Alpha Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I like it but I haven't seen much of it because I never had HBO. I was also too lazy to download it and now I'm many seasons far behind. Is it a reality show or actual sitcom?
Skythe Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 It's a sitcom about the writer of "Seinfeld" Larry David. I love the episode where he was arguing with the drive thru window because he walked into instead of driving thru it cuz of something wrong with his own vehicle.
Bambi Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 It's shown like its Larry Davids real life but its all scripted. Even if you haven't seen the earlier ones there's not much you've missed, the storys barely continue to the next sometimes. It is pretty much seinfeld but with alot more swearing.
Cominus Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I really liked the second one. These commercials are getting better. I can't wait until they become more mainstream. I've only seen the first commercial once on TV and that was it. I also need to check out "Curb your Enthusiasm" if its as good as these commercials. Is the show really that good Bambi? And Gryph, what do you think of that show? I've been looking for a Seinfeld replacement. I love that show, it's sorta like the commercial but he always gets into these very weird/strange arguments/conflict/situations. It's funny but you're just like WTF, I would say not appropriate for kids.

That's what happens when you start splitting up script writers and giving them too much control of their material. It ends up turning to crap. I still want to watch an episode in its entirety, but it seems to me Larry David could have easily devised another Seinfeld, and didn't. What a dumbo.
Lucandrake Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Wow, this is hilarious. How do you not lol!?
basilbr Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Whilst it's not a long lasting replacement to Seinfeld, the second season/series of Extras (Ricky Gervais) plays out in a very similar way during most episodes.
Gryph Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Noooooo no more of these commercials. http://valleywag.com/5051455/microsoft-ann...re-seinfeld-ads
Lucandrake Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 That sucks, what the hell D:! Microsoft: "Lets hire Seinfeld"Big man: "Great idea I love that show!" *watch commercial* Microsoft: "Nobody gets us :'(!"
Weirdy Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Wow, this is hilarious. How do you not lol!?oh man, I gotta get into this show
Gryph Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 New commercial is up: http://gizmodo.com/5052051/microsofts-im-a...but-not-hodgman It's actually not that bad. It's not quirky or funny but it pretty much cuts off Apple's Mac vs. PC commercials.

These new commercials are the same old crap you see on TV with getting a 2 second screen cap of a person from every nationality. It's extremely overdone. Microsoft could have really went far with the Seinfeld/Gates commercials. It had a level of uniqueness I haven't seen since the Seinfeld show. It was only a matter of time before they could have made it more about the Vista product than about "nothing". They blew it IMO.
Gryph Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 Most people found the commercials odd and alienating.
