  1. There's a lot of hype for this game around my dorm, but I think if I bought it I'd never end up playing it even though everyone tells me I should. That's what happened with TF2 for me, at least.
  2. Anyone know why PDRoms is redirecting to DCEmu? I don't see anything about it on DCEmu's front page, and I didn't see anything on PDRoms about this in the past few weeks... Also haven't talked to Kojote in a while, so maybe one of you can tell me why one of my favorite websites is gone and replaced with wraggster's crap?
  3. Yes, I would still like to fix it, since I'm not getting my laptop till September. However, I also would rather not spend a bunch of money trying to fix it, because I'm not taking it to school with me. But if that's what it comes to, I'll be able to, since I built this computer as well as a few others, so I know what I'm doing there. Not too sure how to underclock the RAM, unless it's just a setting in the BIOS. (never really messed with over/underclocking except a tiny bit with my gfx card) I'd also like to know why my wireless card won't work with Ubuntu, even though I have the right drivers (that have worked with Linux and ndiswrapper before). Also, my comp specs: Original specs Upgrades I've made since then
  4. My girlfriend talked with Goatwhore's vocalist for a while (they even got "married" after he made her a ring out of cut guitar strings) and I talked to and got a pick from Abysmal Dawn's guitarist. The singer from Daath was on sooooooo many drugs... he didn't look a single person in the eye before, during, or after their set. Daath's bassist also had to fill in for Goatwhore's bassist, who was not there and I can't remember why...
  5. Too bad the only tickets left were lawn and some seats for $60 Ah well... at least I got to see Daath, Goatwhore, and Abysmal Dawn the other day. Got to talk to a few of the band members, too. That was awesome.
  6. Well, I ran it from the Ubuntu cd that I burned on a different computer, I ran it from GRUB, and I ran it from a slightly old version of the UBCD. None of them came up with any errors. I did, however, notice something else. While trying to get wireless working on Ubuntu, it told me that my wireless card was disabled, and I'd have to turn it back on from windows. Well, after booting into safe mode and discovering that it was indeed enabled, I tried disabling it to see what would happen. When I rebooted and started windows normally, it didn't freeze. So now I'm stuck with a shitty install of windows and no internet. Good thing I'll be getting a laptop and going off to college soon...
  7. Well, I was able to install Ubuntu 9.04 successfully, and I ran memtest86+ from the Ubuntu cd... It didn't find any errors. I do, however, get these two errors whenever I load Ubuntu: [lots of numbers] ata1: softreset failed (device is not ready) [different numbers] ata2: sofreset failed (device is not ready) ... and then it boots up fine. Does this mean there's something wrong with one or both of my hard drives? Or the drive controller, maybe?
  8. The RAM, eh? I guess I'll run ol' memtest86+ and a few others... I guess bad RAM isn't as bad as a dead mobo, cause at least RAM is getting cheap these days. I could probably replace all of my RAM for at or under $50.
  9. WELL HOWDY Y'ALL. So my computer's being a bitch these days. Here's what happened. For the past few months, it's been randomly freezing (and by freezing I mean the screen goes black and my monitor enters power save mode... all I can do then is restart) usually while I'm playing a game, watching a video, or sometimes just browsing the internets. With that, I could deal. Then, the other day, I installed Electric sheep, a cool screen saver that my friends have. As soon as it installed, my computer restarted (I was not prompted or told it would do so, it just did). Now, every time I turn it on, it freezes either at the Windows log in screen or a few seconds after I log in. I booted into safe mode and uninstalled the screen saver, but the problem persisted. System restore, nothing. I even reinstalled Windows. Still happens. Now, I've tried numerous distros and versions of Linux. They all either freeze during installation (usually at the partitioning phase) or they claim they have installed successfully, but when I restart Windows just loads right up (No GRUB or anything). Fortunately, I'll be getting a laptop in a few weeks for school, but I'd really like to know what's wrong with my comp, especially since I want to sell it before I move into my dorm. So is this a virus, a hardware problem, or what?
  10. Dammit... I really wanted to go
  11. Just turned 18 a few weeks ago. Guess that means I'm an "adult."
  12. From drk||Raziel’s blog: Dreamcast games running on a PSP... Even at those frame rates, whoulda thunk it?

    So...

Got in to a few engineering schools, but I'm going to be attending Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) this coming fall. Thanks, and I think I might try to become more active pretty soon... Maybe not visiting multiple times every day like I used to, but fairly often. I like it here.

    So...

School + girlfriend + laziness = no 1emu for me for a loooong time When school started up, my life got all filled with stuff do do, which I was not at all prepared for. Thus, interwebs stuff took a back seat to my new found real life. Now, what with exam week fast approaching, I still won't have much time for 1emu, but I'll try to pop in now and then. Oh, and RIP IRC... I knew it was dying for a long time now... but still... it's like losing muh bestest frind Anyway, I've just recently been accepted to one of my top choices for college for computer engineering, I've taken up the bass guitar (and death metals growlings \,,/, ), I'm working on my school's FIRST Robotics Competition team, and things are going great with my girlfriend. Just thought I'd give y'all the quick rundown of things as of late... NOT THAT ANYONE CARES (cry, biatch, moan, whine, etc.) Except Diso. He's ok. And Robert. You can't hate Robert. Or GameCop. Or Agozer. Or... etc. Oh, and I see I'm still the #1 victim on the FAS... fix'd - diso Yep, gotta love that Diso.
  15. I couldn't find anything that'll do GSF to MIDI, but Audio Overload is compatible with GSF files and can export them as WAV files. It's also available for Windows, Linux, and Mac.
  16. Well, he does mention "apps" as well as "games"... so I guess I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he's looking for homebrew? Especially since the GnM can't run commercial ROMs... Anyway, head over to PDRoms.de for lots of fun DS homebrew stuffs.

  18. Megaman_zer0 is right: If that were possible, I'm sure it would already have been made. However, in order to create a magic memory stick, you need to be able to run unsigned code on the PSP itself, and that can only be done if the PSP is already homebrew enabled. You can, alternatively, find someone who will help you out at this site: noobz.eu (They are very trustworthy and well-known in the PSP homebrew scene)
  19. PSP Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-2 Source and Downloads: dark-alex.org Alternatively, if you already have a custom firmware installed on your PSP, you should be able to use the Network Update feature to update your custom firmware. To enable the M33 network update feature: Boot into recovery mode, go to Configuration and set "Use M33 network update" to Enabled. If you are running a custom firmware that does not have this option, DO NOT use the network update feature to update, or you will end up with Sony's official firmware. 20. The Blackest Ov The Black tour came to The Rave here in Milwaukee last night. I knew it was gonna be a good night when I took a big bag of pocket change I'd accumulated over a year or two to the bank and discovered it was worth $24, thus paying for my ticket to the concert. First up: Winds of Plague - Generic deathcore. Move along, nothing to see here. Next was Moonspell - Pretty decent black/doom metal. Guitars and drums sounded awesome, but the vocalist could use a little work. No show: Skeletonwitch - This sucked. I was kinda looking forward to seeing a trve black metal band, but their set magically disappeared... What I came to see: Dimmu Borgir - Always a crowd pleaser, even with two substitutes (1 guitarist and the drummer). Great set, full of awesome songs. Unfortunately, even with The Rave's new 'no moshing' rule (which I don't see working... ever), a pit opened up right around be, causing me to get slightly banged up and my girlfriend to break a nail punching some dude in the face... Damn, she's awesome <3 Finally: Danzig - I only stayed for one and a half songs, but I got to see Glenn Danzig freak out at a stage crew dude... During his first song, it looked like Danzig's mic cord kept getting caught or tangled on some equipment, so when the song ended a fat ol' stage crew dude ran out to try to untangle it. The next song started while he was still on stage, though, and in his effort to quickly waddle away, he unplugged Danzig's mic. After he fumbled around with the cord for a bit but failed to reconnect the mic, I saw Danzig turn toward the sound guy with his mouth clamped in a tight frown, shake his head, turn, and hurl the mic at the stage crew dude. God I hope that gets on youtube... After the show, grabbed a hot dog from a nearby stand and headed home. Great night.
