I cant speak performance wise as i dont know much about hardware and how much it consumes. But as to the feel of it, it is something new and even though you can change the look to look like xp i keep it as vista. However their is one bug that bugs the hell out of me and it really pisses me off. When ever i open up to many tabs (ex. open 5 tabs, then close them, open 5, then close them and so on) the tabs stop working, and i cant right click any where. The only thing i can do is close the IE and restart in which the problem would go away. This never happened to my laptop.

Yeah, i was acting silly in my post put i knew it overheated since it burned my brothers hand off. And about my laptop, its alright i guess. If i could just get it to turn on, but i think it bricked. I have a better and new compuer now. But a big thanks to all of you who helped me with this and my many problems that have occured and soon to come .

Well my brothers computer just got fixed. First he needed a new hard drive. He packed it with a 120 GB HD. But then his computer kept on shutting down so he asked a friend and when they opened it up they saw that after we removed the fan filter thingy thier was that white glue stuff sperating it from the processor or something which had melted (the white stuff not the processor). Whe got some of that white stuff, added it, and then formatted the computer and it was up and going. As for my laptop and the reason which we use it (to watch videos from the internet and downloaded ones), we decided we are going to bring a dvd player that you can plug a usb and watch videos from thier. Still cant watch internet movies but its all right, we'll manage. Another problem which i didnt mention is my brothers sansa media player which for some reason wouldnt work. A little bit of google cream and it worked. Saved you guys some trouble. It all works out fine in the end....excpet the fact that we lost a laptop.

My new computer is Hp AMD i think, that laptop sucked it lasted, but we had good times.

I dont want a new laptop, just pisses me off that i lost one (not really). When the winter break comes i will be able to get my new graphics card that will have the video out (thats all i really use the laptop for). Guess i'll have to use my brothes laptop to watch stuff on tv. and a personal experience statement to all: COMPAQ SUCKS

Well after finding out that my compuer doesnt work my brother is keeping all of his stuff away from it, including his hdd. For your first comment, he is keeping the same OS and i think he is not going to mess with the ram. As for the hdd for my brothers laptop, you mentioned cheap, 100$ is not cheap (for us that is) but i think he is willing to but the money. Which one would you recommend for a Toshiba 3455 S3001 laptop. Does it matter which one you pick. I know the lenght of it matters (2.5" by the way) and the number of pins (40 something i think). does it have to be toshiba. As for your second comment, he wouldnt do it. Either wait for the new hdd and then i try his old or just close the screen on it. But i just need this final question too. IS THE HDD THE PROBLEM???? I need to be sure, 100$ less money less in our pocket is 100$ less money for college.

I dont know why but i want to play Little big planet. I just dont know why. One day, one day, it will happen. Also i would like to take a look at heavenly sword. Seems like a good game. It looks like POP and GOW (god of war and not gears of war). Also it looks a little like oni blade (a russion game set for this winter, only for russia i think, nice game though, for russians , i think this is to long for a paranthases statement if a spelled that right, well i will close it right n). My two games: Heavenly sword Little big planet The rest i either never heard before, dont care or other ports (ex is Assassins creed).

For my brothers laptop (Toshiba) it turns on on you can go all the way to the desktop but its pretty slow. I think the problem is his HDD because i think its the one that makes the clicking noises. He might just need a new HDD. Does that make sense that he might need a new one because it was a suggestion from a friend. As for my computer, it will NOT turn on not even for a second. Mine is a compaq like a mentioned in my first post. Both our computers were xp. I hear no noise other than my repeated bashing on the power button after it wouldnt turn on ( ). I did not smell anything (but i have had a cold for the past 2 weeks so what do i know) and my brother sure hasnt smelled anything as he would have been mad if he did and more than likely something would have fried. So to anwer your question: -Both of our laptops are xp (mine i believe was home while his was professional). Mine was compaq, his was toshiba. -My computer does not turn on. -Nothing smells like fries.

Yep, i tried putting the hard drive in both ways but no lock. Every time i push the button nothing happens, not even i millisecond of it turning on.

Could have the flip flop or if the pins not all connected have caused something for the laptop not turn on? YOU BIG HELP!!

It gave my brothers laptop the blue screen but we put is hard drive back and his laptop is working but there seems to be a problem with his hard drive (the problem was thier before i tried putting mine in). As for my laptop, i did not get the blue screen. I have nothing of use on that laptop as everything i need is on this computer. Can i still turn on my computer without a hard drive? I think i fried my computer when i tried to flip the hard drive (the computer was shutdown). I am not sure if its totally dead. What would have fried in this case, the hard drive or what, or am i not putting the hard drive tightly enough??????
