This means, you wont be release them publicly, if this is the case. Both, of course....

The No-Intro Screenshot Archive provides screens and titles for every single ROM in the DATs along with tools that make updating a breeze. If I had some sort of cab setup perhaps I would want more than this but combined with a great looking skin it's more than good enough. I won't argue anymore about it. There's really no point, and it's not fair for me to judge other people's views on this when my stuff isn't publicly available and setup so it's easy to use yet. If, when that time comes, people are still under the impression that using my sets isn't the best way to go without having even tried them out, then I will just chalk it up to close-mindedness on their part.You are taking this all too personally. This is a thread to discuss which ROMsets we like to use and why, it's inevitable that there be some comparison between sets. Close-mindedness is not being open to other people's preferences and priorities. There are many threads full of praise for what you've done by people that will use it. But I appreciated the chance here to share my personal opinion as to why No-Intro sets are the best for me.

I've only got about 8 backers right now. Not the established thousands that use the no-intro sets already. You really don't need an arcade cabinet to put these on there though. One thing I don't think you're considering, and I understand it's because it's something we're just putting together now, is that you won't be able to have the gamefaq for a game pop up automatically when Madmab perfects the media browser. We've got a few guys collecting thousands of them now. Who wouldn't want to be able to do that for a game instead of logging on to the PC? Maybe you're not into Faqs, but I use them when I try to get everything on RPGs and stuff. We also plan on having the ability to automatically bring up other Xtras with the Media Browser like Game Manuals, Commercials, and Game Reviews. This will all be dependent on the roms matching the file names.

Read my last reply cbagy. You're going to need to rename a ton of other stuff too if you plan on everything working right. Like I've said before, when the synopsis function is fully working, the romname will just be a placeholder anyhow and you'll probably end up cursing yourself for all that time you put into renaming everything. Or not..... When it's ready you can just download the entire thing and FTP it over when you've changed your mind.

I have 2 emulators, FBL and NeoGenesis.I have no interest whatsoever in any other systems.Therefore i can easily name or rename anything quite easily and have done.They already work perfectly with artwork and video's.CUT files, video comercials, video reviews etc etc are just clutter to me.CUT files bypass everthing that your so passionate about anyway ????The way things are heading it can only get worse.At this rate there will be 30gb of media and 500mb - 1gb of roms ?????Isn't it about playing games ? If they don't want to put the effort into it, or want just the barebones setup, they won't even notice the new code. This stuff is put in for people who want a total multimedia experience with their emus instead of one song on loop in the skin with nothing but a title shot and maybe a video playing. If you don't care about features, by all means you can go to the trouble of renaming everything if you really have a stick up your ass about my naming conventions. You'll find that it's pointless when we'll be able to display the names in the synopsis though. Also if you're not using my hand tested roms, you have no idea if they're actually going to work when you fire them up. I wish you luck with that. EDIT: There's nobody holding anyone hostage with the romnames. I'm no genius, and I don't pretend to be one and I COULD do it if I wanted to. Anybody COULD do it themselves if they wanted to as well. Why do all that work though when the emulator is going to display the full, correct romnames based off of the synopsis file? Names that many times are not possible on the rom file name because of XFAT limitations. I really don't know how many times I have to tell you that the rom name is JUST A PLACE HOLDER. What's so hard to understand about that? You've seen it for years with MAME. Try to wrap your head around the idea that the MAME concept can work with other emulators as well. But xbox filename limitations and my SD screen definition make Rx Xtras the best solution on this platform. It's not just about screenshots (which I care), videos (which I care a bit less) and commercials (which I don't care). Edited January 27, 2010 by waal

Sometimes cbagy just needs his head thrown through a wall or two and since my pimp hand isn't strong enough to reach through his monitor, I FEEL THE NEED TO SHOUT IT OUT AT HIM!!!!!! Some people cut themselves..... I'd like to think this is a lot healthier. Besides, cbagy likes it. Nothing personal here, even if we say stuff that sounds like it some times. We've been beating each other up for a while now. He's got a sense of humor though and that goes a long way. It's cool cbagy. Everyone is entitled to be wrong if they want to.
