I think microsoft should rethink that idea as it may hurt their main franchise, they should adopt a finish when it is done policy to finish a game that wont be buggy or sucky, rather than promisoing a date rushing it out and delivering mediocrity.

and like halo 2 which was delayed, delays may break promised dates and turn attention to other consoles................and make hornier halo fans go ariiieee.

I played halo its a good multiplayer, but i more of a tactics player. Pc rts's rule them all

They could either make a simple dent in Sony's plans and/or harm their only big hitter in the process.

I would be very surprised if it made much of a difference, though it would be funny if a single game ruined a brand new systems launch.

Microsoft's launch of Halo 3 on PS3 launch day has officially been deflected by this: GTA Next to be a PS3 launch title

If it really is a launch title, then it'll be quite an interesting show since GTA: San Andreas has sold quite a few more copies than Halo 2.

GTA for a launch title??? man, sony is really on the ball this year. they are not backing down whatsoever....this is great bc GTA is one of the best well known titles in the PS world. Like Zelda with Nintendo in a way.

as a launch title, this can really put ps3 on the spotlight for awhile. especially if the game surpasses San Andreas in every way, and it has so far with the previous 3...

What can GTA do at all now. Other then pretty graphics and...more licesend music?

MP is where it's at, like practically 90% of all FPS games. As for the gameplay, you just can't comprehend the controller.

I comprehend it. It just blows. And after playing multiplayer some more it's not even that spectacular.

*sigh*, GTA will probably add more realism , like gas, cops still chase you after mission is done, and make the world bigger. Halo 3, unless some miracle happens it will be exactly like halo 2, a new feature here and there, maybe 2 new weopons, and like gryph said earlier, better graphics. But im pretty sure bungee will get it's arse handed to them if GTA Next gets released on the same day HALO 3 does. But enough said, Im gonna start collecting money for a, PS3 :)

Bwahahaha, perfect. Sony fights fire (crap) with fire (crap). Those two games are the perfect competitors because they both have insane appeal to casual gamers. They're both kind of worn out on hardcore gamers, but it's going to be an interesting showdown nonetheless.

That's true to an extent. I'm just losing interest in gaming as a whole, I can't play most games for more than 45 minutes at a time.

I'd really like to see more 2D games with 3D mixed in on the newer consoles.

But considering Sony's frigid approach to this from way back in the PSX days, it won't happen. They say that 2D diminishes their consoles' true power.
