I definitely can't tell you how to break into this career, but I could propose a few things that I'm sure are beneficial. Search for Open Castings / calls for voice actors. I know there are subscriptions and sites that list these for actors of all sort. I'd make a demo reel of various voices that you can do, saying at least a full sentence in each. Make a video and upload it to Youtube. There's a guy on there that has a video called something like 'a bunch of sounds / voices that I can make'. This guy got picked up by Geico for that video alone. AHH here it is: Check him out. First, I didn't say why I was so captivated by this movie, so don't take what I said and run with it, filling in whatever blanks you feel like. Secondly near 50,000 ratings on IMDB give it a 7.9 average, so someone other than myself and a few others must like it too. I'm not saying this movie was without it's holes and weaknesses. But the tone, setting, audio, cinematography and other elements completely pulled me in. It's rare for me to see a movie where I don't mind going to the bathroom or going for more Coke, but this film had me in a state to where there was no chance of me budging from my seat. Was the monster a little on the weak side? I didn't have issues with it. It was what it was. Similar to something out of the game Rampage crossed with a bit of Godzilla, yeah.. so what? The little 'flea-monsters'? Again, seen them before, more or less, but I liked them. 'Oh, no one would keep working a camera with that madness going on!'.... ok, well it IS a movie and without that element, there would have been NO movie. The only part of the entire flick I thought wore thin was the beginning, before the attack. It was a little long, despite the attempt at character development. The rest of the movie developed the characters, not the intro. But I will agree that by the end, the characters were still a bit flat. The overall purpose of the film was to deliver the 'personal' experience which I think it did quite well. I felt attached to them, and wanted them to succeed. I saw the ending coming a mile away, but didn't feel that it could really go any other way. I'm suddenly bored with typing so I'll end by saying that I think, from your posting, that you have the ability to actually appreciate films on a level deeper than most. But then I see that you pretty much shoot down everyone's opinions on movies in this thread, so I'm gonna rethink that opinion. Maybe, you're just a movie viewer that is well-spoken, with poor taste in movies, despite the fact that he could potentially see movies in a light that most can't. But as it stands, it just seems like you love the opportunity to bash someone's opinion of a film rather more than actually watching movies.

I ran SMF for over a year and I did like it's modification options. But out of the box, I'd say this forum is better software wise. Mods for SMF are aplenty and some are very nice.

King of Kong I Am Legend Joshua - Not the best movie in the world by any means but very eerie.

First and foremost, I'd definitely use the TurboGrafx16's game card size (physical size that is). They were hella small and they were also the same cards used for the TurboExpress handheld (a sexy mo-fo if ever there was one!). No 'gotta buy this system for this game but that system for that one'. Same games , cross-platform. Perfection. Next, I'd go with the PSX or DC internals just for the sake of being able to have the best graphics and processing possibilities up to the date you mentioned. NeoGeo had great graphics but overall I'd go with the PSX more than likely. Personal preference. I'd go with the Playstation's controller since it is still the best damn design ever. If I was looking for the best blister generator, I'd go with a classic NES or Intellivision controller. The DC controller is probably the coolest, but isn't near as comfy to use. I'd go with the Dreamcast's case cuz it was just very gorgeous IMO. The N64 runs a strong 2nd. Dreamcast memory cards just because they were more fun and flashy I'd throw in an Intellivision Voice module for voice synthesis cuz NOTHING is sweeter than hearing the computers voice on space spartans. Lastly I'd throw in a 'High Speed Digital Data Pack' reader/recorder from my Coleco/Adam computer, cuz saving game info to a cassette tape kicks the hell out of any other medium when you wanna be true old school!

How fluid is a movie supposed to play on the DS end? It plays normally on the host, being executed by the DS, but the actual video on the DS is very choppy. Perhaps I missed something but is 'watchable' movies possible, or just executable? Also, there was no sound on the DS end. Is that normal as well? Thanks and I love this app. Love remote apps on all platforms. Was using one via my cell phone with no luck though

Well I did a search and didn't see where anyone had talked about this movie at all so I wanted to make sure that all of you retro-fans were aware of it. If this topic resides somewhere else, please merge my post. Anyway, "The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters", has recently been released on DVD after showing in very few theaters. This documentary tells the story of video game elites Billy Mitchell and Steve Wiebe duking it out for the World Record in Donkey Kong. It shows great character elements and emotion while revolving around a scene that most people don't even know exists. This is THE MOVIE that will hit the heart of EVERY retro-gamer / emulation fan out there. It really is very good. Please check it out. Just got back from seeing Cloverfield after months of waiting. I absolutely loved it. Many hate the ending, but you seriously have to see it coming so I was more than prepared for it. First movie in forever that I was completely engulfed in.

First off, glad to be back after a very long time away. Now, let it be said that Fox News is a notoriously liberal news show. Once you find out that's who's doing the story, you pretty much know which way it's going to go. Anyway, something I wish that the spike tv guy would have had ready to unload is this: “The average game player is 30 years old and has been playing games for 9.5 years” “The average game buyer is 37 years old. In 2005, 95 percent of computer game buyers and 84 percent of console game buyers were over the age of 18.” “ Eighty-seven percent of game players under the age of 18 report that they get their parents’ permission when renting or buying games, and 92 percent say their parents are present when they buy games.” This is based off of an older survey, but current numbers are similar. The liberal psych lady says that this game is targeted to a younger audience. I think we as gamers all know better. hell, look at the stats above. My final thought is when the one guy says 'Mass Effect won't come into my home.' I say good. It makes it easier for us genuine gamers to find our copies when we want them.

At the time I was a moderator here but some B.S. came down the line which led to a whole lot of drama. At any rate, things have passed and been forgotten so I'm back. Mostly go I have a MAME cab that's torn apart, a working Last Duel cab that I scored for $50 and am a total movie freak.
