Robert Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hey Robert! Does a service like My Pictures work slowly for you as well? Try http://rameen.mypictur.es for example. I'd be curious to know how it behaves That site didn't like IE6 either, it started to load, when it got to 33 items remaining, it sort of froze.Guess it would have finished loading eventually, but I didn't wait around, it had already taken nearly 2 minutes.
Devia Eleven Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 2. Has heaps of videos and moving things which I hate. I hate this as well, but with FireFox, and the Adblock Plus add-on installed, you can block any videos, ads, or pictures on a website.
ramine Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hey Robert, Yeah like I said we don't support IE6, as it's not capable of handling most of the AJAX we use. After all, it's already quite dated! Side: based on people's feedback we will remove stuff from the front page. Did you try the site otherwise? Good / bad feedback is appreciated
miskie Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Small bug issues. We took the time to upload a few songs to a private folder as files, when one goes to download the files, it hangs the browser if it has an .mp3 extension. M4a seems to work fine. Im using Firefox3. The data that does download needs to be renamed after download as well - the file comes down Named as "get_file" instead of the original file name.
emwearz Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Im on a 10mb connection, the site is overtly slow for me. It takes quite awhile for a single image to load when browsing images.
Phoebus Apollo Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Hey, I think I found a bug on the site. It has to do w/ the blog feature. This might sound strange, but whenever I write an entry I always edit it in a word processor ahead of time. Then, when I'm finished I copy/paste the content into the field and submit the blog entry. Well... strange thing... when I do this, it seems I can't edit the content once I've pasted it into the mysites field. What's worse, after I submit the entry it shows up like this: " 'blog entry here.' " A typical mysites blog entry entered straight into the site would look like this: "blog entry here." I am running windows vista 64 on a quad-core processor, firefox 3, solid wireless internet connection, 1680 x 1050 monitor. Word processor used is Staroffice Writer. Hope this helps.
ramine Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 (edited) Hey guys, emwearz: Are you on linux? or do you have a cpu older than 3 years old? If not, what are your computer's specs? It would help a lot. Phoebus: Whoa, we should hire you for debugging I believe it has to do with the way we currently handle the text edition: currently if you type something in the editor, it will actually type it elsewhere, and then modify the content when you click on some action (ex: make bold). The problem is if you didn't type the text in it, it won't put all the necessary html tags in it. Which is probably why it messes up. We'll fix this! Btw, did you guys notice we added a start page, friend updates, and social voting this week? Any things you would like us to add or fix in priority? PS: I really appreciate the support from the 1Emu community. Thanks for the diggs Edited August 3, 2008 by ramine
Krosigrim Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) Alright... I have registered... I notice it says under construction in the upper left... I don't know if that has relevance to my problem... or if it's on my end or what. Settings: Change Picture: Ooops! No permission to create item: [krosigrim] /everyone::/profiles@core::/me.jpg! Note: I assume this is my avatar pic... Pics run smooth... now once I finish my project.... well see how that runs off it. Edited October 13, 2008 by Belthasar
