NeoMaster Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 (edited) Well if you enjoy changes where boys look like girls and proper voice acting gets replaced with a male voice actor who hasn't gone through puberty yet, well i can see why you LOVE it so much. And its nothing to get mad about either, combos that make the game fun are taking out...but, who cares about that. Edited January 30, 2004 by NeoMaster
Wizard Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Compared to any other KOF, this one is widely accepted unlike 99
Gryph Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 I liked it very much. But SNK is STILL doing that "everybody gets the same ending" thing. GODAMMIT! I want to see different TEAM endings again. I mean, it's ONE of the main reasons I PLAY kof. It's just not right man... I thought they did have indivual team endings. You have to beat Kusanagi with an SM or LDM and then fight Chizuru, Maki, and that rock thing.
Agozer Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Please educated the ignorant: What in the blue hell is an LDM?
Lightsier Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 When I saw pics of Terry from Garou I thought to myself "HOLY CRAP! KOF2003 is going to be using the Garou animation method!" That was my immediate impression, but obviously I was wrong. Oh well, I can still dream can't I? Yeah, Garou Terry sucks in KOF2003. He doesn't have nearly as much animations as he did in Garou, plus he's drawn incorrectly. When he has his coat on he looks sorta skinny, then when he takes it off he looks very muscular. His muscle tone isn't show at all through his coat.

I beg to differ only if ur up for a spoiler, click on the 2k3 endings here I assure u, some of it will shock you. ESPECIALLY the new "hero" team
bled2deth17 Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 Please educated the ignorant: What in the blue hell is an LDM?that would be a Leader Despiration Move. it's the same as A Super Despiration Move but basically only one of ur team members can do it, the one u've chosen as leader. for example if I chose kyo as my lead, he'd be able to do the GOD DUST sdm I think (not sure if that's what they gave him this year) but none of the other characters would be able to do a Super Despiration, just Despirations.
Gryph Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 The LDM system is probably my only MAJOR gripe. And the fact you can't change the leader without losing. Other than that the game is pretty cool. I miss the cool combos though.
Wizard Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 But the change characters thing adds new creativity for combos . Try a simple one with Iori and Gato. QCB+A (2x), Change Attack to Gato, A, A, QCF+A, Zero Kiba DM. Thats around 10 hits if you dont count the lag time, Timing is the key for a combo like that.
webcarrot Posted January 31, 2004 Posted January 31, 2004 (edited) I'm either playing this too late at night when my eyesight's all hazy or I have a keen eye, but has anyone else had the feeling some of Jhun's sprites are kinda..."squashed" ?, he seems shorter in some poses , maybe just my imagination...more play will tell. I like the new Robert though. Ah, yes also, I'm not very impressed with the Character Art. Kim's pose in the After Match um "Gloat Screen" ? [Once again late at night...my terminology seems lacking...! * ], he looks short and plump...and his fingers are disjointed... Enough ranting for now! Otherwise I like the new backgrounds [iffy fog in the Cemetary though...oops, forgot...stop ranting..], and the story seems interesting. Oh, one more thing, someone on the Main Kof2003 thread [in Current Affairs] mentioned getting Mai's boobs to bounce if he turned the language to Japanese? Didn't work for me...any ideas? [i'm not a perve! Honest! I just miss 'em...] * Edit: Just realised it's not late at night, but I haven't slept, so excuse the boob:| Edited January 31, 2004 by webcarrot
webcarrot Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 *Bump* Um, any more opinions? Also, any answers to the Mai question? Jhun's squashed sprite is the one which appears if he's first to fight and takes a pose pointing his foot at his opponent, looks very bad. Comments, people! *Crack*
Gryph Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 About the Mai thing, it worked for me just fine. After playing the game for a while, I really like it now. But I hated the hero team in the beginning but after I realized that I just have to corner someone with Shen Woo and they're dead!
Wizard Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 QCF QCF + A/C then run up to them and do QCF QCF + B/D for a 15 hit combo with Ash!
DoubleDragon Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Bottom line: KOF98 is still the best. For those who think otherwise aren't true fans of the kof series to begin with. 2k3 was an improvement to some degree over 2002 but is still mediocre at best.
