  1. Here's a little demo that shows 16 digits per line, without venetian blinds, flicker, or 'zig'. The temp RAM requirement is significant but not unreasonable (slightly under 32 bytes) and the code/tables are large but not huge (the demo is under 2K). The time to set up to display each line is significant but not outrageous (the demo shows eight lines of sixteen digits each); using another K or so worth of tables would cut setup time in half.

To use this demo, move the cursor with the joystick and press fire to change a digit. All 128 digits may be set independently.

This demo is for the Atari 2600, and this news comes from PDRoms. More information is available here.

  4. The Free60 Project wiki and developers mailinglist has been launched. The project aims to port open source operating systems like GNU/Linux and Darwin to the Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming console. The site already contains some interesting details about the Xbox 360 security: per-box key stored on CPU, boot ROM will be on CPU too and a hypervisor verifies the running state of the kernel.

  5. A gamer fed up with his new Xbox 360 crashing every 20 minutes has fixed the problem by raising the power supply off the ground with some string. Goldeneyemaster over at the GameSpot forums indicates that the main reason for his Xbox 360 freezing up is the power supply overheating. The solution is to lift the power supply off the floor and allow the air to circulate better around it.

Hey people. This is really just a quick site to publisize my game I have created for the Gameboy Advance

This is my first game I have programmed for the GBA and it taken me a fair amount of time. I am proud of it though. Its reallt a 2D devil may cry - well thats what i wanted it to be because its an awesome game! Below is a link so you can download may game. This file has instructions a screen shot and the game file. You will need a Gameboy Advance emulator or flash cart to play this game. Only thing I ask for is some feedback - I want to know what people think. Even if you think its rubbish i still want to know so i can get better. With more feedback I might add to the game, make a sequel or a brand new game (will probably do this anyway!
