Z-Neo Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Looking over the release date list for the next couple of months, there's a decent amount of "high-profile* movies coming out. Batman Begins, Fantastic Four, War of the Worlds, Episode III....I'm pretty hyped about the War of the Worlds and Fantastic Four movies. A couple of others that I'm looking forward to are the remake of The Longest Yard, this time with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The Batman Begins movie, ehhh, I could take it or leave it, and I haven't gotten into the latest SW movies like I did the first three. They aren't craptacular, but it just feels like something is missing in them to me. Anyways, what do you all think about some of these movies, and are there any others upcoming that might be worth a watch?
Prican25 Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 definitely gonna see star wars episode III, thinking about the batman begins but not sure. the others i'll wait for reviews and see if its worth it tho i might wanna see war of the worlds, does look good and the director barely makes a bad movie (hook)
Weirdy Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 neither well..that batman one seems kinda interesting, but only Batman and Batman Returns ruled!
NeuronMaster Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Kung Fu Hustle, Star Wars III, War of the Worlds, Batman Begins and maybe the Fantastic Four. That's until August.
Prican25 Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 you can get kung fu hustle on dvd at your local import dvd store its a good movie
Gryph Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Batman Begins, War of the Worlds, Star Wars Episode III, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the new Mike Judge movie (it doesn't have a name yet). It's coming out the same weekend as Doom for now so I will do a 2-in-1 and see both with one ticket. I'm sure as hell not paying for Doom.
Agozer Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Batman Begins and Star wars Episode III. I curious about Doom, but like Mr G, I probably wouldn't pay to see it.
NeoMaster Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 I don't see the appeal of Kung Fu Hustle. I hate that movie with passion flakey. As for the newer movies, I'm not really interested in any. I'm against marvel based flicks and rather watch old classics then new shizt.
Z-Neo Posted April 10, 2005 Author Posted April 10, 2005 I had overlooked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp must be making up for lost time, seems like he's been in 20 movies the past 3 years.
sf2_ryu Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 i'm just gonna see Episode III really care for right now and yeah
Prican25 Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 after seeing the trailer to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, i must say it has a weird look to it and dep just looks starnge to me but then again this is tim burnton's work so weird things do flow with the man except for batman 1 sake which is great but he shouldn't have killed off the joker
Bob Jahovic Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Im gonna see Batman Begins, Fantastic Four, War of the Worlds, and maybe...maybe...Episode III The two new star wars have sucked ass. In the first 3, Lucas told the story and enhanced it with special effects. Now that he has almost unlimited things that he can do, he is trying to tell the story with the special effects and ruining three impossible to ruin sequels. The new Chocolate Factory looks wierd. Jonny Depp makes it look almost scary. I have to say that it looks like Gene WIlder is gonna own him VS
NeuronMaster Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Johnny Depp looks gay in the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.
Gryph Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Tim Burton and Johnny Depp wanted to keep true to the novel and be nothing like the previous movie. But Gene Wilder is still the perfect Wonka.
Wizard Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Some H2G2 will quenc said thirst I've had since I first saw the trailer. Gentalment, hold on to your seats, because all you need is the guide. War of the Worlds has to be good. Because Wells' work is amazing in the book form. I hope Spielberg did a good adaptiontion of this, or else theres Hell to pay. Episode 3 looks amazing, now to see if it stacks up. Midnight showing on opening day yo. Thats about it right now.
