I always wanted to go to the french quarter during marti gras. I doubt there is a french quarter by tuesday.........
Gryph Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 It's pretty odd how it went from a minor storm to the storm of the century in 2 days. And this pretty much half way through the season! It would suck if more storms came. Goddamit, this officially sucks.

I find it funny just how many people keep moving to those areas knowing full well they are natural hazards and people who don't leave those areas after being subject to multiple storms that total their homes stick around to "rebuild".Quit rebuilding and MOVE.
Gryph Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Update: I was just watching the news and they showed a nice detailed path of the hurricane with the approximate wind probablities. There were 3 rings, a 45 mph ring, a 55 mph ring, and a 75+ mph ring. My town is in the 55 mph ring, however, if the storm shifts a tad to the west then we will probably be in the 75+ mph one. This is quite exciting.

I've been close to tornadoes, living in Oklahoma, and they are no fun, and they only last a few minutes or so. I surely don't want to experience hours of driving rain and high winds. Keep safe and dry!
