i only had a windows to support it
Gryph Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 They don't play many games and the ones they do are really slow.
