-VIOLENCE- Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 this is great! that means Puff Daddy will be in the mix to say "it's good to play together!" i think i'll be partying or on a shoot when this BS will be on MTV
Bluestinger X Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 actully frodo will be doing the "it's good to play together!" lol Like i said before this is just MS trying to get ahold of the casual gamers.. Which is something sony has been whoring since the ps1.
Daeval Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 (edited) Like i said before this is just MS trying to get ahold of the casual gamers.. Which is something sony has been whoring since the ps1.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Actually, of the two systems, it's the XBox that has the bigger casual-gamer appeal. That was MS's target audience since day 1 with the "play together" campaign and those crappy stock photos of college age jocks and clean-cut frat-preps all over their ads. Considering their approach, this MTV spot will probably hit their target pretty well. And K', what makes you think the Cell won't perform reasonably? I'm not saying the hype isn't ridiculous, I'm just curious if there has been any real data released. Edited April 12, 2005 by Daeval
Gryph Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 The data released on the Cell leans more towards it being a beast. Also, IBM and Toshiba are involved and IBM is one of the only companies with the techinical expertise, scientists, and fabrication plants to actually make the Cell. However, Sony is involved so I think of Emotion Engine.

I think there were casual gamers prior to the PS1, but the size of the gaming population as a whole increased so dramatically in that era that the number of casual gamers was suddenly significant. No one's really going to have facts on this matter though, so I guess your theory is as good as mine.
NeuronMaster Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Heck, I'm probably not gonna get either of them, but if I do It'd depend on the games. Fanboys need to chill.
Gryph Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Some more XBOX 2 news. " The research firm, which rates Microsoft at "outperform," expects Xbox 2 to be available for retail sale in October or November at a retail price of about $249 to $299. Goldman said the Xbox console would cater to the lower-end of the consumer segment. The firm expects Microsoft to ship about 3 million units of the Xbox 2 worldwide in the December quarter. http://www.forbes.com/markets/2005/04/12/0...yahoo&referrer=

Bluestinger X Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 (edited) lol i doubt it will be 250. But im sure it will be cheaper then the ps3 and all its cell hype. Meh, I dunno how true that is. I think there were casual gamers prior to the PS1, but the size of the gaming population as a whole increased so dramatically in that era that the number of casual gamers was suddenly significant. No one's really going to have facts on this matter though, so I guess your theory is as good as mine. tongue.gif back before ps1 to most people the idea of video games was to expensive and too geeky. Soon as the ps1 comes out everyone on the block has a ps1 and no one really cares about the game play they just want cool cut scenes like in final fantasy 7... blah i miss the old days . Then things got even worse mario was no longer cool since he wasnt a badass or mature. Thanks sony thanks alot. Edited April 13, 2005 by Bluestinger X
solidius23 Posted April 13, 2005 Author Posted April 13, 2005 like i said in an earlier post i know im gonna end up with both of these systems. but sony has something up their sleeves, they are not gonna let the bill box punk them out like this. its gonna be one long media rape by both companies till E3.
Wizard Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 That better be in Canadian dollars...or else!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hahahaha...No.
Lucandrake Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Im getting the X-Box 2 most definitly , can't wait for it to air. I just hope sony is really just blabbing bs towards the public
NeoMaster Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 That better be in Canadian dollars...or else!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hahahaha...No.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Dear God, that's freaking expensive! That's like 1000 bucks in canadian funds. I wonder what the price for games will be...probably at least 60 dollars (canadian!) per title.
