For some strange reason this download is a file i cannot read on my mac....... a .zt file which i've never heard of......

It's compressed with 7-Zip (.7z). This is mainly a Windows VBA build, so I really wouldn't recommend using a Mac to run it.

the whole point of using the VBAM was because it was for Macs....i dont have windows, i have a mac......is there somewhere i can get a better version of the VBAM for mac?

Truth be told, I don't think there is any. The MacOSX build is nearly three years old, and AFAIK, was more of a curio (it was made just because) -- That said, I really can't say what features the MacOSX build has and hasn't got, since the main focus has been on the Windows build (and to a degree, *Nix).

 

You should try to get a hold of Squall Leonhart over at EmuTalk, seeing how he's the one maintaing the "official" VBA-M site and ask him about it directly.

Nah....I think buying the games are easier....more expensive....but easier.....oh well....

If recent mac builds are not available, compiling using cmake should do the trick.

hey, I already use VBA-Over but I couldn't save it, I already changed the flash to 128k but still I couldn't save it

So it would seem that most solutions are for pc correct?My pc is on the fritz,so I am using my mac.I am running vba-m and haven't tried many games,but the one I really want to play(and save in game) is advance wars.I have set memory to 128k,tried all the youtube tricks but still not saving properly.I opened the library and found that it was saving in the vba-m battery saves,but whenever I go start up the game,it takes me to the naming part.Anyone who doesn't use a mac should know that there are very few options that you can change,there is no automatic save option or anything like that.The only tin of relevance you can change is if you want to use Bios on start up and memory from 64k to 128k.Also I don't believe the ini. thing will work on mac.So does anyone have any info on how to play this game?Or is there no way to play correctly on mac?(Also I did notice that Fire Emblem saves and loads fine so..)
