Bo0 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 wow...i ahvent seen the new one yet..or better of yet i havent seen "charlie and the chocalate factory"...just willy wonka...and by the commercials i can say the chocoalte looks more pure in the "charlie" one but i do agree bout the soda scene (in willy wonka) because i saw no point in it...i mean the fact that all the other kids were eliminated from the competiotion beacsue they did sumtin bad...y didnt charlie get eliminated when he drank the soda?...i mean willy wonka knew he did so...well whatever i dont know ...this is all just my opiniojn...kbye
Gryph Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Well the soda scene was just there for an excuse for Willy Wonka to yell at Charlie. "YOU LOSE! Good day, sir!" http://youlose.ytmnd.com/
Madi Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I went to the movies to go see it ,it was ok , i could go either way on the adding of depth to the past of willy wonka,The Oompa Loompas were pretty messed up
Ryuken Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 so for those that have seen both version of the movie, should i watch the new one?
Madi Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 watch the old one, this new one was kinda bleh plus it had a better oompa loompa song
Shibathedog Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 wait wait wait My understanding of the movie is this. The original one was called WILLY WONKA and the chocolate factory, and Willy Wonka passed the factory onto CHARLIE, So the new one is called CHARLIE and the chocolate factory. So doesnt that mean its about CHARLIE passing the factory on because now he is too old or whatever? So it was a sequel and not a remake right? Or am i wrong? because i would get kinda irritated when people said things like, The remake is going to blow, when I thought it wasnt a remake at all.
Weirdy Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 it's neither a sequel or a remake especially not a sequel since there still is a Willie Wonka
Gryph Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 It's neither as Weirdy said. It's an adaptation of the book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." The first movie is also based on it but much more loosely. These movies have nothing to do with each other minus the fact that they share the original source material.
Shibathedog Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 hmmm...well its still not a remake of the old movie then. I didnt even know there was a book *shrugs* never a big fan heh. I was gonna go see it but i guess now i wont. Ill go to the other extreme and see The Devil's Rejects hehe.
Gryph Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 No offense but our schools are failing if people don't know that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a book.
Weirdy Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 eyeyyeyey, Shiba is older than I but I knew there was a book
Shibathedog Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 heh....I thought it was just because i wasnt a fan i hadnt heard of it, No teacher ive ever met has mentioned it was a book.
OverlordMondo Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 (edited) "And get me a copy of Moby Dick." "Book or movie?" "They made a book out of it?" I remember my mom reading it to me when I was a wee little boy! Edited July 23, 2005 by LordKanti
