  4. I don't mind lots of posts about MUGEN, it helps keep the community alive. What we need is more people who are experts at it. Requests are fine, so long as any copyright issues are observed or at least acknowledged. My definition of copyright = do not plagarise, and acknowledge original sources. If the original author does not want something to be distributed, then don't do it.
  5. Get the bestest pc you can lay your hands on. It will make a difference!
  6. Well, nothing happened here. At all.
  7. I had one hairy incident when I had my first car. I came out of a side street and it had been raining. As soon as I touched the accelerator, the car started spinning around and I freaked out. Cars were going in all directions and luckily there were no accidents. My car ended up on the grass off the side of road facing the opposite way i had been going. I just sorta sat there for 10 minutes, zombied out. I made sure I bought some new tyres that week.
  8. When you pass the computer exam you become a L-plater (Learner Driver). Then after you pass the driving exam, you become a P-plater (Provisional driver). After a few years, if you are good, then you get the full licence. P-platers and L-platers have to have a special plastic symbol affixed to the car so that everyone knows to watch out. Also L-platers and P-platers have limits on how fast they can drive.
  9. I had one accident when I was a P-plater. Usually at a T-intersection, the straight road has the right of way. Except in this case. I never noticed the give way sign until it was too late and I hit another car. I have comprehensive insurance so it didn't cost me anything until the next renewal. No more accidents since. When I was driving to my father's funeral, some idiot in a truck tried to run me off Parramatta Road into a power pole. Luckily I was able to stop in time. I nearly went to my own funeral instead!

  12. I just noticed they updated the site to say this:
  13. No problem, I moved the spam to the spam forum (which you will see when you've made 100 posts). And since it's your thread, double-post as much as you like. Keep up the good work!
  14. Getting toward the time for thread closure, it won't be long. You were right...... Of course. Every thread on religion ends in conflict. Many wars have been fought over religion - and still are. As they say, "Religion is the problem - not the solution".

  17. Hah, what I don't get is when politicians say "God is on our side". What happens if both sides say that? If what they say about God is true, then he won't be on anyone's "side" in a war. Especially the side that started it.
  18. Stubbornness gets you nowhere. I'm always open to the facts. When it comes to religion, it will take more than any human to change my mind.
  19. Hmmm, not sure what category I fit into then... I do not believe in it on logical grounds and on principle. There is simply no need to. However, should something occur which is undeniably divine, well then I will change my mind. But, I doubt very much it would happen.

  21. Today I gave away my SNES. My mother found it (yes) about a year ago, and I repaired it (there's a thread around here someplace on that), but I never had much interest in it. When I moved most of the stuff to the new house it went there too. Today, my best friend and his family visited, and the boys spotted it immediately and said "A Nintendo 64!! can I have it??". I had to explain that it was actually a SNES (which they'd never heard of), and yes, they could have it. So it's gone. No loss to me as I never made much use of it. But they also brought over their white Xbox360, with a fan unit attached, and Halo 3 running. They set it to Legendary level (the hardest) and I watched them get killed, and get killed....

  23. I was thinking, the other day, about life in heaven (if it exists). I have killed thousands of insects in my lifetime, I have a sort of vendetta against them. One would assume they would all go to heaven (being innocent), to continue bothering the angels there. Now, what happens if a heavenly insect was killed? Would it immediately pop back into life? Does it mean that every heavenly creature lives forever? The logical conundrums are mind-boggling. Do you see why I find it easier to just dismiss the whole thing as some kind of fantasy?
