They can, and if it's backwards compatible with the Xbox.......they will (It's the ONLY way) As for it being a media center, being a focal point with hombrew.........thats neither here nor there. Just because you can play movies, look at pictures, listen to music etc in their specialized little app, doesn't mean it's open to running unsigned code. They did talk about being able to make ur own stuff though at the briefing... we will have to wait and see what though. Anyways I have a theory on the BC stuff. So everyone sit around and listen and learn. They said only big titles right? some people wonder how this is gona work. Well my theory is it isnt even emulation. The reason they wont have every single game is they are gona need to rencode some stuff. Heres the way i see it.. ur gona put ur xbox disk in it and the system will read it and see what game it is. Then the system will connect to xbox live ( silver is free remeber so everyone will have it unless u dont have the net ofcourse) and from there it will download a new XBE (the exe of the xbox world) that works for 360 and run it from that. (so sum that up 360 will turn ur xbox game into a 360 game altogether just running the main part from the hd) Yeah sound confusing but i mean i highly doubt its emulation and since they cant use old hardware like sony does for the ps2 to play ps1 games... i think they are doing my theory and thats why only " some " games will run. They will rencode all the top sellers for us and leave the rest no body cared about. But then again thats just a theory and i could be compteley wrong and retarded.

I think the media center stuff... is really aimed at the modding comunity. I mean look at this stuff. When u think about xbox whats the first thing that comes to mind besides xbox live. The modding comunity right? MS sees what people love about stuff like XBMC. So they are just giving it to us this time. ( the face plates and customizability is completely aimed at the xbox scene) They see what the modding community truly wanted out of there system ( a media center and so on) so ms is doing the cool thing and giving it to us out of the box. (im sure they would give us emulators to if they legaly could ) although its a bit corny... but atleast they are trying.

what i find funny is... this system actully looks the sexyest to me. Come on its small and sleek. I want to make babys with it. Man i want a new mario game.. something that lives up to mario 64.

I will admit it is sexy.. but I was hoping nintendo was coming out with something that would crush the psp and all i get is a mini version of the gba (come on i own 3 already). Give sony something to worry about. Oh and i read mario kart ds is gona be online. A few minates later i found out there was a god.

so in the end he is a fan of ms without even knowing it... I wish pc gaming was good... but tell u the truth. How often do u invite a friend over to play pc games with u? can u sit back in a lazy boy with a huge nice screen with great suround sound while downing a nice big sandwich cussing at ur friend beside u sniping at u from far away in some misc FPS... oh and what about fighting games.... man pc = no fighting games. PC gamers just miss out on what gaming is all about. Sure now and then one or two titles has to be played. But it never last. With all the console hype... pc gaming isnt gona get any better either.

bah u know ill probably end up buying a ps3 someday.. but at launch ? hell no im gona laugh at all the kids who pay to much for that hype machine. I wana see how fast the parts break as well.... Anyways "my" faith is in nintendo as well and microsoft. Sony has been around to long hyping crap and charging to much for stuff. the ps2 is still $150!?!? and its been out the longest and is the cheapest of the three systems to make. I like xbox.. its a great system. Ps2 fanboys are just to blind to see that... Seriously what the hell is really wrong with the system? What they actully wana compete with sony? Hell i think they are making the console world better by stiring up crap. The harder MS trys to outdue the hype of sony actully makes sony get off there cheap asses and do some stuff for the consumer. We all know sony will make a better online service this time just cause thats how MS has gotten up so fast. Anyways Im rooting for 360... I cant wait to take games like PD0 and GR3 on xbox live and play against buds ive made over the years.

Also tell u the truth.. i just watched the extended ghost recon 3 video and i have to say it looks about just as good. also the orginal killzone was crap and didnt compare to halo2 in anyway.. yet everyone is so hyped to give it a second chance

I hear alot of people complaining on forums that the graphics dont look real as they should. Everyone seems to forget that team ninja isnt really about realism. They want there characters to have a kinda anime look to them. perfect clear skin.. no blemishes or anything. But man look at the detail on the clothes and stuff... just amazing.
