Lob1 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 For all 4 games from XMenVSStreetFighter to MarvelVSCapcom2, how do you do chain air combos? I can get at most 5 hits before the enemy falls off. Also, are some characters too strong? Does anyone know how to fight extremely aggressive characters like Ruby?

Agozer Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Usually a specific move that will set up the opponent for an air combo ("launcher", as in, a move that will launch the opponent in the air).
Diso Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 When you're in the air, basic hunter combo is lp, lk, mp, mk then end with a move or fierce.Fierce hits, moves, and specials usually knock your opponent back down on the ground
Rag Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Agozer is right but you don't necessarily have to launch them to do an aerial rave (even though this makes it a hell of a lot easier). As long as they are in the air, you can combo them.

So that's like 6 hits maximum? (two light punches to launch them into the air) What is "end with a move or fierce"?

mtsaint Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 If your just starting out with fighting games imo its best to stay on the ground rather then jumping into your opponent. Work on your ground combo's. King of Fighters and SVC are good examples that work well with ground combo's. Games like MvsC1 and 2 Have jumping deep hits that set up certain combo's. This is just my opinionated take based on my experience and how different 2D fighters feel to me.
2eyez Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 You could always check out combo vids on youtube. they have plenty to watch. My fav is Marvel vs Capcom 2. I still play the game and highly enjoy it. My characters are Storm, Sentinel, and Dr. Doom. Also, practice, practice, and more practice. I've spent countless hours honing my skills.

They can be difficult to master, but practice and experimentation makes perfect in this case.
echoman Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Until you get the timing down, I suggest you hold up while doing the combos. What game are you trying to get down? They are all very similar but some are faster than others.

They are all very similar but some are faster than others.Marvel vs Capcom 2. I can do a max of 6 hits, and the enemy gets kicked down by a hard kick. I can't coordinate the movement keys and the buttons for attacking. Thus when I punch the enemy into the air, I can't jump correctly and press attack buttons fast enough at the same time. I keep cringing at the moment because time is so limited.
Krosigrim Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Oh my... my friend played this religeously. Uhhh Cable wqas pretty sick, he would chain hyper viper beams all over the place. It was dumb. Sentinel... This game suffers from combo overload. Yea generally 6 hits IN the air is the max, on average, but therre are exceptions, like guile. Id lp, lk something like that, but drift into them and actually do an air throw, which was actually a grab, and heed drop them on his knee, where as you can ducking lk thhem and re-apply the popup... which was silly. Also... Cinder... i mean Iron man had an infinate air combo.... what was it.... a sh!t ton of jumping fierce punches???
