  1. As time goes on, my creative process dims, and that affects olafnes, my NES emulator. I'm going through a period of uncreativity and lack of development in olafnes. I've posted this topic to get the visitors and members of 1Emulation to give me some ideas. If you have any suggestions or ideas for olafnes, reply to this topic. I do not want any "yeah, that's a good idea" or "maybe... *anything here*" one-line replies, I want well-formed and self-explanitory replies. Any ideas taken in to development will be given credit where it is due.

    Thanks,

    Olaf

  4. XRoar, a Dragon 32, Dragon 64 and Tandy CoCo emulator for Unix, Linux, GP32, MacOS X and Win32, was updated recently and released. Below is a quote from the XRoar official hompage about v0.11.

This release introduces a Win32 version (using the Win32 SDL port) which just about works, although from what I witnessed, the sound is incredibly choppy. Unfortunately I don't have anything to test it on, so fixing that up will be slow. GP32 support is broken for some reason (it runs, but sound and video is broken), so I'll leave the previous release of that binary up.

Also new: Support for Dragon 64 in 64K BASIC mode. Translation mode in SDL keyboard module. French and German keyboard mappings for 'raw' mode in SDL keyboard module. SDL-YUV uses hardware scaling where available. JACK sound module. Basic NTSC artifact simulation. GP32 chatboard support.

    - Now there is proper timing on PAL systems.

    - There is now a proper method for keeping the emulator running at 100% speed

    - The screen is now the proper aspect ratio and is all displayed.

    - Improved load times

    - Rendering optimized for some more speed gain

    - Default region automagically set to that of your Dreamcast

    - Slightly less SDL dependance moving towards complete SDL independance

    - Added version check of MorphModules to detect if differing versions are installed (which could potentially cause problems).

    - Updated Win32 installs. MorphModules now only install if MorphGear is installed and they no longer prompt for an install location. Also converted from EXE to smaller MSI. Of course, if you have an old version of Windows you'll need to install the Windows Installer Bootstrapper.
